In this video, I reviewed recently made shirt and the addition it made to my existing handmade wardrobe.
I love classic garments; however, mixing timeless pieces with current fashion can add variety. Below is a listing of patterns used to create each garment.
Black Pants - Butterick 6966
Black Shorts - Butterick 6878
Black Shirt - McCalls 6436

White Shirt - The Classic Shirt

Hi Karon, The black McCalls shirt is definitely the most versatile and my favorite piece. I like the black vest with the white shirt and black leggings. This is a great collection of pieces to mix and match..

It is always such a pleasure to watch your videos. Your sewing skills and artistry are both outstanding. I, too, love sewing blouses and consistently come back to Simplicity 1538 but would like to replace its lap placket with a tower. Did you substitute one from another shirt pattern? I am also intrigued by your description of an alternative method of collar insertion. Perhaps I should try the Classic Shirt.

I agree. So refreshing to see some women today still wearing classic designs.😊 i have zero plain outfits in my wardrobe, love the more colourful fabrics, but it doesnt look classical though. 😮 have to have a rethink and add more plain fabrics lol

Hi Karon 😊. I see your collection has pieces of your own choice. I mistakingly thought a collection should include all types of garments, dress, skirt (which I know you dont wear), jacket, blouses,etc. Glad to see I can now just make my own collection omitting certain garments, ie leggjngs, short,s, trousers. Thank you for your attention and time putting this beautiful collection together. ❤ love again from Bangkok

Hi... sewing allows you to choose or make whatever garment works for your lifestyle and preference.
I made and included pieces I wear, and that's the goal. No sense making a garment you don't like or won't wear simply to suit the 'acceptable term'.

Absolutely gorgeous ! Especially love your new black shirt. Love your new b and w collection. I need to sew! Feeling better but still in recoup stage from total knee replacement. It’s a journey for sure . Still go to physical therapy too. Working on more flexion, aka bending the knee,,, it’s swollen plus I have lymphedema from a previous blood clot following major back surgery over three years ago. So I have days I can do more but slowly n surely I’m getting better! Happy sewing. Gorgeous weather here, northern Indiana, Nancy Wagner.

Love this collection! May I ask you were you got your shoes from?
My shoes are Franco Sarta - Giada slingback and Marc Fisher loafers.
I’ve bought ponte from FWD but not any linen. Is their linen scratchy? Is it machine washable too?
This back linen is the only linen purchased and has no issues with it yet. All the others were linen cotton blends that wash up well but a little rough.
Fabric mart fabric is having a linen sale $13.99 a yd. Shirt weight linen
