  • Here's an 87 Buick Regal Heater-Core R & R Clip ... just pay note to the little hidden things (and I'll show you ALL those little secret [mostly screws] here), and YOU can do it. Use a Delco Core: Part No. 15-60026 / GM 52479872 that are everywhere / and THEN "just take your time". It's easy !.

    Very helpful except that I didn’t listen very well. I forgot to remove two hidden screws in the air intake, used force, and broke a few small pieces from the cover and cracked it in several places. I think I can fix it. My car is a 1990 Buick LeSabre estate wagon. I couldn’t find an OEM Brass heater core so I’m going with the Aluminum Chinese one. Honestly the coolant smell wasn’t that bad. I never should have touched it. Too late now, have to press on.

    Where did you locate the mold foam material that was deteriorated ? did you substituted with some other material?

    • @TommyZTrains
      @TommyZTrains  ปีที่แล้ว

      Originally it was a chemically treated piece of material to help ward off fungicide and mold (as you know), but what I used was 3M scotch-bright pads treated with Lysol (in the small bottle / the “real-strong stuff”).
      At the Dealership level (to help abate mold amid a stinky / moldy smell of "dampness"), was to remove the blower resistor cluster / and “sauce” the evap. core from in there. 🥴

      There were different designs / but yeah, they were short lived most of the time.

    Can not find that heater core no where even put the parts number on Ebay motor, nowhere!

    • @TommyZTrains
      @TommyZTrains  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hum ... "perhaps the No. changed" ?. I bought a couple of spares / as my other cars will likely crap-out to. Perhaps you can take it to your local radiator shop and they'll fix it / tank-it / and boil it out. Such a common part surprises me / amid non-availability !. Best of luck

    • @TommyZTrains
      @TommyZTrains  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you buy that heater core on EBay ?, (GM-9088) ... anyway, just watch as they ARE coming-up 4 sale rather often / very common part.
      78-87's are all the same ... :- )

      @@jamespeoples4657 That's so crazy / and; for a "still" popular car !. Just get an Aluminum core and you'll be fine (which is a bit off / but will work fine that everyone seems to have). WHO KNOWS: "THEIR PROBABLY BETTER" ?!!!
