Black, Purple and Gold Angles were great. Loved them.
Braddah vic. I'm speechless bro. Mahalos for the shout out. I'm glad this ball was better than the edge 2. Keep m rolling
You bet
My first 16 pound ball when I was about 12 was one of these beauties
We called the the ole "Grapefruit" Good stuff never threw the Gold Angle but I had the Purple Angle. Cool video.
Right Lol, I’m sure it had a few other names back in the day. It’s definitely a unique looking ball going down lane. Thanks for viewing we appreciate it!
This ball hits hard! I love these vintage pancake urethanes. I have a Grizz, Grey Rhino and the rare Cobalt Rhino which I shot 267 with in league. Oddly, I seem to shoot better scores with these old balls than I do with my modern high tech balls! 😂
I agree I love throwing relics and they hit harder then my new urethane and reactive balls. So far I have a angle plus , pink hammer , blue hammer (wanting to polish it to a high gloss ) , and soon a black hammer. Older balls are better for me
Loving the Relics videos, Vic! These are all the balls I grew up with!
Bowled in the sweeper there a couple weeks ago. Had 758 with my Columbia White Dot. Went up to Poelking South that evening and had 736 with the same ball. I do still use a Columbia The Beast from the 90s. It doesn't hook much more than the plastic but has a little bite on the back.
YES! Gold Angle is my favorite ball of all time...threw my gold and purple Angles in league tonight actually. Garners a lot of attention from other older bowlers who remember them from the '80s
Nice, yeah when online they can still pack a punch. The old Pancakes were so simple and generate just enough to get the pins off the deck. Thanks for viewing.
Let's see.... I've owned the black angle, the gold angle, the blue angle, the purple angle, the ultra angle and the angle plus🤣🤣🤣I'm old😢😢😢😂
my arsenal bowling juniors and high school league: gold angle, black angle and grey angle. love those balls back in the day.
I still throw a 16-lb AMF Statesman hard, black rubber ball as my spare-maker. It was bought and originally drilled at Sears!!!
Got the ball while still in high school (around 1970). Used to take it to the "bowling alley" on a bicycle, strapped to a bicycle rack.
Originally was a full-drill, but changed to an offset full-finger-tip, which allowed me to get a good hook on older-style, oiled, maple lanes (don't know if there was such a thing as an "oil pattern" in those days).
Today, I can throw it straight enough to allow me to convert the 10 -, 6 - and 9 - pin, fairly consistently (vs. my strike ball).
Yeah that’s the only issue with the old stuff, they will sail quite a bit in the new oil. Definitely need some to get them started . Thanks for sharing and viewing. Great input!
@@KingOfTVBowling Yeah they do -- and in this case, that's what I'm counting on to keep hitting those 10-pins! 🙂
In all my years I’ve seen a thousand black, purple angles on the house racks. Only seen 1 maybe 2 mustard angles
Its definitely one you wouldn't Miss on the rack. LOL
Why is this not titled “bowling with relics”???
TH-cam won’t give enough title space we have it in the description and in the playlist. Might tweak it here shortly. Thanks for the heads up.
Fixed 😉
Gold story. My mother's teammate had a friend die and leave him a gold Angle in ugly shape. lol... He started throwing it in league as respect to his friend, and shot worse scores. He was about a 185 average in 1991. People were like, go back to your U dot.
My main ball was a black angle (over a U2 and Cobra) before getting a Ninja.
Can’t fault the guy for trying to honor a fallen friend. Kudos to them. I’ve done that as well. Thanks for sharing this moment. We appreciate you being a fan and doing so. Take Care. 👍🏻🙏🏼🙂
It's clearly a Langle. Why do people always spell it wrong? 🤔
