I have to start running one of those animals this week. Lotta experience with every kind of machine, soon to add this to my resume… I do expect the terrain to be about the same.

Good video skidders can out pull a bulldozer any day doing work like that skidders can go gust about anywhere you want thim to go
In really tough terrain a skidder with 4 tracks works well.

Those big machines like that are hydraulic drive
+aus71383 as of about 2 years ago they are. but this one and every John Deere before was a straight drive!

I mean I don't do logging (My father does) but this location just doesn't seem right to me. Are you not suppose to do this on flat ground? And my build the road a bit better... or maybe build some sort of road in general.
Are you serious ? Moste of the forests are on hills so this location is totaly right. And why sould you build a good road if they ruin it with logging ?
Maybe its different for me I live in a place that is pretty flat everywhere, As the road i don't mean like "Oh shit better bust out the pavement" I just mean flatter but then again a lot of logging is done when the ground is frozen so maybe im just spewing shit.

The reason why skidders are such beasts, is BECAUSE those kind of shitty terrains are the norm.. lol
Mickr4 Not Realy , at least not where i am from we got no Skidders we got real Forest maschinery ... but there is no word in english to describe them.
