Question since you have 32 years of welding and manufacturing, do you not find it strange that they do not weld that tube all the way around I can’t say I am a Wilder, but I work on city buses and whenever we weld a tube back on a bus that has been Damaged all the tubes are welded all the way around so why aren’t these buses? Also have laminated panels of fiberglass or aluminum on the sides so can you answer that question for me please and if not the manufacturer also if they can answer that question.
@@ferminamezquita5422 definitely would be stronger but maybe they do it to let condensation out or bc it would add stress. That aluminum is paper thin. Time will tell
I’m sorry, but that answer is not good enough because on buses there are we put in for condensation and they showed the walls later and there was no welding done on them on the outside or the inside. I think that’s why a lot of those motorhomes are having a lot of problems.
OMG Josh, That was a great explanation of the process. Thank you for sharing. I wish you were able to do more of these in other plants. But keep the great content coming. I'll be watching... Thanks again, Pat
I have been watching a lot of Alliance videos in the past few months. I am very impressed with this brand and their construction! Hopefully one day we can trade our 5th wheel for an Alliance.
Such a cool process to see, thank you Uncle Josh for the tour and shout out to Alliance for pulling back the curtain and showing your process to us all
40:00 mark describes the outside walls on my Forest River Arctic Wolf 3660SUITE. They underlayment I believe is luan which expanded creating vertical ridges across the entire side, both sides. Those don't concern me but the bulge at the rear of the front bed slide does, and it is not from water damage.
My pleasure! As always I love your profile pic. Decided to make a run back thru fallout 4. Never played all the expanded content - only the base game. Eager to see what's new
Such a cool look at how the secret sauce is made! Favorite part was the world's largest air hockey table, but when you said "like a hovercraft", first thing that popped into my mind was a passage from that timeless Hungarian phrase book "My hovercraft is full of eels" (Monty Python™)
Watching that machine bend that long piece of aluminum was weirdly satisfying. 😁 Area 51 Blue! Smart color. I have the F150 in the same skin. I LOVE it! 🤩 Thanks for the tour. Very interesting!
I like how the manufactures give you free rain to just walk and show what's going on. That says a lot about a company and their integrity. Now if only they sold the RV without an interior for a DIY build.
As always, another great video Josh. Thanks to the Alliance crew for the behind-the-scenes look. I love your plant tours and industry updates as much as the model review videos. Thanks and keep up the good work. It's much appreciated.
Thank You , Josh another great video to keep us informed and educated. When they attach the sidewall to the frame what do they use to attach it? Look like a great built trailer.
I think I might've touched on that here: th-cam.com/video/mMKhkSXgnmI/w-d-xo.html It's been so long They're fastened up from the bottom thru the outriggers
Interesting video. I'm surprised the cutoff saws aren't automated. They would have a lot more precision and consistency. The important thing about lamination is that the adhesive makes a good bond between the parts. How that bond is accomplished has no real involvement in the life span.
I wish Alliance made smaller/ lighter campers in their Delta line, currently their lightest trailer has a dry weight of 4,992lbs. That’s too heavy for most SUVs and the market seems to favor the smaller trailers right now. Hopefully they release something in the future as they look very well made.
Josh im looking for a toy hauler overlander. (I referred to it in a previous video as a "Maxi-Pod." Only problem is, I have a Jeep. (3500lbs gross tow weigjt). If I can fit my dualsport motorcycle in it im happy. Keep making all these great videos, you have a lot of support out there! Thanks. -Brian
Interesting, Didn’t notice them chamfering the tubing where they join and weld. But did see grind marks. If it wasn’t chamfered welds could crack were grinded.. Noticed woman and guy routing didn’t have respirators on. Dust from material could cause medical problems down the road. Metal working and welding are two of my expertises. Metal working could lead to cancers later in life which I unfortunately found out. Good video Josh and thanks to Alliance
I asked Drew about that. This is what he had to say: _“Chamfering tubes is typically done on material that is at least 3mm thick. It’s done to maximize strength and weld penetration. Because of the material we use, the welding wire we use, and the fact we pulse weld we can achieve maximum strength without having to chamfer the material first. We have been working with our welding specialists to develop a quality control process that will help us to continuously monitor this exact situation. We will use a Dye Penetrant combination. This will allow us to ensure optimal weld penetration and greatly reduce the potential for failure.”_
Alodine is an anti-corrosive. Aluminum is usually dipped in it, this is a standard practice for sheet metal parts used on aircraft. It is highly carcinogenic.
A real pro of their construction is putting bracing around the portals! Unfortunately, they should consult a structural engineer to optimize what they are doing there because making a couple of changes will actually help resist the forces perpendicular to the wall generated by the slideout movements much better. They do seem to also incorporate more framing in their walls than I have seen in several of their competitors. 👍 The insulation... Well, there’s so much better material available today but what they (and many others) are using is as cheap as it gets and can be called insulation... ☹️
They're the best selling series of destination trailer out there for quite a few years. I wouldn't say its the "best built" destination RV i've seen but it does bring a lot of bang for the buck Folks who have them seem to enjoy them and keep them quite a while. We sure dont get them back on trade!
Josh, can you answer my question please about why they do not weld the aluminum tubes all the way around to make the RV stronger can you please answer that question for me I would really appreciate it because I am looking for a fifth wheel and I would like a strong fifth wheel But if I see, they’re not welding these tubes all the way around I don’t know if I would wanna buy another motorhome fifth wheel or travel trailer so can you please get that answer for me?
Josh, seriously, stop producing all of this great content. 😂 Great video and those look like well-made trailers. Unfortunately, their Lightest trailer is too heavy for my Taco.
32 years welding and manufacturing. I'm impressed.
High marks!

Thank You Nerd!!! Thank You Alliance!!! Thank You Drew!!! I appreciate the time, effort and openness that went into this video!
We had a great time

Thanks for the tour, Josh. 2022 Avenue 31BHS here, and the floor is nice and solid.
My pleasure!

Glad you like them!
Thank you Josh and Alliance for providing the field trip today. Educational.
Ty for visiting 😃
Great job Josh. Your making feel good about my decision to get a 2025 294RK.
I love that layout
Thanks, Mr. Drew, for your contribution to this excellent video!
He did great. Taught me a lot
Such a cool process to see, thank you Uncle Josh for the tour and shout out to Alliance for pulling back the curtain and showing your process to us all

Thanks, Josh and Alliance. I like to see under the hood. I had no idea that fiberglass was shipped in big rolls like carpet!
Yeah it’s kinda crazy to see
Thank you Alliance and Josh for the great explanation.🎉

Thanks Josh, Drew, and Alliance. Very informative!

@@JoshtheRVNerd Happy to help a fellow Fallout nerd! I have a few mods that make the game more fun in some ways.

*Liking what I see, I think the rear kitchen might be our next trailer.*
They do some really good work. What model were you thinking? 294 perhaps?
@@JoshtheRVNerd yes sir, the 294RK. perfect for us.
@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS good pick!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Drew, thanks Josh - very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Josh and Alliance for this tour. I'm always interested in how things are made. Well done!

Man.. I just don’t know of anything in a hauler that’ll fit a 3500lb rating
thanks for vid
No problem!
Any chance you could do the same type of video on Northwoods RV's? I would like to see that plant in detail.
It’s possible but I’d need to basically set a trip out west for it
Maybe someone can give them plumbing lessons next.
Or you can just not buy an rv.
@@chrisbuxton2778 or maybe buy a better made rv.
Awesome insight, so is Azdel similar but minus the use of wood filler?
Azdel is a substitute for wood paneling used in the wall layers. Unrelated to how they stuff their aluminum skeletons

It could interfere with the level laminating plane for substrates which creates air pockets and delam
#RVNerdHerd 🎉 😊 🎉
If I can just win the lottery I can finally get one !
lol
Is the inserted wood glued in place or flops around inside the aluminum frame?
It’s the length of the tube, then a screw runs thru it. At that point it’s going nowhere.
Josh, seriously, stop producing all of this great content.
😂

I would need an adapter thrown in no charge and i would purchase a fith wheel 🤓
