I shall try to apply this. I have a nice sounding violin (made the person I bought it from play it for me before I bought it and recorded it) so clearly need to work on my bowing. Never had someone tell me what could be going wrong before. Many thanks.
@@violinlounge do it before I volunteer myself into the insane asylum I had to stop practicing. I don't think I'll be able to send you a video because the neighbors are calling the state police the FBI and the National Guard due to the fact they think I'm murdering kittens plus I really don't know how to send you the link to the TH-cam video I don't know anything about it
@@deadmanswife3625 haha, well, you can see it as practice and join for the next round in Spring. There’ll be much more time to prepare. You can simply e-mail me the video link if you have one. Or post the link in a comment.
@@violinlounge that's what I don't know how to do. I don't know how to make a link I don't have a computer only my phone. And I could not wear the wig and still play so I had to hang it up on my candelabra. I did send an email to you though with the only thing I could think of don't worry it's not the video because I know that will make your email crash. I listen to you teacher I read what you said about not sending the video. We always send a text message to each other and that makes a hyperlink right in by itself but it doesn't go that way with the email its just written out A URLs 🙄🙄🙄🙄😫🎻
Zlata, you are great, cannot say this more times. I am 53, violin beginner, my second year. Sure could be better if practising more, but you know how it goes when you just love it, yet no need for pressure to be the best in 2 days:-) Zlata, could you think of some help for us who have a) very small fingers and arms and b) feel we miss something about taking full control of the bow with the thumb and other fingers? I myself can never use the whole bow, that is ok. But in combination with very small hands and fingers I lose "side control", and I tend to "travel around" especially at the bow tip and lower strings. I feel like my bow is going to fall of my hands...I feel it is more of technic than of firm grip. I am missing smth, while I know the answer is not in being more - tight.
Indeed it shouldn't be a firm grip, perhaps it's possible to have the fingers more over the bow and the middle finger and ring finger a bit more active.
What was the result of doing this violin bowing exercise for you?
Sometimes I used tol little pressure....being afraid to scratch or a not clean sound.. this is great!
👍🏻
This movement is traumatizing and more excruciating than vibrato but I WILL prevail. Thank you for the tip!

Wonderful!
Thank you very much ❤
I tried and it seems impossible to move my fingers side to side like this!! this is definitely a movement that I need to practice!
I find it good to practice finger bowing with very short bow strokes (Collee).
Collé is also very effective, but that's off the string at the bow changes.
Thank you Zlata!
Happy to help!

Helpful 😁 Thanks
Glad it is!
Is this Colle bow stroke?
No, because in collé you lift the bow at the bow changes. It's a great preparation for collé though.
@@violinlounge Thank you for clarifiying.
