Very cool cooking segment Andy! Like lots of Portuguese recipes they vary from police to place and family to family. It is basically sautéed onions and garlic in olive oil and varies from there. You really don’t enjoy super fresh mackerel? I love it grilled or with that Cebolada! I’m seriously craving some. They are one of the healthiest things you can eat :-)
First trip of the year is always black sea bass opening week (pending sea state) My daughter (10 now) hasn't missed a trip in 4 years, it's probably our favorite fishery and we catch all NE has to offer. This video was great, had a nice personal touch.
Black sea bass are our favorite catch. We make fish cakes out of them and pan fry them. Grind up the filets in the Ninja, make them into patties coated in cracker crumbs. Delicious.
i was watching one of your vids and it gave the range of the black sea bass from the east coast around to the gulf to south padre island can that be sent to me and where to find them in Texas and Louisiana?
The best Black Sea bass lure hands down is the epoxy jig or any other small metal jig. You can’t keep it in the water for 5 seconds without getting a bite
Hey, great fun video guys. I've never had the pleasure of fishing for bsb before, but I'd love to do it. 1st step appears I need a boat. Don't think a canoe is gonna cut it from what I can tell. But how best do I start? Is buzzards bay the way to go? Anywhere along the cape Ocean side from Falmouth to chatham? What kind of depth/fish finders will I need to even get me going, especially w/out lots of money to spend? I got tackle and gear I can use for sure, but would love a pointer in the other areas.
Hey Kyle, thanks for watching! We'd recommend you try out one of the party boats that offer bottom fishing trips during black sea bass season. They can be a great way to get out on the water and the mates and captains are extremely knowledgeable. They usually have charters ranging from half days to full days and the price is very affordable. Patriot Party Boats in Falmouth is a great option in this area but there are others around from the Cape to Long Island that offer similar trips. Just don't forget to tip your mates!
This was early June. The sea bass season opens in late May, and peak Season runs through mid-June in Buzzards Bay, before they move back to deeper water.
There is a growing population of black sea bass north of Cape Cod. There's an article about that running in the March Issue of On The Water Magazine (and at OnTheWater.com sometime next month).
@@OnTheWaterMedia Awesome can't wait to read! (already a magazine subscriber) Was amazed to see small bonito up in my area (outside Gloucester harbor) late august. catching them on sabiki rigs while targeting macks.
The MA fishery opens up on May 18th but we filmed this in early June. RI has different sea bass regulations. I believe the RI season starts 6/24 this year. www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/mfsizes.php#recre
@ 13:06 what the hell are you doing lmao ??? Supposed to be left hand on the reel, right hand on the handle. You were right hand on the reel, left hand crossing over to crank the handle, and in free spool lol. Love the show but what a mess!
It's more of a decision having to do with a bigger profile than holding bottom with a smaller offering for me. The 6" grub will slow down a 6oz spro quite a bit for keeping a natural presentation even in shallow water.

Awesome video as always! Can't wait for the season to open up here in NJ

I just caught one of these in Maine. Never caught one here before so I had to look it up, then I found this video.
They have been creeping north the last few years.
What time of spring was this?

Can I find these up in Gloucester?

can u hold button with like 3 ox to keep it light tackle
In 30' of water last year i was using 1oz epoxy jigs. A 6oz hi lo is super overkill.
The bigger profile does a great job at weeding out the better fish.
was this is early may? can I catch keeper sea bass in ri in may?

6oz hi low an 6" gulp/zman? Thats heavy for fluke rigs in 100'. You guys need way lighter shit.
Not if there in a lot of current
@@philipgeraldi1342 in 30' of water in buzzards bay, What current?
