    • @jajison
      @jajison 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's called "washing" and is only really good for poker because it's played on felt. On a hard table, the cards will be rubbed together at the edges wrong because nothing can really go under the cards unless it is forced to.

    I will add, Mana-weaving (stacking 2 non lands, to 1 land roughly) helps with dry/flood hands even after 7 or more shuffles.
    I've also found shuffling 50 cards into themselves, then shuffling the other 50 cards into themselves causes more dry/flooded hands.
    My preffered overall method is to shuffle 50 cards 7 times, shuffle the other 50 7 times, then take the time to shuffle all 100 at least 3-7 times.
    This makes the halves easy to shuffle, but also makes sure to cut into any dry/flood chunks with true random shuffling.

    • @brianfediuk
      @brianfediuk  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mama weaving is not necessary and could be considered cheating. You aren't entitled to an evenly distributed land base. If you want to do it before mash shuffling, that's fine but it really won't matter if you shuffle properly.

    • @Joshua-gt7pz
      @Joshua-gt7pz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brianfediuk I dare you to test it. Play two games, 7 shuffle between, then fan your deck and come back.

    • @Joshua-gt7pz
      @Joshua-gt7pz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brianfediuk I have taken a played deck, shuffled the gym, hand and field together, then shuffled 7. Numerous times. Every time I get many of the same cards together. Using the technique here, going to 10-13 shuffles, and my same cards are combod together, my draws are very similar.

    • @Joshua-gt7pz
      @Joshua-gt7pz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brianfediuk and that's why I specified to shuffle 7. 7 is the "mathematical" true random. So can I stack my cards AAB, then shuffle 7? Or is shuffle 7 not truly random?

    • @brianfediuk
      @brianfediuk  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've done what you tell me to do. 7 shuffles is fine IF you know how to shuffle well and interweave cards effectively. If you're chunking 5-6 cards together in your mash, you are failing to mash shuffle.
      As for stacking your cards beforehand, I wish you the best of luck explaining that to a judge and not getting DQ'd.

      For shuffling casually, sure. However you don't want to be able to see the cards, or else you could make decisions based on knowledge you shouldn't have. Some people are even really good at finding cards and manipulating them to the top of the deck.

      Agreed. Unsleeved cards should be riffle-shuffled. It will bend them, but it won't mess up the edges/corners too badly. Mash shuffling unsleeved cards will completely fray all of the edges after a pretty short period of time.
