Removing Bees From A Cellphone Tower On A Rainy Day

- This colony of bees was about 3 times larger than what I anticipated it would be, really nice open air colony!
Biggest rat snake I've ever seen seemed to be guarding the tower. I got up close & personal with him but he wasn't in a playful mood, at all!
He looked like he was about to shed & if you know anything about snakes, it's that they don't like to be messed with when they're about to shed. So of course I had to touch him, have to confess it was a bit of a challenge.
Once I touched him he immediately went into strike mode but I wasn't about to let him succeed in that capacity, no sir!

The minute I saw that snake, I would have been out. If there were any type of rodent ( I hate any times of rodents, PERIOD ), the bees would still be there. Well done.

I did a lot of handyman work for the elderly (I'm there now myself today) and I think back to all the times bees were buzzing around me as I worked and other than a few wasps stinging me I just ignored the bees and they ignored me.

I would jump at the opportunity to be a second pair of hands for you. You are amazing with bees and I would love to experience that in real time. You make a stressful situation for those gals calming.
We found a swarm on a tree in sept the size of a pint jar and we managed to get them through winter in or. They are just now at three frames. The fall robbing was the thing I fought the most as I tried to feed. The queen looks exactly like yours.
Bee related, in about November we went to a birthday party. The weather was pretty good but most of the flowers had faded. I had on a dress a pattern of yellow flowers. I kept having bees land on my dress and lick the "flowers." XD I let them lick the left over applesauce from my daughter's snack. I was wondering where all these friendly european honeybees came from and then I looked up and two yards over was a hive and a guy in a bee suit. Ha! It was a lovely experience.
