If you dont kill with a melee it sucks. How can this be meta?
Would you consider making an exotic-less build for those newer players that are just starting? Like no exotic armor, no exotic weapons. Just pure mods and subclass aspects.
@@xebolous right on bro...i feel you on that one and truth be told..one of my own go to builds is a no exotic build and the best part is because of the stats on the pieces i chose i can switch to any subclass and it still smacks...good call ..much respect for that.

This build is really fun when you can get the procks, but i find it really frustrating in group content when teammates nick the kill you need for your rotation and then your just stuck for a bit
Edit: Wow didnt notice this comment got a lot of activity, till just now. This now one of my favorite builds as it took me a bit of time to get the timings down. Its perfect for Duo dungeon runs with my buddy since the well makes up for some of the damage, and there are plenty of adds to keep this build going :)
I see I'm not the only one struggling with this.
I find myself changing back to my void loadout a couple of runs in because trying to enable the rotation if you mess it is rather frustrating
This is it's biggest downfall. It struggles in teammate heavy content but I will say at least in a fireteam of 3 if you keep a fast pace you will DOMINATE the activity. As you probably know if you've been using build this is more a comment for the people that might click on the above comment.
Monte Carlo helps a lot in such situations :)
Yea super frustrating sometimes in team play if there aren’t enough adds. I’ve noticed I have this problem a lot less in the newer content where there is way more enemy density

I want to add a small addition, if you want both infinite melee AND grenade charge; use Monte Carlo as your exotic weapon.
Yes, it's a niche pick and isn't great damage wise. But basically you won't need it for anything else than to recharge your melee into an infinite cycle of melee -> grenade

Just got a King's Fall clear running SB; It does great boss damage in the right circumstances, it just tends to be a bit... fiddly to get active, but once it does you can lock down huge spots of a map. The new aspect that cures from grenade kills just makes it even better.
Yeah the build can be super finicky. If a teammate steals a kill or you mess up the rotation, it can be difficult to get the engines going again especially in harder content due to the range of snap.

Thats why you should get an Iterative Loop with enhanced Pugilist. If my melee doesn’t get a kill, or my teammate steals my kill that messes up the gameplay loop. This bad boy gets me melee energy back CRAZY fast. If heat rises is active, get one kill from the air and that’s usually enough to get your melee back. Its nasty. I am grinding the weapon out rn to level it up since I crafted. I don’t even have enhanced pugilist yet but its still works wonders

Thanks for the dope build Mac. I put it together on my warlock and it's a ton of fun. Like someone else said, it can be a pain to proc stuff when you're doing group activities but either way it's still fun as hell. You may have converted me to a warlock main for awhile after being a hunter main since the start of D1. I haven't touched my hunter since I put this build on my warlock. Lol

Except nothing beats Starfire and certainly not Sunbracers.
Chugging infinite solar double clapping mini nukes without needing anything but doing a little dmg from your well or empowering rift can’t be beat by any class at the moment

@@187roel fun fact. Verities brown can theoretically do double the damage of starfire using a very similar tactic only requiring a solar weapon kill every 10 seconds. Only reason starfire is on top rn is ease of use. However in boss fights with ads it’s the worse out of the 3 grenade exotics.

On the note of where enemies aim at you, they also always lead their shots. Strafing just like in PvP works in PvE. Only in PvE, it's far more predictable. By doing circles or figure-8s in midair or on the ground, most shots won't actually hit you provided they aren't low velocity tracking projectiles

I started using this build when Solar 3.0 was introduced. It was hard to use in end-game content. Now with the new fragments and the 20% buff to solar grenades, it just may have a chance. That's if my teammates don't kill everything before I get a melee kill. I run with some true killers.

Another fun thing with the glide option, burst glide vs strafe glide with heat rises active actually reverses the speed of the 2. Burst glide become slower than strafe while heat rises is active(like how strafe is slower without it active)
I've been messing around with one of these builds recently, it's a little different, mainly using sunshot with sunbracers for the giggles, but I also discovered today that you generate a crazy amount of orbs of power, which makes using something with explosive light a really great choice, since youll pretty much always have max stacks

I have .."fashion issues" with Starfire, I hate how it looks, so I always ran Sunbracers like a hipster. It was always good, but I;m glad to see it get some more recognition now and become more meta. Love the gameplay loop way more than Starfires too. My only real issue with Sunbracers is that I love running Icarus Dash but it;s counter-synergy but oh well.
We're gonna need more superlatives. Every build is IMMORTAL and INVINCIBLE and INCREDIBLE. This isn't a criticism of you, I know you guys do what the algorithm demands. I'd just love to see someone throw down "THIS BUILD IS THE GODFUCKER." "THIS BUILD IS THE LITTLE-DEATH THAT BRINGS TOTAL OBLIVION." "THIS BUILD GOES INTO WAFFLE HOUSE AND COMPLAINS ABOUT THE FOOD."

Absolutely killer as usual, man. Been messing around with Sunbracers this week in preparation for the incoming Starfire nerf, and wasn't too impressed with the way I had set it up. Trying this now and its a whole different ball game. Rock on.
I know you briefly mentioned at the end of the video, but what is your preferred weapon set up with this build? Witherhoard/CALUS/Demo-rocket?

My buddy has been running this since solar 3.0 came out. Amazing to see it getting picked up by the community at large.
I have never seen anyone go in depth so much one what your using. Then go on to tell you what everything your using does and how it effects the build with every single minute detail. Then if for some reason that wasn’t enough you went out of the way to describe the order of how to use the build. You my friend are the greatest destiny builder of all time. I most definitely have subscribed and if I need any help I’ll definitely be coming back.
great build love the effort you put into these videos keep the good work up man btw ths build can be made easier to use by proccing heat rises then using melee and immedeatly class ability with ember of ashes on. this causes an ignition that kills any of the red bars and as this counts as melee it procs sunbracers

One fundamental flaw that breaks the entire build. You need a powered meleee kill. Doesn’t sound so bad untill you have two other bozos stealing your kills from under your nose, and the fact that most of the time one grenade is enough for a single group of ads and there’s more weapons for champs and bosses, who don’t always come with a killable companion to activate the exotic perk. With star fire protocol, it’s less spammy, but more stable since you don’t even need a kill or orb to start the regen
I just built a Starfire version of this last night looking at my warlock and putting some shit together. Yours is better and fits that harrier jet identity I was after

A well-crafted BXR-55 with this build would be absolutely insane
When im running Monte Carlo I run bxr as my secondary.
The Monte Carlo keeps your melee fresh nearly all of the time and goes great with this build.
Crafted BxR gets Incandescent and Pugilist
Sunbracers are very good but this build is for low lvl content clearing trash. You are not going to manage to prok restoration at legendary/ master content very often and flying around like some invisible god aint gonna work either. This build only works on hero content or very few scenario's on legend difficulty. Show me a build performaning like that in one whole master NF or dungeon, then ill be impressed.

There is no way I'm using Monte instead of the Prometheus lens. Just use momentum transfer on your arms and you get your melee back in no time.

Thank you for your eplanation of throwing a grenade then pheonix diving. I was always having trouble with getting things going. I thought we had to swallow grenade, snap in air then dive on enemies, most times i'd stuff it up or get punished.

Play warlock pretty much exclusively and had no idea about the enemies target your upper torso thing... That's actually huge.
With the mid season patch next week, I’ll for sure be running this with Traveler’s Chosen and the new seasonal fusion with a few different heavies.

Cons: Teammates might steal ur procs.
In some raid damage phases its hard to find a a good time to proc sunbracers leaving you without half of ur dps potential.

I'd really like to see some Master content gameplay with these bracer builds. Almost any build can handle ordinary content and demolishing easy content doesn't really show off the builds power but rather it's mechanics. This is a fantastic video nonetheless and I will be making changes to my current setup to match this one.
I started in lightfall, and I'm just now realizing how easy regular stuff is. Now I feel stuck because I seem to only ever get 2m damage during a boss when some people get 3.5-4
@@onbored9627 it really just depends on what build you’re using and what weapon/weapon rolls you have. For example, if I’m running Starfire with a demolitionist/clown cartridge Hothead with arc surge mods, I can get around 3 million damage to Nezerac (as long as someone has a Gjallarhorn). Thunder lord with the catalyst and arc surge mods also puts out an insane amount of damage on any boss.
So I would say the best thing to do would be to get a really good build to work around (for now, Starfire is the best for warlock) and then focus on getting good weapon rolls or catalysts for heavy weapons.
@@Hokie11 I don't have anarchy and the other damage over time options seem to always be taken. witherhoard and osteo. Is starfire still the best? I need to get spoils of conquest but I only have 40. Is there a way to farm them?
@@onbored9627 you can get 15 spoils each week by yourself by getting the first chest in Vow. Each time you open the chest you get 5 spoils, so do that on each character and you get 15 every week in under 15 minutes.
Other that that, the second time you run a raid encounter you will get spoils instead of a weapon drop. I think this only applies to the Vow, Kings Fall, VoG, and Root of Nightmares raids. The most efficient is farming Templar in VoG. But you can only farm them in the Templar encounter when VoG is the weekly raid rotation. I know it’s confusing (it is to me still) but I hope that it somewhat helps.
Edit: yeah Starfire is still the best for boss DPS but that’ll probably change once they nerf it. I’m not not sure about what I’ll use after that happens
Note, in high level content you snap won't kill a red bar, but a snap and a dive will, granting cure and if you kill a couple you can keep it going. So slight change to the loop for harder content, jump, snap then immediate dive into the group.
Does the dive kills proc Subracers?
@@artes9222 Not on its own, but if you snap first, then dive on a red-bar the dive will add to the damage of the original snap to help kill higher tier red-bars, where the snap wouldn't do it otherwise. This saves you from having to pre-damage the redbar which then some blueberry will kill robbing you of your sunbracers.

I love how sunbracers is starting to see the limelight. I’ve been using them since season of arrivals. Used it in the day 1 raid. It’s A monster in the first 2 encounters. Even brought a couple friends into the fold of burning everything. Ever see a minotaur boss covered in 15 solar grenades? I have. It’s glorious. I can’t wait to see full raid teams with sunbracers annihilating everything

For sure interested in this one. I've been rocking an old school pair of these that still have the resilience or mobility boost option available but all the other perks have been removed and I can't add any new mods to them.
You will want to get a new pair, as the combat mods for gloves are imperative to the success of this build.

Been using that exact built and variations of it for the last couple of weeks (since lf launch). It actually performs kinda bad in master nightfalls already. Don’t think this will get remotely close to starfires power when it comes to endgame. Still a very very good built when u are are maximum of 15 ll under or at best on level.

Running quad 100 and can confirm, this is the best build I’ve ever used for warlock by far. Was able to solo all dungeons and exotic missions with this build.

People will run to this after the Starfire nerf but Controverse hold is a much better build for grenade based as clear. If you throw multiple solar grenades at a boss in a DPS phase the damage won’t stack.
But the lava blobs from each grenade will do crazy dmg, much better if the boss has a roof over its head so you can stick multiple nades over the boss.

What’s insane is that this build has existed for so long and all of a sudden it’s getting traction in this season. I’ve preferred this build over starfire protocol almost 100% of the time
Starfire protocol is great too. You just have to pair it with witherhoard and demo hothead to get the most use out of it

I've been running this sense season of the Dawn. Sun Bracers may as well be a super.
I always get playmaker commendations in strikes and raids bc im covering the bosses in solar grenades especially in vow bc the final boss barrier/orange wall bounces u a thousand feet in the air if u keep hitting it with heat rises on so i can sot 100 feet in the air spamming grenades

You forgot the interaction between incinerator snap and pheonix dive for harder content. You snap/dive a redbar to proc an ignition, get a kill, add seconds to restoration, and proc sunbracers due to the damage being coded as melee. Only useful in harder content were your melee's won't 1shot redbars, but an ignition will
Been running this since beginning of light fall been slowly seeing every other warlock switch over too the light side.
I ran the seasonal event with someone using this build. I just stood back and watched the world burn

Conditional Finality + any solar energy and heavy of your choosing for the full solar experience. I'm personally gonna use Acasia's Dejection + either Hezen's Vengeance or Fixed Odds depending on the activity

A point blanck incinerator snap with the fragment that grants extra scorch its a insta ignite and the ignition counts as melee damage ☺️

See my only issue with sunbracers is how finicky it is to set up and having someone yoink a kill from you can just leave it dead in the water. I know starfire is going to be nerfed but I’ll probably just stick with it even if it’s shit after said nerf. It’s just easier to use.
