Love the versatility of this, make one thing which turns into several other things!! Also the kit idea, slightly cheaper than buying one from a store/etsy and so much more personal/meaningful
Yes you could make it as personal as you like, create to music, add a layer of journaling underneath, stick on personal ephemera… and of course use your favourite colours 😊

I just found your channel and I am SO HAPPY God has led me to the perfect channel for me. I am so excited to watch every one of your videos and see how I can worship the Lord in yet a new way. I have so many journals, in many ways, I plan on giving to my granddaughter. I don’t want my life to be segmented into my dutiful time with the Lord, and then my fun time. That’s crazy!!
Creating beauty should be part of my time with the Lord! In fact EVERYTHING I DO, should be WITH THE LORD!!! At least that is where my thinking is now!
@@Psalm_27.4 Yes yes yes, I'm digging deep into scriptures, Gods lessons and the meaning of them, and I can do are work on my pages while I'm listening to a teaching, watching a bible movie or jiving to so good ol christian tunes. I'm hoping that someday my granddaughter will read them and have a better understanding of who our gracious loving Father is. God wants you to love and enjoy your time with Him !!!!
@@marcycrossman752 That sounds good! May the Lord help us to develop our creative skills to His pleasure and so that we grow closer to Him through such skills. I’m coming to believe that I need to learn to draw well, so that I can express emotions like joy, grief, upset, sadness, etc. I can’t do it with stamps! 🤣I hope that spending 5-15 minutes a day will help me significantly improve my next-to-nothing drawing skills!!! 😂

Great to find a serious Christian mixed media artist.
I’m curious:
1) What size piece of paper was the base of your master board?
You said that it was too stiff.
2) Does that size paper come in a lighter weight?

Hey there- great questions! I think it was A1 size and card that I used, where as a thick paper would have been ideal- something like 150gsm would be good I think. But if you’re going to use plenty of collage you could use even lighter paper- like a sheet of newsprint paper!

In the US they might call it craft paper, it may come in rolls, or folded sheets. It is thin like paper used in shoe boxes or to pack glassware.

Ah, I have a roll of brown kraft paper! I think it is heavier than the tissue paper used in shoe boxes, and possibly a bit lighter than packing paper, but I think that any of these three weights would be good for a masterboard.

How did you create the tags from your masterboard.
What are the dimensions, and how did you make the slanted corners? Do you have a tool that makes the corners uniform in size?
Great questions! I you can make them any size you like but if you want them to be regular it’s probably best to make a template to draw around on the back of the masterboard. To get the corner cut consistent, you can make a little template by snipping one corner off a store card- so you can draw one corner, flip the store card and then draw the other corner. I hope this makes sense- it’s easier to do than to explain 😂
@@JennaBurneArtJournaling Thank you! I’ll give it a try. I’ve been wondering if there is a standard angle dimension for tags. I should probably look for some at a thrift store. I could probably do some research on TH-cam as well! 😁

What paints did you use...I did the collage which was fun, then painted my paints over....and they wer aqrilics and they covered all my patterns so just looked like a painted page.😢😢😢
Oh no! I did use acrylics, but if you used good quality opaque ones they will cover up your collage unless you water them down. Most paints will tell you how transparent they are if you look at the bottle. For this transparent is probably better. Should have said that in the video, sorry. Hope you manage to have another go!
What is that "board"
Just a large piece of card. Although because I used a lot of college I wished I had used paper rather than card- it ended up very stiff!
