    What a great review--thank you--the frost was also amazing! Celestron's Tank Pro looks neat... but am unsure how to ensure easy compatibility with my vintage C5 and Classic 8 scopes (I want to liberate them from 240V mains supply cables and still have RA drive). It would be nice if I could just plug the scope's three-prong 240V AC power plug into the Tank Pro... is that even possible?

      I don't think it is, sorry to say.

    thanks for this review! I saw on a picture in the web (but in a bad angle, so I couldn't verify) that on the opposite side of the cigarette-lighter plug it also has the round 5.5mm dc-plug as well, is that correct?

      Yes it does. You charge the battery with it or can use to power a scope with the included 5.5mm to 5.5mm plug. That's a good point actually 👍

    You made a majormistake in this video. The battery is not a Lithium-Ion, It is a LifePo4 which is Lithium Phosphate. They are better than a lithium ion battery as they have far more energy density and will last much longer without degrading. A similar capacity lithium ion battery would weight over 10lbs more. These batteries also will not catch fire if punctured unlike lithium ion batterys, use no colbalt or other rare earth metals and are extremely environmentally friendly. The port that you use to charge it can also be used to power your mount. That's what the other cable that comes with it is for and is how I power my CGEM off of mine.

      I'll trust your feedback as I don't know otherwise. Thanks.

    You didn’t run any dew heater in your test which is pretty mandatory for a lot of imagers.

      Lol, I'd agree as you saw how the scope looked. I think I covered that pretty well if you watch the video.

    Hello Vlad from Montreal Canada! I had just bought a Baader zoom eyepiece yesterday and when i took a look at the bottom end, there is a dust particle on the inside of the lens. In your opinion should i go back and exchange the eyepiece for another one or just live with it?
    Thanks and take care!

    • @AVTAstro
      @AVTAstro  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's new o personaly would not accept dust on the inside lenses.

      @@AVTAstro Thanks for the reply! Ya that's how i feel too, i'll go back to exchange it for another one. Thanks! Keep up the good work and looking forward to the next video!

    Can you charge it with your car? Like if you go to a star party can you charge off your car or do you need a 110v inverter?

    • @AVTAstro
      @AVTAstro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see why you soild not be able to as long as its at last a 5A output. Issue is that it does take a long time to charge. And if your car is not running it will kill your cars battery.

    • @MountainFisher
      @MountainFisher ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AVTAstro Oh yeah, definitely run the car, but only for an hour or so to just keep it from running down. Depending on how much use you put on it.

      Check the charger. LifeP04 batteries need a special charger and i don't know if the BMS is in the charger or device.

      You can but these batteries take about 6 hours to fully charge from dead. So I'd recommend charging it before hand. If you're going to be out there for a couple days bring a small inverter generator or a solar charging system with you so that you can charge it during the day. I'd also recommend building a larger battery box out of BioEnno brand LifePo4 Batteries (that's what this pack uses). For around $500-$600 you can build one with twice the capacity and add all kinds of outlets to it so that you can power just about anything. LifePo4 batteries are looking like the furture of lithiu batteries. They are extremely environmentally friendly, have a high power density and are extremely safe to use/store as they do not ignite if they get punctured.

      NO YOU CANNOT!!! These require a 16v input, not 13.8v (car battery). You would need a 5amp step up boost converter or "buck up" circuit to take the cars battery to 16v. Other than that, any decent 16v supply will work. I spoke to celestron and they confirmed the charging circuit is indeed inside the unit.

    18V One+ 150-Watt battery power source and charger RYi150CBT
    Now
    This is expensive 12v power $50 and if you dont have power hand tools you need a 18v 2Ah to 16Ah battery buy.
    but
    It is a killer R&R battery C usb light and easy 12v power source.

      I looked up that unit(i use Ryobi power tools myself) and it looks like it can be a good solution if you already have the batteries.

    Nice video, have had one for about 5 years now, never had one issue, only thing was top cap snapped off after a freeze but it still snaps on. Find a way to charge it if going out somewhere for more than 1-2 nights.

      That cover always breaks off of these. the hinge wasn't made very durable. But like you said you can still put it on just try not to lose it. Not sure what happened to mine.
