I bought four packs of these lights. My home is very linear. Does it matter how I line them up? Like if one end is A and the other end is B, will I need to make sure the next strip starts with The A end? Or can I start it with the B end? I’m trying to figure out plugging all four into four different plugs.
Thanks for the comment, I installed each light starting with the power cord end. It starts from left to right starting with the power cord. I did the same with the second light strip.
Hi Can you turn off sections? for the same reason you used the black tape to black out the transition points on the roof. Also, can you remove the power button brick from the strip itself? as if you want to push the power wire through a small hole and leave the power button brick on the inside of the wall? Also, I have a similar house setup as you, I am buying two Pro's 32' and i was wondering if I can start in the doorway for both and one string goes left and the other goes right, or do I have to start far (left or right) and do one motion across so they look like one strip when you are using the different scenes.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, only when you want a non-effect you can turn off sections. If you use effect/DIY motions you cannot turn off sections. The wire does have a weatherproof connection that can be separated. You could fit the wire through an adequate hole. I was originally going to do what you are asking, and start in our entry way. My current setup has the power cord on the right side of both of the lightstrips. The lights run in sync that way. I'm not sure if they will be in sync if ran a different way. Yes, I have two light strips installed.
Just one question, if those lights already have a double sided tape that will stick on the wall, why do you need to installs those plastic clips? What is the point having them and have to drill holes? Can you just peel off the backing of the lights and just stick it on?
Thanks for the comment. Yes you can install the lights with just the 3m lights. The clips make the light strip more secure. I did add some gorilla glue onto the lights. You can also place the light strips onto an aluminum rail track.
Since the lights are outside, the more secure the better.
LED strips start to fall off after time and heat, it's best to have a mechanical connection.
How did you sync your lights? I have the phantasy pro outdoor. 6 total strands I need to sync up
Thanks for the comment, I synced the lights using the govee app. You can group your lights together in the app. I installed each light starting with the power cord end. It is from left to right starting with the power cord. I did the same with the second light strip.
Have you created any DIY designs? I am only able to get it to work on one strand of lights and now all three I have outside. Thoughts?
Yes, I have created some DIY designs. For my lights, I added them to a group through the app. They are synced together, to do the same effect.
@@cdm336 Nice! I can get them to sync all together, but cannot get my DIY to work with all three strands. It just works under the strand it was created on. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
@@erichrubes3800 I gotcha. Try to click on the group you created under the tap "smarts" in the app. Then I click on DIY. That is how I have the two lights strands work with the DIY effect. Also you can still create more DIYs in that setting (Smarts then DIY).
Nice video, your house is way more than 32ft isn't it? Did you daisy chain 2 of them?
Thanks for the comment. The house is around 65 ft. I purchased 2 light strips. No need to Daisy chain. The app allows you to sync the light strips together.
@@cdm336 nice thanks. I just bought 2. Will setup them up soon. Your video helped 👍
@@cdm336 do you have multiple outlets on your eaves or did you run extension cords?
Do you have a link of the weather proof box
Yes, thanks for watching!

Can they be used with alexa? (On and off, color , brightness , ect. )
These specific lights cannot be used with Alexa. I have them on smart plugs to turn them on/off with Alexa.
Govee released these lights, that are compatible with Alexa. They seem to be the same, just these are compatible with Alexa. www.amazon.com/dp/B09GJKX9VQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_V2A0CAAMAGEYCPEDEFQT
Do you have link for this lights.
Yep, link is in the bio.
Also, the ic lights in general are a lot brighter then the rgb. The rgb ic with protective coating are even brighter then them as well. Had them up on my ceiling, and couldn't have them at full brightness without hurting the eyes. lol.
Hi, i just got mine and noticed you can’t link them together and the actual adaptor isn’t waterproof.
Curious how you dealt with this.
Did you run extension cords? Did you put the power adaptor in a water
Proof enclosure?
Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment. That is awesome!
Yes the signal receiver is in a waterproof case. The power adapters are in the garage connected to extension cords. Good luck with the project!
@@cdm336 thanks. Can you please explain a little more on this. Is the length of the wire enough to run from garage to roof on the porch side of your house?
@@jayshesha9163 The length of the wire is 20 meters. It was not long enough for my house. I plugged them into extensions cords, that run from my garage.
Great job! can this be converted to solar?
Thanks for the comment. I'm curious what exactly do you mean by convert to solar?
@@cdm336 I will be purchasing a outdoor power station that can be charged by solar panels. It has an ac outlet and usb outlet
@@andre10181 That is dope! Yeah, that should work.
Anyone know if the adhesive is long lasting or should i get somehibg to support the strip for a long term use
I would go get 3m vhb tape to put on along with the sticky tape on the lights.
If I do it I'm going to use the LED light strip channel off Amazon
Even though these are waterproof
Its called a silicone sleeve? The led lights themselves are NOT waterproof the sleeve make them water proof. If condensation gets in between KAPUT! Govve do not make them LONGGGG enough for outside? Only 32 feet?
Yes, the lights could technically expand, and condensation sets in. The product is rated IP 65. I posted a one year review, the lights look the same as when they were installed. Yes, 32ft. I have two strips to cover the front of the house.
Great video. How did you link or connect your two separate lights trips. I need to cover approx 60 ft. On the front of my house so I purchased two Govee Phantasy Pro kits. Don’t know how to link them
@@frankweiland438 Thanks! Check out 14:07. Use the app to connect them.
@@cdm336 OK. Thanks
