Probably agree but it was refreshing to see a different version get reacted to and this was right up there, and the live trumpet sounded great too. This was a great choice.
This Wembley performance is way better lol. The best performance though is at Wembley arena 2006. Teignmouth is better than Rome as well. Rome is too polished
they were regarded as the best live band on the planet for quite a period of time its not easy play a stadium the size of wembley and sound so good no one loves the old stuff more than me but when you see the likes of GnR and bon jovi etc painfully trying to still perform these days there is no comparison imo their music will stand the test of time, folk will look back on them in years to come the same as we do now with the older stuff im sure
I saw Muse in 2007 at the Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie, TX. You can imagine how hot it was to see a band in a theater rather than in a huge stadium show.
You touched the point, after Queen, to me Muse are the best live band, took some years to take off but today they're masters, almost every is like an anthem :P
Live at Rome is great, but live at Wembley is better. The song was still new for them and the energy is at another level. Also, this song opened that concert performance at Wembley.
The album from where this song comes from, Black holes and revelations, is one of their best. They really tried to blend all kind of musical genres, taking inspiration from many artists, like Depeche Mode for example.
Yeah, inspiration from Depeche Mode on some tracks, and then you've got the song..... Assassin..... which is a HEAVY Dream Theater song, pop radio "Caribbean" song and generic 2000s rock album song in one 😅 Truly a unique album lmao!
Thanks for reviewing this! I love this concert! Can you review New Born and Butterflies and Hurricanes from this gig🙏🤟🏻 I actually think K of C is better live at Rome Olympic stadium btw😁
One to check out by them: Showbiz, probably Reading 2017 (Great performance and there was a vid that started with a bit of Isolated System as well, but I can't find that. Reading 2006 / Le Zenith/Hullaballoo performances also great (and maybe higher key)). Showbiz is the song from their debut album that really got me into them in 1999 - I would have been into the somewhat anyway , I saw Skunk Anansie (and you should check them out, Skins voice is incredible) on tour in Liverpool and Muse supported, and I had a friend who followed the music press and I had a fried who followed the music press and up &coming bands who was telling me about them too. The first album, Showbiz, has some great songs on but the title track, while never a single, was always the standout. At Glastonbury festival in 2000 which I was at they closed with it (slightly comically). Anyway, my 2c. Hopefully at some point you get to their longer pieces, Exogensis Synphony (all 3 parts, not live), and The Globalist (live at glastonbury 2016), but probably a few more normal ones first -these are both more accessible than space dementia, and both distinct from eachother (except length and a 3 part structure), but not necessarily their standard fare.
this song is inspired by the lead singers father's band. They were called The Tornados and they became famous for the number 1 at the US billboard with the song "Telstar" in 1962. Which is the song thats probably inspired this song too, plus some inspiration from spaghetti westerns and was originally supposed to sound like a song by "The Shadows"
The lyrics are quite good too. “Come ride with me through the veins of history I'll show you a god who falls asleep on the job And how can we win when fools can be kings?”
In terms of anthems and crowd-connection, Muse is one of the best of all time! Of course, they pay homage to the great bands of yore: Queen, Rush, U2, Depeche Mode, and they throw in a bit of Classical music influences as well!
Supermassive black hole from this gig really good, sing for absolution from Glastonbury 2004 beautiful live building song, mircocuts I think of a like operatic rock song full falsetto. Take a bow like a sweeping space rock sort of ballad as well to name a few (older songs). Newer songs supremacy, the handler and I quite like the void on the simulation theory album
Just discovered your channel and binged through all of your muse reaction. Please do a reaction to kill or be killed off the new album. The vocals and overall heaviness of that song is so perfect
Enjoying your reactions of my fave band. Try giving Dark shines 2001 hullabaloo a watch and listen you will not be disappointed. Keep em coming guys 🤘🏻
The crowd singing not only every word, but the riffs, always gets me man
The live version from Rome's Olympic stadium is the best performance I have seen of this song
Id say for me the 2007 Wembley was the best. The trumpets though :o. Thats why I love the 2022 performances of KOC

I think you should do Butterflies and Hurricanes at Wembley too. Such a good song and such a good performance!

Fab getting to see them at the old Nokia 😎 I bet it was amazing for sure 😎 Nice to meet a fellow Texan✌🏼
Guys, great reaction. I saw Muse at a music festival in Spain a month ago. Awesome Band live

Well, WOW! That was pretty epic! Whoa! And that was def Close Encounters at the beginning. 😎
I know right 😎😎 (definitely close encounters at the beginning)
I was there for that performance, the set was almost 2 hrs and it was amazing!
You touched the point, after Queen, to me Muse are the best live band, took some years to take off but today they're masters, almost every is like an anthem :P
You need to watch the video version of this sometime - its hilariously over the top
Live at Rome is great, but live at Wembley is better. The song was still new for them and the energy is at another level. Also, this song opened that concert performance at Wembley.
Cydonia in this song refers to a region on Mars as it's a Space Western song
I love that Matt tries to get his guitar to "whinny" throughout the song.

The bassist chris wolstenholme once described this song as 40 years of rock history in 6 minutes
Cool analogy 😎😎
The lyrics are quite good too.
“Come ride with me through the veins of history
I'll show you a god who falls asleep on the job
And how can we win when fools can be kings?”
New born, same gig, you're welcome.
