That sounds quite nice! I’m surprised the brand never tried their mic on other instruments other than a violin - maybe you will inspire them to give it a try on other small bodied instruments and perhaps make future iterations with a wider scope in mind. I’m personally curious about use with a ukulele. I wish it was a bit smaller and more contained. I suspect that wireless antenna is a higher range one to ensure the connection can go further than the typical wireless antennas - that’s usually why companies would choose to do that in this day and age and forego the stealth factor, as you put it. A higher range antenna that would be much smaller would probably cost them much more, so it’s probably a compromise to keep costs down. If they can figure out how to make this unit a bit more robust, most people won’t mind the added antenna so long as the connection is stable and the sound quality is nice. Perhaps you’ve just helped this company think about their product design by trying it on a Mandolin!
My Big Muddy mandolin has a K&K and it works well. They've got a center sound hike that really helps installing it, but it's so small. And yes, In Christ Alone sounded really nice in the mandolin!
I permanently installed the stick on KNA contact mic on my 1940’s Harmony Vogue mandolin. Volume control, wooden housing, excellent tone through the Fishman Loudbox Mini amp and only $49. Sounded great on my Kay K1 archtop guitar as well. I’ll be getting another one to use with a myriad of instruments. Nice demo though!
I know you didn't mean it like this at all, but I hate the thought well I wouldn't use it if it really matters but like playing at church it's fine. I want church music and church musicians to be the best there is. To be playing to honor and glorify the Lord is the biggest stage there is. And again I know that's not how you meant it but I've heard church playing minimized alot lately. Love yall
I’m so glad you like that Northfield! I’m gonna try one of those mics. Thanks, Jeremy.

What brand of vocal mic are you using and would it work for singers in your opinion?
