I just found you and really enjoy watching you. Since finding you, I am going through your videos. I love them all!! I am a fellow thrifter that also loves to repurpose and use items found. Thanks for being you!!
You are so knowledgeable. I enjoyed watching and what you'd done. Ill have to go and finish the replay and go find your blog spot. God bless and thanks 😊
Cindy, thank you so much for all the information on the tools and materials you used.....very helpful! This milk can looks amazing! I love how you softened the line on the transfer you used, blending it into the paint, and the distressing on the can and transfer gave it that aged look. Love it!
Glad it was helpful Lori! I think changing the edges of the transfer with sanding and paint really made it look like it had been there for years😊thanks for watching
This turned out so pretty. I appreciate all of the prep info as I wasn't sure what products to use. I will watch your other video before working on my own milk can which I use as a plant stand.
This milk can turned out so awesome. I’ve done one milk can over but I still have another n I like your idea with the transfer. You’ve definitely inspired me. I don’t have any Dixie Bell paint but I do have Fusion paint which is awesome. It’s a paint, primer n a finish coat all in one. My milk can won’t be out in the weather. I’ll keep mine in the carport where I usually hang out with my Dolly ( she’s a Beagle) Thanks Cindy for this great idea n all the info. ♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🌟
I’m so glad you enjoyed the project! Fusion is an awesome paint! I’m sure your milk can will look amazing and you will have fun giving it new life! Happy painting!😊
Thank you so much for showing this particular vlog! As I mentioned in one of my previous vlogs my aunt had one and stenciled her milk can. I know she stencilled it the old fashioned way using paint with sponges. Please tell me you remember stencilling that way! Lol!
I absotely remember stencil the old fashioned way! Girl, I have stenciled a kazillion things of the years! DIY has been such a blessing to me - it's a way to be creative and productive at the same time! I'm so glad you enjoyed this project Donna! 😊
I just love milk cans. I recently was gifted a milk can that was my grandparents. It is painted from the 70's tole painting and it has the year they were married and their 60th wedding anniversary date. I have it by my recliner because it reminds me of them, although the style is not mine. I am considering taking a picture of it and attaching it to the inside of the lid and then repainting it. I just don't know. The milk jug came from their family dairy barn from back in the 40's. ugh I just don't know what to do!!!! I even thought about buying another one at the antique mall and painting that and just leaving this, but it will not mean anything really to my kids, because they were too young when my grandparents passed away. When it comes to sentimental items I could be a hoarder. LOL I love the way yours turned out!!! The decal looks so pretty.
Your treasure sounds amazing! And your idea of taking a photograph is brilliant! I’m not trying to convince you of painting over it but here is a thought: it already had a makeover in the 70s Someone wanted it to look nice in their decor so they changed it😉 wink wink! I have thought a lot about changing pieces to go with our homes aesthetic and then I think ‘would the original owner rather me make it over and enjoy it or would they rather me not enjoy and possibly stick it in a closet or worse, throw it out.’ Anyway, that’s just some food for thought!😊😊
Hello. I'm excited to see your take on how to do this. Blessings to all!😅My entire can looks like the underneath side of your. ❓ what do I do with it? How do I even start?
The first thing to do is to remove the loose rust. I have used an orbital sander. Wear safety googles, a ventilation mask and be in a well ventilated area. You will be amazed how much rust will come off with a sander! It’s work but we’ll worth it😊😊
So sorry you are disappointed! We all like different styles. Thanks for chiming in! If I come across another milk can, maybe I will make it over differently😊
Wow, you are such an incredible teacher! Thankyou!!!!!
Wow, thank you! Your comment made my day! Thanks for watching 😊😊
