The good news is: Islam became the fastest growing religion in Japan.
I've heard that there's a whole Muslim village there. (Or a village with a large Muslim community)

I've quit anime alhamdullilah and haven't look back since. Now its been 2 years & soo much has improved, I felt that I've grown much more as a man, not just in the physical sense but from an adolescence to mature adulthood sort of way. The Sheikh is speaking 100% truth here, its time our brothers and sisters of the youth recognize this evil for what it is.
Instead of chapters of manga, I now been reading chapters of the Quran, reading now on 4th Juz, trying to understand the translation and now read books on the daily. This new breath of fresh air has put me at peace & ease. I hope many brothers and sisters leave this haram for the halal for the sake of Allah.

I think the main message is that not that just anime is bad but any form of media that tries to lead you astray by making you believe it is the norm and anything that may make you commit sins should be avoided. Ofcourse almost all if not all anime come into this category but the same goes for music, tv shows etc. Overall the influence these things have on kids tend to be greater at young ages therefore it is best to ease them out explaining to them the Islamic reasoning behind it so they can understand that it doesn’t apply to just anime rather than force them out just like he said in the talk.

And also mythologies featuring so called pantheons of gods..
It's such an intricately layered plot with interplay of themes, all made for children to enjoy...

I pray 5 times a day, fast in the time of ramadan, do zakat etc. anime did not change my view of islam.

But it’s still bad even if it would be possible in our world
Sun god Nika and stuff isn’t an real god but exists
And still gets worshipped similar to our prophet isa
There’s much violence yea…its just animated but still not very good
The sexualization of some characters is bad

As the sheikh has said, these cartoons are only a reflection of the people who create them and are a means for Shaytan's deception. I can name so many animes that have shirk in them and involve Shinto (the polytheistic religion of Japan), degrade Allah the Supreme to a great extent, and promote shamelessness and indecency.
I would recommend any person still watching anime to just drop it, it contains so much haram and brings no value at all.

Plus, Muslims need to be their own voice in asking for better from Anime industry & other Japanese lead industries if we continue to be big partner to Japan. We don't want to be like those addicts, We dont want to worship others, they need to have some type of appropiate goods & services where we dont have to compromise. Less living images more aesthetic designs that can adopted into our own Muslim background. it takes time but i am hopeful that Anime will have sub-niche for us to make ourselves home but compared to Hollywood & animation industry in the West, Japanese have better medium to speak to connecting Muslim audiences compared to the West.

There is also Sanji and other characters who are p#rverts(which sort of normalizes that kind of behaviour)

    • @fmiah8988
      @fmiah8988 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Lol One Piece does not spread good. There is so much degeneracy in there. Nami literally became a hentai character out the blue from being flat chested in the beginning to randomly growing a massive pair of knockers and the directors constantly flashing them in your face. Then there's characters like Ivankov which are literal transvestites/drag Queens. And more recently there's Yamato (Kaido's daughter) who is a trans character and identifies as a male. Whilst I as a grown man still watch anime, this video has got me thinking about introducing it to my young children.
I do get your points about Saudi but you can treat this video in isolation and appreciate the points made on the dangers of anime. Also, it is worth highlighting the suicide rate in Japan and linking it with Atheism, there may be a correlation there with unhappiness in their hearts due to the lack of aqeedah and tawhid.

Saudi and it's ?? politics aside beside it celebrating Halloween in Riyadh season
It is said in the quran, there is no sin worse than worshipping other than God
Also mentions that if you sin after شرك (worshiping other than God) or do good work, it will be meaningless
Oh and anyway, people in east asia tends to be polite to satisfy how society look to them and judge them, many social experiments were done asking some why are they what they are -like one of a british asking asians to take a picture for him, asians tends to perfect it while Europeans complains and ignore- many asians in the comments clarify (we do it for the sake of people view towards us🤣)
Also,we muslims, our goal and work is the after life before working for this Duniah, so it is only natural to see success in this World, fame and economic superiority in the hand of Kufar and Hypocrites

    My man literally said
    "Japan has no good character"
This is exactly the problem with wahhbi scholars,
1.Japan has high unaliving rates mostly due to toxic work culture, inability to get women to Marry, society in general and honour models that arw bad
2.Japan has good values, anybody that had been there will witness to this, infact most of their shops are left unguarded.
3.Japan has the highest rate of conversion to islam in secular countries.
    The question is
    "Is Anime haram to watch"
    The question isnt
    "Is going to japan haram"
Someone needs to have this scholar visit countries and this question is appropriate for Shaykh assim al hakim as his answers take every perspective.

1 is true but he mentioned it because they dont follow their religion with full faith. When a person has faith and is struggling in life, he or she will pray and usually become a better believer to recieve help from Allah swt. Allah is the only one who knows a persons faith. If a person doesnt have faith, he or she become dependent on obsession (smoking, drinking, movies or whatever) just to not think of or deal with their struggles.
2 true they have good values and so do other countries, each is different, but now anime dont focus to represent them as something to teach viewers, old anime used to. now the bad things are more than the good things.
3 true hopefully things change and we fans also do not get really attached to anime, it is dunya after all.
      also this is something unrelated:
4 theres this perception that japanese people are fully polite and accepting, but they actually judge and complain just like any other human. I really love their culture, i just wish this "politeness" culture doesnt stress them out

I'm a muslims, most of the animes was not made for kids and most of the animes doesn't contain sexual content and homosexuality like shonen anime for example and i don't see a problem for me to watch anime as long as it doesn't affect my faith and it doesn't distract me from praying and reading the quran and such so i don't know why he's talking about watching anime like it's a disease that should be treated

It isn't just anime, it's all forms modern entertainment. Even if there might be some shows that don't have anything that disagrees with the aqeda and are just neutral towards it, it's just since the stuff with the immortality is what sells it's the one you'll see most common, so we still can't tell people "oh it's fine as long as you watch something with no bad things in it". May Allah guide us all and I hope in the future we will have more Muslims create safer and more beneficial forms of entertainment for us so we can get rid of the western brainwashing from our communities.

For example, me watching Anime made me more motivated to follow my deen and be strong person by going to the gym and take care of the body that Allah swt gave me. Still doesn;t make it halal, but not everyone growing up watching anime will become atheist, I grew up watching Dragon Ball and all the other animes my generation grew up with, and I still watch them today and they made me the Muslim I am today Alhamdulillah. I hope the Japanese are not offended, the Sheikh is talking with good intentions and facts. We've seen the destructive effects of such values spread in Anime in their society before ours. Just a while ago I've read a light novel that turned into Anime, surely Japanese, where the Hero with "superpowers" is serious about turning his father "to ashes" and "killing" his mother for the sake of his sweetheart!!! And that was supposed to be cute!!!! It was my first Japanese novel and my first Japanese Anime and I was already snorting over the "superpower" parts but, that talkimg of burning and killing was shocking tbh! Probably the first LN and Anime I'd read and watch and the last! Pure nonsense.

What he said is kinda true. Children are easily influenced by randoms things so, try showing them anime made for kids like beyblade, doraemon, digimon and teach them well. Then after a certain age through good guidance nothing can influence them. They can then watch whatever they want because they then become grown ups who have strong imaan in Allah :)

I agree with most of what sir has said. However, I would like to add some things which might come off as geeky but, please do read.
Not all anime is bad. Some are good and actually help you in real life. However, these anime mostly cater to understanding minds, mostly mature audiences. For example, Vinland Saga. Such anime teach valuable life lessons.
I will not deny the fact that most anime these days are filled with fanservice and immorality. The stories are highly disgusting especially some genres being completely for degenrate audiences. But, there's always an exception. The anime I mentioned, Vinland Saga, mostly teaches you about war and peace. It teaches you pacifism which is also a major teaching of our Prophet (PBUH). There are many philosophical and intellectual concepts that will stimulate your thoughts and shape you into a better and more virtuous human being. Moreover, I have overcome my anime addiction, which is paradoxical. Typically, anime tends to engross viewers, fostering a desire for more and consuming precious time.
What I'm basically saying is that it's up to you which sort of entertainment you want to consume. Immorality, filth or, life lessons, inspirational.
    And Allah knows the best.

I don't know if watching anime is either halal or not, but it's the kind of fitnah. But how and why? Some kind of people are idolizing an anime character because the director tries to make graphics and storylines more beautiful than paradise (actually paradise or jannah is better and beautiful than their misconception) during production. Those kind of people are some TH-camrs. I saw every thumbnails of TH-cam videos, which shows that the TH-camrs are calling a male or female anime character "god". Astagfirullah! Why didn't they realize that Allah (SWT) is only their one god? Imagine, this may be the sign of qiyamah! May Allah give hidayah to those TH-camrs who are doing this shirk or kufr. Amin.
