Wrap around pourches are a thing of the past!!! I love them!!! The home is Beautiful!!! I hope that they can reopen the store!!! The shelving and counters are Great!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I'm from the UK but something has always drawn me to the Appalaichan folk since I was a kid and I used to read articles in my fathers National Geographical magazines about the Appalaichan mountains and hollers. As a small offering to you all I've written a very simple poem for you all. God bless you all. The old Appalaichan holler calls to me. Though I drift around the country roaming far from my native home, There's a voice in my heart that says Appalachia is your home. I can smell the cherry wood burning as the tendrils of the smoke speak to me of home. A home of rabbit stew and corn bread, a belly full of goodness to see me through the night. In partial slumber on a balmy summer night, the lonesome drone of the fiddle on the porch comforts my weary bones. And families, each to their own home, no fancy living here my friend, but a love that abounds. There's the call of the grosbeak, a plaintive warbler call, but there it is again and it calls me home once more. And then the gathering of the folk, a pinnacle of holler life, strange some might say, but I say "show me better". For they might be plain in appearance and coarse in their address, but every word spoken is spoken from the heart, and every word spoken calls me home again to our humble holler. Oh I have wandered far and wide, and I've seen some pretty sights, but where would I lay my head if I could? That's right, back home in the holler tonight.
What a charming and interesting place! And a gem of a day to film, everything so green 🌳and the sky ☀️a brilliant blue...a treat to watch while a blizzard blows outside here in northern Wisconsin. Thank you for sharing!
Hello there John. It is always so good to see you. This is my first time ever seeing this place. I absolutely loved it. The remodeling of that house was absolutely gorgeous. I hope and pray that the store can get remodeled. Thank you so very much for everything you do. All of everyone's hard work and dedication is outstanding 💪👍
Watching from Taiwan. Love what you do and your channel. I will be stopping in for a night with my daughter at R M Brooks hopefully on the Mar 11th. There is a Maple Syrup Festival up in Monterey/McDowell, Va the 2nd and 3rd weekend of March. Take care and God bless.
Gorgeous views, love the old Americana vibes. Great job on the restoration and best of luck finding the perfect person for the store. God bless y'all out there and God bless America 💯😇😊✌️🇺🇸

Visit an old country store/cafe/gas station in Polkville, NC which has local musicians gather for picking and singing each Thursday night. Anyone can bring their instrument to play along. Locals also play at noon on Mondays at a local park in Casar, NC which is only a few miles from Polkville.
yes they have been working on my barndominium for 3 weeks so not been able to travel. Also when these videos posted I only had a handful of subscribers so now tens of thousands of other people are getting to see them for the first time.
We have a very similar one on Rt.113 in Illinois looks like they raised the foundation but I don't see anything else happening? Where I live they don't let private citizens to bid on an abandoned home, store or whatever just the real estate companies no adverse possession like they used to, I'd love to find a cheap peace of property but I'm not sure how to go about it? Any suggestions? Already have a 765sq ft house plans not including the loft!
Another good video John ,,, I don't know how this one got by me ( probably due to our temp. Up here in Montana ) 26 degrees below zero. PS I hate winter ! THANK you Frank from Montana....

I wonder if there’s a type of varnish that would protect the outside wood of these structures and keep it from turning grey indefinitely.
