Saving 2 Beehives From Ants & Termites

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 13 ส.ค. 2020
  • This termite & ant infested garage had 2 honey bee colonies living in its walls. The bees really needed a new home & I was glad to give it to them.
    Watch as I open wall voids & remove termite infested soundboard to get to the bees.
    The bees were likely not really bothering anyone all that much as they were pretty gentle but the contractor repairing the garage couldn't do what he needed to do with the bees in there so that is why I was called in to relocate the colonies.
    If you enjoy my content please consider subscribing & don't forget to share my channel with friends & family, I'd very much appreciate it!

    You must have gotten your smoker material from a French Quarter supplier to make those bees talk like that.

      Bees always have talked to me, these were just insistent they be part of the video. It was either that or getting stung a few hundred times. They were the bossiest bees I’ve ever run across! 🤪

      JPthebeeman I always knew that you were a "Bee Whisper" and now that you have gotten them on tape talking to you have proof. All joking aside I like the "bee talk" in the video and for those who cannot find humor in it may there bee all swarm to tallest trees in their bee yard on a hot and sunny day. staysafe stayhealthy and may the da rona never find your way.

    That pink comb is really strange. The only thing I can think of is maybe man made humming bird food. I also really love the "bees" talking back to you .

    • @drecknathmagladery9118
      @drecknathmagladery9118 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      i actually agree with the theory of the hummingbird nectar
      my parents have a bunch of humming bird feeders spread out all over the yard
      and i seem to recall a bee hive that popped up when i was a lot younger that had to be removed had a similar pinkish hue
      and the bees did seem to gather around the humming bird feeders
      so maybe that leaks into the honey comb
      im not really sure
      probably tastes good though

    • @kellydrodgers8957
      @kellydrodgers8957 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Highly likely. Honey pot ants were fed with sugar water dyed red, their tasters turned red from the dye in the sugar water.
      Since Honey bees carry the Hummingbird nectar back to their hive to deposit in the cells, it's make sense that the dye in the nectar would stain the wax.

      Could be dry algae, If the wall has a leak it could deposit algae over the comb

    We bought our house in February of this year without realizing that our next door neighbor is a bee 🐝 keeper! We have always had respect for bees, as everyone should, but I did have several questions for our new neighbor. I have learned a lot such as the differences between the drone, worker and Queen.
    Our neighbor answered all of our questions as we have an 19 month old grandson. We do have fences separating the yards, but I didn’t know if they swarmed just to swarm. He assured us that that was not a normal thing. We have made it through the summer almost and all is well.
    I do suggest that you have young children allergy tested to see if they are allergic to bee stings. Adults as well if you live in the Country. We were told when we bought our house that it would take police/ambulance approximately 12-15 minutes to get to us.
    I have bad allergies and the local (Free) honey has been great! Soon he is going to show us how to get the honey off the comb!
    I came across one of your videos this morning, Bee’s in the Garbage Can, I have been watching your videos for the last two hours! Thank you! 💜🐝

    That was a fun video, I like the little bee voices. What I thought was odd was the sound the old hive made as you removed it. Sounded like dry old news papers, that sat to long out side and dried up. Crunchy like dry leaves. Love the End where the bees where making their way to a new home, march, march, march.

      The exterior was a Pepto Bismal pink but it was in bad shape & likely painted a million years ago so I don’t think there’s a correlation between the paint & the color of the comb, just my opinion.

      I really enjoy JBs videos, lots of information I find the new voices annoying. Maybe it's the pitch or speed, just jarring from listening to JB's soft slow voice talking about what he is doing. It's cool he's trying new things, but a little goes a long way.

    LOL, the bees are hilarious. Love it. They like Simon and Garfunkel, as do all insects.

    I will reveal something about my experience with Bees - other than my introduction via Uncle in Germany. I worked for about 3 years in an Apple Orchard here in Australia & every year we had to thin out the blooms, to keep down the apple crop. Bees and horticulturalists worked together. I was NEVER stung once while doing so, and I touched their soft furry little bodies all the time - the sweetest memory! Oh how I love them ! Bees love & understand work, appreciate/respect co-operation ...
    or they are just so single minded and driven...tunnel vision kind of thing...even though...I bet the experts could shine some light on that ...please share:))

    I thought I heard the queen piping about 3-5 minutes in, then right towards the end when she was caged in the box. Nice job, JP!
