Here you will learn the differences between a Flat and a Street/Park bike, what makes a flat bike a flat bike, what tricks you should learn as a beginner, what the learning process involves, and more! People here already think i'm crazy because of doing circle wheelies all day long since months.
I've been learning much from your channel since i start digging for flatland, from the beginning of the pandemic, when i went in layoff and rebuilt my bike. Now i started working again but i go practice always when i can.
Story of my life haha, I was just talking with my friend about this the other day. Sweeping a flat empty spot, then riding in circles for hours, people watching from their houses or cars and us wondering what they're thinking 😂 But I believe we are the ones doing what we love and having fun, so who cares 🚲 That's awesome thank you for watching and following, I'm glad my videos can be of help! so cool that you got to rebuild your bike and ride again, enjoy and if you ever need any advice you know where to come ! Thanks for this video, it is super useful. I'm thinking about starting BMX, and flatland also came to my mind. I'm looking for infos how to start this sport when you are not a teenager. Also loved nutrition infos, those are also important. Love your thinking and mentality.

Coming from a very street oriented style. I want to learn flatland and the geometry of the bikes are so different. I ride a Sunday with a 20.75 top tube and 13 chain stay. The only things I found in common are 4 pegs and freecoaster. I ride 2.5 tires. Never would I thought 1.8 tires would be a recommended size tire. My stem is a 48mm stem and I ride 10 tall bars with 15 offset forks. Definitely needed this video because I’m always doing flatland style tricks on a street setup and my friends are street and I wanted to learn something different from the rest because I feel like flatland is a dying style and I would love to get my friends into it and my friend get others into it and grow it in my town.
Honestly at this point in time I think flat bikes are very similar to street builds. For example at the moment I'm riding 2.3 KHE tyres, a 20.25 TT with a 13.25 chainstay, 10'' bars, only zero offset forks, I will be switching to 1.95 tyres soon though as I feel they will be a perfect middle point. But any flat tricks you can try on any bike, flat geometry just makes it slightly easier and more comfortable when you attempt the same trick 1000's of times to learn it heh. But respect for getting into flat I love it! I don't personally think it's dying, it's actually grown a lot in recent years especially when you look at schools in Japan or france and such, but I feel you it's a very niche community

Hiya Mik, over the past few "decades" Ive had and built loads of BMXs and MTBs etc. And seen thousands of frames and bikes. But other than a pricey "pure" flatland frame/bike etc. Has there been any sreet or park BMXs over the last gew years you noticed or know could do well on flat? Most times people just mention sizes, parts and angles etc. But a video with a list of potential candidates would also be good especiallywith so many used bmxs about.

Hi Ricky! Thanks a lot! To answer your question, I don't think there is many options for a ''cheap'' flatland bike, the completes out there are all around the same price range. However an option you do have is finding a second hand custom or new stock bike (even if its a street or park build), if it comes with a freecoaster then even better. Then replacing any parts you want on that one with aftermarket parts overtime, getting some tyres that can handle 100+psi. You can ride flat on any bike with a coaster really, regardless of geometry, the flat specific parts only make things more responsive and possibly easier to learn new moves with

Well that depends on your budget, there are some KHE and Colony flatland completes out there for around 4-500 that have all you need, although may be a little small in regards to frame size but I'm not sure! Otherwise you can really ride on any BMX with pegs and a freecoaster, so if you buy a second hand bike with some aftermarket parts and throw pegs on it that could be an option, or you can simply do what most people do which is get yourself a street complete bike and as parts break or you want to switch them you replace them one by one, and if you really want to invest then you could build a new bike from scratch. I'm a little over 6' and I ride a 20.25 Haro LaBastille, with 10'' Heresy bars and Deco zero offset forks and that's comfortable for me just to give you an idea of sizes. This was a great video. Ive been a personal trainer for 8 years. I did BMX for years and dabbled in some Flatland. Im Thinking of getting back into it for some diversity and Don't want to get hurt from Normal BMX. Im Curious how my body would respond now since Ive been training hard for so long. I wanted a complete but their Top tubes are pretty short. im 5'11. I had a KHE equillibrium Frame from back in the day thinking of building that back up because everything else was crap on it.
The equilibrium is a beautiful frame slap that bad boy together and get back out on it dood🤘

Still confused on the geometry. I’m 5 10” height and was looking at the KHE Plasma for flatland or the Wethepeople Sinus. The KHE is 21.25 where as the Sinus is 19tt. In your honest opinion which would the better to run with for my height?

Hi Adi, what frame you get is up to you and personal preference, however personally I ride a 20.25 Haro Labastille and with 9'' bars I find the geometry perfect, some people my height prefer shorter frames though, but I'd say you have an idea what you want. They're 115 mm, which I'd consider long for peg size in Flat. Of course all depends on foot and shoe sizes. What size do you ride?
