In this vlog we take a fist look at the new Alpina Mississippi for 2022. The new model arrives with the new aero dynamic front and a whole new rear end. The Mississippi provides a flagship 4 berth caravan and will be priced at around £35,500. Features include Alde heating, underfloor heating, sound system, microwave, gas oven, tower fridge freezer and the new awning light design. In this first look we get to find out a bit more about the model.

This is a fantastic caravan! Modern, yet comfortable feeling. Practical, but not stark. I really like the drawer/cupboard door latches. It is high time that British caravans and others move away from those old-fashioned push button latches. Much better to have something that automatically locks when closing to ensure any forgotten drawer/cupboard doors don't fly open when towing. This caravan's latches are both elegant and functional!

This is a lovely looking van - I think I did a review on the 2020 edition a while back. We’ like the lounge , upholstery, tall fridge and I really like the bathroom sink 👍🏻🤪. Thanks for showing us the 2922 model x

Fab review as always Karina 👍 A very tasty caravan, but with so many people working from home I do think Adria is missing a trick with the lack of proper table somewhere. The lounge has massive showroom appeal but I’d still rather a proper pull-out table atop a chest. 😁

I agree. We have a 2020 Colorado and the little shelf table is only really good enough for a cuppa. I'd much rather they did a longer pull out at that height for using the laptop.
It looks really nice, but I do like my front unit in the lounge and think I would miss it, but if you can live without that, this is a lovely van, thanks for showing us around👍Mark & Coral

Great review as always, & a great caravan. We renovated our bathroom & because we had limited space we fitted a slimline vanity. We also put a shaving cabinet over the vanity. It lasted about 30 minutes before the cabinet was moved to the side & replaced with a mirror. You just couldn't wash your face without spilling water all over the floor. So, from experience, I don't think the washbasin/cabinet would work. The front locker is massive maybe that affects the design of the dinette? I wish the manufacturers would incorporate a high-quality rear vision camera in their vans. I was looking at an $80,000 caravan today & guessing this would be $60,000+ $70,000 if it ever arrives in Aus, it represents value. Still, it's a lot of money.

Just checked and the 2022 Mississippi is £35,585 including delivery. Our 2021 Mississippi was £30,000 , so is the new version £5,600 better than ours ?
Absolutely not in my opinion, but still a gorgeous Van.

Won't there be a problem with the fridge being on the awning side of the caravan, not getting cool enough air on a hot day?
I would imagine this has been considered as most Adria caravans are sold in Europe where they experience much hotter weather than ours. Many as pitched as seasonals too with huge awnings. Thanks for watching and leaving a constructive comment 😊 Karina

This is a BEAUTIFUL well appointed caravan , the luxury of it is incredible .I like the tiny spotlights , and the sculptured storage units .Kitchen worktops are smooth and a great colour , love the dark wood cabinets that also match the bed base. I really like the sink and cooker combination . The styling with all the chrome edges on the drawers and the curvy units is wonderful .
I noticed to the side of the bed , there is a small gap like ducket for perhaps a cuppa or charging phones , but it is actually just a hole in the wardrobe side ? for me it should have been a small cubicle unit covered so that anything in the wardrobe doesnt drape over whatever you lay in there ?The toilet roll holder , strange area to fit it ? did the sink bowl move ?I agree with you re the mirror cabinet being a bit of a jut over sink.I dont get why they insist on the partition curtain . I like a door .

The Alpina Colorado has a door between bedroom and lounge. Same range - almost identical except twin beds instead of one bed.
Are they made to be aerodynamic at the front because i am not the biggest fan

There is only one downside at this model according to my husband. The single axle.... For such a heavy model we expected a double axle.
Many people in the UK expect a twin axle on such a big caravans. In Europe its quite normal to have it on a single axle. Having had a large Adria caravan the single axle would concern me at all. They tow extremely well and are very manoeuvrable when unhitched. Thank You for watching and leaving a good comment 😊 Karina

The Alpina Colorado (twin beds) model comes as a twin axle. We love ours.
They don't even sell these in Mississippi

Is there anything out there gives good disabled person access
The Knaus Sport and Fun does, I have got a review of one back in 2019. There is a company the does modifications called Coachbuilt UK. It depends on how wide you need the doorway and the requirements you have. My friend is a wheel chair user and has a modified caravan. Several motorhomes are now available with a 70cm wide doorway. Hi, nice looking van! Just a point of order, nothing spectacular, but on quite a lot of your vlogs you say;-‘ I’m just going to venture inside….’ Do you really mean this? As to ‘venture’ is to undertake some difficult or dangerous journey or event, perhaps you expect the Taliban to be hiding in a wardrobe? ;-)
