I planted the top of a store bought pineapple two years ago & it produced a pup about 3-4 months later. That pup is now fully grown getting ready to fruit in its center. I never detached the pup from its mother buried under the soil. The plant grew much larger than I expected but it’s my favorite plant. Growing in Florida, USA!

The plant that just keeps giving. Started with 55 kauai sugar loaf slips given to me 2 yrs ago they are just about done pulled one and it took a month to ripen so the rest of the crop should be done at the end of august. Or longer. There the size of one gallon water jugs. The one i pulled early weighed 8 lbs. so im gonna about 500 slips. Much love from the big island Hawaii🤙👍

So grateful for this information! I grew a few pineapples years ago when living in Central Florida, now living in North Georgia and just harvested my first pineapple here....I shouldn't have been able to grow them here, but I did!

    Greetings there.
I am a farmer from Bhutan, a tiny himalayan country. I am initiating an organic agroforestry farm with a community here where our main crop will be Ginger. This concept has not been discussed or practiced yet back here, I would like to get in contact with you all to learn and interact more. I did watch all your agroforestry course videos. Amazing they are !!

Not sure you are still watching your channel, but I’m just getting started (past 3-5 years) with the first plant coming from the top of a store bought plant. I now have about 12-15 plants and have gotten several good plants. But none of them ever have pups. I have had a few grow slips. I live in Central FL by the way. Is there something I am doing that I should change? Or is this maybe just a result of the type of plant I have (no idea the kind)?

I need aloe advice. I saved an aloe my husband got from his grandmother and now I have somewhere around 100. Destroying hurt. I spread the love live in florida and I can’t find enough uses.

What if you leave them there instead of taking them and planting them , will they bear fruits?

I have been in pineapples for 12 yrs. I disagree with that Idea of cutting the leaves from the mother plant allow the leaves to eliminate itself the more sucker grow off the mother the faster it grows and the bigger the fruit.

How do you know it time to let go? Mine gave me small pineapples and the leaves are turning a redish green. The oldest one gave me a pineapple about 6 months ago and I don't know if I should let go or keep it in the pot...

I heard pineapples grown under a shade don't taste that good. Have you experienced that seeing that yours are under some shade?
