    I’ve always felt that I look awkward when I dance 😂 this sounds like a nice activity to get out of my comfort zone! I’m also a very observant person and it sounds like watching everyone dance freely would be so fun to watch ❤

      So many people do! That's why it's so freeing to be in a nonjudgmental space to just move how you want :)

    I was also at Ecstatic Forest last year. I came across your video while I am preparing to start ecstatic dance in my area in the RGV

    It gives vibes for a form of yoga/tai chi/meditation/rhythmic movements. These classes encourage others to let out the weird, goofy, uncoordinated, non traditional person within you. A place where the outside world disappears to focus on yourself; mind, body, spirit and breathing. It could be a new lifestyle to help reduce stress, work on muscle movement, balance, sort out your emotions, find inner peace and quiet.

    Very interesting! Thanks for sharing! Is there ever an problem with bumping into other people or accidentally hurting someone because everyone is doing their own thing and maybe arent aware of what's happening around them? I feel like that might keep me from really getting lost in the dancing.

      sometimes we bump into each other, but rarely- and very very rarely does someone get hurt. It's weird- but you can kind of sense people and where they are in the space and where they are moving to. People are often doing their own thing, but it's still a collective energy from sharing the space and I think that's why the awareness extends beyond yourself more.

      It is! I love it so much :) Austin was incredible! I didn't spend much time in the actual city itself, but what I did see was wonderful. I would love to go back!

    This sounds similar to a movement practice I'm certified in as a facilitator called dancing mindfulness. There's a book and tons on TH-cam videos if you wanna check it out!

      Thank you! I will! Also, amazing that you're certified as a facilitator in that practice

      @@KelseySelene It is awesome! Ironically I just finished with the annual retreat we have every year. Your form of dance was brought up as an example of what dancing mindfulness isn't really. Prior to your video I hadn't even heard of it!

    You compared this to going to a club, albeit much different. Would you consider this something that mostly single people do? Would you want a significant other doing this without you?

    • @KelseySelene
      @KelseySelene  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a great question. There are plenty of both single people and people in relationships who go to ecstatic dance. Sometime people in relationship chose to only dance with each other or alone and other couples feel fine with each other dancing freely with others in the space. It depends on the people, the relationship, and the boundaries they communicate about and create.
