I've spent the past 3 weeks binge watching your bee removals and other adventures. I have insomnia so something interesting to watch for many hours is a good thing. You're videos are intertaining and educational. I am one of the 6% of people who has anaphylaxic reaction to bee venom so I'll never bee a bee keeper but I hind them fascinating and learning how different hives are so diverse in personality is amazing and you are so correct that the March never gets old. Wow! Anyway thanks for helping keep this insomniac from going insane. Laura in Wake Forest North Carolina PS I speak French and have particularly like learning a bit more about the Cajuns (Cadians) from Shawee.

WOW JP, I don’t think I have ever seen an extraction that has caused you to work any harder than this one! But as usual, your care and technique has rescued yet another sizable hive. That march was certainly fun to watch. Great job, thanks!

JP! you must have brought some luck this week. Neighborhood facebook page posted about a swarm on a tree in town and I ran over and got them. small prob 2lb swarm 3 feet off the ground just on the bark. Must have got the queen in the first few scoops cuz they marched like the LSU Band ;) Happy Bee day!

Your videos have been a great comfort to me during the C19 era. I am largely bedbound with lupus and feel more isolated than ever, but seeing your incredible work amidst the Southern US where I've grown up my whole life, it's a great comfort, being able to still enjoy nature. Marine life tends to be my thing (Floridian - go figure), but these videos have helped me deal with my fear of bees, so thanks for that! Take care and may you always find those queens with ease. :D

I am always so glad to see a video from you. You take care of the individual bees far more than anyone else I have seen. It’s no wonder the bees stay quieter. Always a pleasure! We were stationed in Hawaii, 1960. A friend of mine needed to pick up something from his house, and we went into the back yard. I remembered he kept bees and hung back, of course. He stayed quiet and bees started landing on him. I was astounded. It was obvious the bees knew who he was. That changed everything! All my fear left. He brought some of the bees over, asked, and handed me some bees. They were gentle and quiet. Haven’t feared bees at all since. I will say I haven’t been around any very aggressive bees.

I thought for sure they'd start stinging you into oblivion when you began taking away chunks of the stump that encased the hive, not to mention the thuds and vibrations of the ax and saw. But you've been wrangling bees for so long you probably smell like one to them and they seemed to be a gentle hive as well. Some people just seem to have a way with bees and nobody does it like JPthebeeman!
