I'm so grateful for your channel! You'll never know just how much. Your passion and enthusiasm has encouraged me to finally start painting. I don't care if I make a giant mess, it's all about the fun I have while doing it. It's just made me so very happy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Love from Kansas, US.
Lovely Thursday morning. Never apologize for a short or long video, we love watching all your adventures and paintings that come for your travels! Cheers🥰
This is a lovely video, Gaynor. Thanks for taking us along on this journey your holiday! I’m always amazed at how you scrub and scratch some paint on paper and it ends up looking lovely! THAT is what it means to trust the process! ☺️
Wow! I was totally tricked by the boat bottom as I thought, for a second or three, it was a painting! Such a little gem to stumble across. Don’t you love it when the naughty gods interfere, just for a moment, with your visual reality and show you new potential? Love Cornwall, so many memories from waaaay back in my youth. Thank you Gaynor.
Hello Gaynor. Thank you for taking us to Cornwall. It took me straight back to happy childhood memories. I loved those times. I loved your adjusted seascape with newly added swimmers too. Much more appealing than a shark😂 You take care and have a lovely week💐
What a fun and relaxing time you had. I love all your sketches and paintings from this trip. Can’t wait to see you paint big or small from them. As always watching you with my coffee in hand makes my morning special. Thank you and see you next week.
Thank you so much for taking us on your travels Gaynor. It is so inspiring to watch you work in and out of the studio. Love the shark story and the figures! They give things an almost nostalgic feel. Take care ❤
Mousehole reminds me of the film Fisherman’s Friends!! I love the glimpses from your outings and trips. I’ve actually paused videos to take photos for my reference library. So thanks for that!! Sending you healing thoughts.
Enjoyed seeing you re-work pieces! What a beautiful country you have. Have always wanted to go to Cornwall. When you travel, I feel like I'm on the trip too (so nice to get away!) Thanks so much Gaynor. Hugs to you.
I look forward to your very enjoyable video each week. I resist with difficulty until my first day off and enjoy it all the more. Thankyou so much for sharing yourself with us!
Lovely episode! I have learned so much by watching you and became less afraid of just “going for it”! Thank you so much for your time with us via video! Until next week…🌻🩷🌻 Nancy - from Pennsylvania USA
Being side tracked is not a bad thing my friend. It means you are busy living life and experimenting. I quite like the addition of the people in the water, gave it a lift for sure. I also liked the smaller paper with the three swimmers. Fun stuff. LOVED the small tour of the gallery, beautiful works. The boat was wonderful and I liked your peaceful dreary day. I have the end of summer blahs at the moment. Autumn color nor temperatures have started yet in my patch of desert so even my scenery is blah. I should sneak away and go to one of my lakes to get a bit of inspiration perhaps. TFS! Wishing you a happy week.
Gaynor that was full of movement, interest & the weather wakes us up. Thanks you for sharing your painting process & walking with artist eyes. You give me hope that I can work in this really strong teal acrylic color called Souther Ocean Blue( Matisse) The bottle holds 4.5 oz. It will last me for years😊The bottom of the boat great texture inspiration. The shark comment 😆I’ve suggested human & dog footprints on beach. Your people in frame acrylics 💚🐾🗺️
Hello from a new subscriber! 🤗Someone commented on one of my videos recommending your channel and I am SO glad that they did. You are an absolute joy, and I am really looking forward to following your creative journey.
Loved this Gaynor, Mrs Bertimus also filmed in the Newlyn Gallery last week, such a treat to see it again. I loved the photos and also thought the boat was a painting. Here in Wales it’s getting colder and colder so wrap up😱❤️
hello Gaynor, thank you for today's inspiration! I'm off pull a few weeds and do a few blind contours in my garden this morning. Then, to the beach! What a fun illusion the bottom of the boat was! Seeing is believing . . . have a wonderful week, stay warm! ~ Deborah
Brrr, I could feel that chilly wind there in Cornwall 😅 So nice to get to share your trips, and especially nice to see the sea. Crazy how much the weather affects our plein air painting. I'm here in the Sonoran desert and 101 degrees F today, and way too hot to try to paint outdoors. Good luck trying to keep paint wet enough to use here. Great video as always Gaynor. Much love, Molly x
@@gaynorpattle I live in the sunniest place in the whole U.S. and so long as you can take the heat in a few months of summer, the rest of the year is bliss. Great mild winters, which is the best time of the year. xxx
Thank you Gaynor, taking me back to that area of Cornwall where my son and his family lived. A painter's paradise. A walk to the Mount, lovely view of it from the hill. Had to giggle when you said MouseHole, we were corrected by locals who said Mowzel 😁 place names can be tricky. I didnt know theres a Cornish tartan !! Rocket will look very smart. Thanks again, till next time.....Alioban ❤🐕x
I love these landscapes you have done! And thanks for taking us out- so much fun! I’m coming to England in a few weeks so I’m excited about seeing some of this beautiful landscape!
Oh I always love your videos Gaynor, you give me such confidence to just play with paint and other arty materials every day and enjoy it immensely too. It’s also really nice to see the pretty places you visit. Thankyou lovely lady.
Loved seeing your trip to Cornwall, just a shame about the weather. But like everything you do you don’t let it stop your creative side bursting through. Love your idea of the sections of a painting becoming small one off’s. It’s lovely seeing you look so well. 😊
Thank you Deborah, we drove home today in lovely sunshine !!! I am excited about taking my favourite smalls and growing them....will see ! Have a wonderful week XX
Gaynor I love it when you share your travels. Just the most beautiful scenery. I live in the USA & have never gotten to visit England although I would love to. My ancestery is Scottish & a Campbell. Interesting about the tartans. I'm having a terrible time getting in art time in my days. It seems that I feel like I need to do all the household things first & then there's no time left for what I really want to do. I think I am going to limit my household things to noon or 1pm & then spend the afternoons getting in my art time. I wondered if you struggle with this or have any ideas. I think it stems from early childhood for me when we had to do our work first before play time. At 65 I'm still in that mode. LOL
Hello Anita, I know exactly what you mean...."jobs first, play after" I do the chores at speed so that I can get to some art before lunch. OR because my art flow is better in the morning, I go straight to it and chores wait until the afternoon. It has taken me so long to realise that I have the freedom to make art a priority and I am so much happier for it ! Take one day this week and allow yourself just one hour to make art (set a timer) and see how it feels. Have FUN XXX
Hi Lovely 🌸 🌸🌸 LOVE Cornwall!!! You’ve made me miss it 😱 We normally go every year but it’s been nothing but hard slog this year 😳 We are decorating our home and garden….haven’t done anything for 13 yrs! We have SO much to do still….will it ever end 🤪 We’ve stayed at Carbis Bay and done the coastal walk. 😊 Love Mousehole! So interesting and picturesque. Have you been to Portscatho? Roseland peninsula. Lots of Artists there. Lovely place very friendly arty people. We stayed at the Rosevine hotel….lovely hotel…Amazing food! Recommend! There is a lovely walk to Portscatho from there. We never go back to a hotel twice…we like to try new places but this one I would go again and again…we have already been back there! There is a gastro hut half way on the walk and in the summer they have banquets on the beach …it is well known by the posh London visitors that descend on it every year. The galleries in Portscatho are filled with the most Amazing artists work! 🤩 Such inspiration! You’d LOVE it! Sorry I digress….should be putting my peas and Kale in the poly tunnel and raking out lots of soil….wonder why I’m not doing it ?? 😄 If I see another shovel I’ll 😱 Loved the bottom of the boat reference!! Looks Amazing 😊 Still can’t get over how quickly you draw! 🤩 Thanks for all the inspiration 😘 ❤️❤️❤️ Hope you have a Joyous week 🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️ Yay!…
Hi Teresa, YES it will end and it will be amazing ! Thank you for the Roseland peninsula recommendation - we love the look of it X I have to let you know that I often fast forward on drawing !!!! Good luck with your peas and kale .... I like the sound of a poly tunnel XXXX
Lovely trip to the beach even if it is windy and cold. That "shark" suggestion was amusing. Perhaps a boat on the beach. I like the addition of people. Those were brave people who went swimming in that cold water. Thank you for taking us on your outings.
Amazes me to see flora which appear to be tropical, in England. So lovely. Those expansive beaches are beautifully awesome. Is there always wind by the sea? I am so landlocked in the mountains and can't clearly remember my few experiences but they still influence the tempest in my abstract painting. Thank you, Gaynor for inspiring me.
Hi Gaynor- just an fyi I was thinking of you while tending my garden this past week. My new favorite plant this season is "Ballerina White" Gaura. It's so delicate but so fiercely hardy, and the small white blossoms on their long stems dance in the slightest of breeze, AND it has a light & lovely scent! I was remembering how much you liked those grasses doing the same at the castle you visited. I hope you google it to see the loveliness and give it a try in your lovely garden! Loving your lavender & green botanicals- Karen
Went to Cornwall this time last year and it was positively tropical. Got some great paintings inspired by St Michael’s Mount. Only got a few scrapes from the roadside brambles on the car😂. Glad to see you are having fun, and collecting inspiration along the way. Xxx
