Hey Kyle, congrats on everything so far! I am in the middle of nowhere so my favorite local roaster is me. I had an idea for a kind of niche market/need in the coffee space you might be interested in filling. Have you considered offering a sample of green along your roasted coffee so home roasters can test their skills against a bench mark? Possibly doing a bundle of 16oz roasted 16oz green (or whatever quantity makes sense). I think myself and a lot of other home roasters(especially new ones) would take advantage of this and grant you access to an untapped market.

One of my local roasters is She Brews. Roasts in house every Thursday. Partners with a ministry to help women transition from incarceration to life and helps reunite them with their children. Helps with housing, financial support and life support as they make the transition.

I really like the idea of not wasting Good but not perfectly up to your standards coffees and offering those at a discounted price like I noticed on your website! Hopefully you keep that (even if you're making less mistakes heh).

I was wondering why you coffees where a bit more expensive than comparable roasters. I'm super happy to hear that you are producer focused. To me makes a huge it makes a difference in who i buy coffee from. Giving producers a living or better wage should be the goal of all. I grew up working on a farm and i know how much blood, sweat and tears go into being a farmer.
PS. Are you planning for a small retail space at that location?
We’re only more expensive than those who aren’t sourcing from the same level of transparency or quality, I think you’ll find us the same or cheaper than similar options for ingredient quality.
We don’t plan to, no. Maybe in the distant future

As a Kickstarter purchaser and subsequent monthly subscriber of September Coffee, I can confidently say that you are all doing AMAZING work! You must have figured out how to get 30 hours of work done in a day, as you're on top of everything and excelling at it! Amazing - thank you for roasting great coffee and for making great online content! Would love to visit the roastery if it's ever open to the public.
I've also tried Vereda Central Coffee Roasters - good stuff, but limited to mainly blends from Columbia, with some Colombian single origins too (but no price transparency). They're a cafe that also offers roasted coffee, with locations in Toronto and Oakville, Ontario - worth checking out if you're in the area.
How can I as Dutch person buy your coffee because we don't use credit cards to pay online. Here in Europe we use ideal most of the time

20Grams coffee roasters in Singapore. They recently upgraded to a loring as well!!
Hey I really love what you are doing with September, I am a bit curious about your decision to name some of the coffees you sell after various beverages (pink lemonade, cola, etc.), not the farms/regions/producers. What is the thought process here? Not a massive issue or anything, just an interesting choice that I noticed.
We do this with specific coffees with specific volumes. First - even though a coffee is named we take meaningful consideration into the farmer/producer by associating an info card with that coffee sharing details about the farmer and their work. Including transparent pricing information.
We do this as we love associating taste experiences and memories to describe a coffee (beyond tasting notes). We believe this is helpful for those newer to purchasing coffee but also, creates a fun and exiting way to describe the work of a producer.

Once everything is fully up and running, with the roaster in place, etc., would you ever consider opening your roastery to the public to visit/view the operations (to the extent that it wouldn't interfere) - something similar to how wineries/breweries offer tours? Personally, that would be really cool!

So, new roaster - why not electric? I know almost nothing about roasting, so apologies if that is an overly optimistic question 😅. What I do know is that in James’ video about Bellweather’s roaster, it seemed like the tech is here and can complete with natural gas. Is there skepticism about this in the industry? Caveats us laypeople don’t realize? Does it come down to cost?
There aren’t many that can roast larger than 9kg. Also, our facility doesn’t have the infrastructure
