I don't want remakes, just ports all the AC games, all the AC games, Ichigeki Hoi Hoi, God Hand, Bunjigai, and any other hack n slash and ARPGS. Im afraid my ps2 may die and hunting down PS2 games like Blood Will Tell is very costly.

Godhand is something else man. The gameplay is a+ and the cutscenes keep you entertained you never know what to expect
The whole Legacy of Kain series is in dire need of a remake. The voice acting and world building in the first and Soul Reaver were top notch.

The Getaway, Capcom VS SNK, Manhunt, State Of Emergency, Street Fighter EX3, A lot of games need to be remade not completely changed though.

@@thatvideogamesshow Agreed! Alicia got some hate back in the day I think? Sure she’s no Lenneth or Freya but I liked her as the MC. Also I loved the 4th dimension matrix-style twist in SO3.

Maybe it'll be in the next video, but The Suffering definitely deserves a remake. Great game that a lot of people haven't probably played. :)
I remember playing a bit of Ties That Bind when I was a kid and really liked it, it reminded me of Evil Dead Regeneration. But it's definitely a game that doesn't come to mind very often, would love a remake.
MK Shaolin Monks is very underrated. playing with 2 players is so fun in this game, must play through for any MK fan!

I have always been rather surprised we never got another. I have never heard any MK Fan that did not enjoy it. One of the only Spin-offs that was actually good.
Minor correction. In Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Claire did not "travel to a island in Europe". She traveled to what was then thought to be the Umbrella HQ in Europe. There, she was captured, drugged, then taken to Rockfort Island while unconscious. Rockfort Island is in the South Pacific, not Europe.
I bought Rogue Galaxy completely blind out of a bargain bin. Talk about a sleeper hit, that game was amazing! I even loved all the bonus/sidequesty stuff like the bug battles lol.
Rogue Galaxy has been ported to the PS4 and PS5.

I remember when that released onimusha on the switch a few years back expecting the second and third ones to come along eventually but still nothing. All I can hope for now is a remake. That or dino crisis. Or hell id take remasters for most of this list!
Unfortunately Capcom didn't consider it to be a success so they're not bringing other titles over. Such a shame because I want to play as Jean Reno.

Totally agree with Ico and Mortal Kombat Shaolin monks. You know I think sly Cooper needs a remaster too.
For me: The Punisher, Urban Chaos Riot Response, The Suffering, Psi Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy, Cold Fear, Tenchu Wrath of Heaven, Samurai Western, and The Way of the Samurai.
I'm sure I could list more lol. Darkwatch is a good pick too.

Also Freedom Fighters would be a great one to add. Glad you experienced the Punisher and Psi Ops with the lasting impressions I got as a kid too. Control gave me the same feeling Psi Ops did when I was 7/8, closest I reckon i'll ever get to a game with telekinesis done so damn well
and Darkwatch, you are the only person I know that knows of that game. The game demo I played wayy to much, never finished it as I only got the chance to rent it out like twice overnight as a kid. Was too poor, and used to just steal the PS2 demo discs from Kmart out of the magazines and hide it in my pants.

remake or a modern sequel, I'd love to see Drakan become a thing again. I loved those games so much (first on the PC, sequel on the PS2). I've always felt Dual Hearts was a little underappreciated as well

@@therealbenlurie8810 it was a favorite of mine; I love dream world games. Huge fan of Alundra on the ps1, and Dual Hearts scratched a lot of the same itches!

@@therealbenlurie8810 it's been a little while, I remember some of those timed puzzles were a bear, but the combat felt pretty good. I don't know if I ever got all the falcon statues.

I still remember Chaos Legion playing on a Game demo boot on our local game store it was amazing during those years. Good memories.
The Champions of Norrath duology (with magic getting an extreme overhaul to be viable).

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks has everything from deep combat, platforming, exploration, secrets and Co-op! It kinda amazes me how this amazing game still has not recieved a remake already. few games I like to see remakes: Eve of Extinction, Blood Will Tell and Transformers Armada

Yeah, imagine Shaolin Monks with modern graphics and more fluid gameplay (and maybe more characters for story mode)
Yooo Bully and God Hand remakes would be so sick! Never really got into God Hand (mainly because of all the modern action games I played prior to it), but imagine it with more modernised combat, goddamn.

I still got Chaos Legion and Haunting Ground in my collection, would love to have a remake of both of them, now that you mentioned them guess is time to use my PS2 and my CRT Sony Trinitron 😊

Stuntman, War Of The Monsters and Auto Modellista would be my top 3 picks.
Auto Modellista was originally in this video but cut it for part 2. Love that game so much, especially the cel shaded approach to the visuals!
they need to just re-do the ps2 era, no remakes no. i mean just re manufacture ps2s and re manfuacture every ps2 game and just do the era again. it was the best era in gaming imo.

Resident Evil Code Veronica X is DEFINITELY a game I want to see remade!! One of the best installments in the entire series! Also, I’ve been hoping for an Onimusha remake in the vein of the RE remakes lately. Also, extra props for MK Shaolin Monks getting recognition. Finally caught up on this video, and nodded my head in agreement 👍. Fantastic video as always man!

Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. Such an excellent list of songs, and actually the most time I spent with the Guitar Hero series, or it's sequels, spin-offs, and knockoffs.
Absolutely phenomenal list. I own, have beaten, and love every one of these. Except Bully, never played it but I should be able to get it on the PSN. Keep up the great work!

Great list of games that i agree 100% deserve a remake. I owned many of these games on the PS2 which does have some of the best & underrated games ever made making it more apparent for them to hopefully get a remake. Chaos Legion i had but never fully completed but played a lot of RE code veronica, Bully & Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, great fun. I still have my copy of Haunting Ground, that is easily one of the most underrated horror games ever & i agree would love to see a remake of it for sure.
If they are gonna remake PS2 stuff, these are some really solid choices. The Chaos Legion demo disc rocked my gaming world.

Best remake is what they do with Shadow of Colossus tho...just an upgrade of graphic!! I want they do that for ICO too...

I replayed Bully and it's unlike any other game out there. It's hilariously clever beyond comparison. And Darkwatch is just straight up fun that never dulls in pacing during its short, but undeniably fun playtime.

Resident Evil Code Veronica is a Dreamcast Game, ported to the PS2. But Code Veronica X was a PS2 Release. And yeah, we need a Remake of this Game.
Technically Code Veronica X is a port of the Dreamcast Japanese only Code Veronica Complete.
Jak and Daxter Trilogy remake from the ground up is what I would like to see.
That trilogy still holds up pretty well except for maybe the textures.

Why DMC3? The switch port is good.
Ecco the Dolphin is a Dreamcast port and the sequel was cancelled when Sega killed off the Dreamcast rather then move development to the PS2.
I remember when Primal was supposed to be the next big franchise. Never played it unfortunately.

Shadow Hearts was one of the games with a cool darker story and had an interactive JRPG combat system. Legend of Legaia 2 is another one that had an interesting combat system that was more than choose fight, magic, defend, or run. Either one of those would be decent remade games. They were fun and innovative.

I loved Code Veronica but got to the final boss with the wrong weapon so I couldn't beat it. Never tried again after that but this review makes me think I should.
I would add few more, The Warriors would be amazing if it got a remake since 70's Coney Island aesthetic to this day are damn unique no series ever really come close.
Kuon also one of few PS2 horror games that outright felt like a curse, imagine that in 4k... Fatal Frame & Siren also superb choice, but then again, the horror game that deserves remake treatment the most is Rules of Rose. That one is criminally underrated, and the rarity my God! But at least we got SH2 remake now, let's hope for the best.
And then there's some games that just better to have new titles than remake such as RE: Outbreak #3 and Zone of Enders 3rd. These two I'd kill to have!

You cannot talk about FPS games on PS2 without mentioning _James Bond 007: Nightfire_.
It has so many unique elements to it that I have never seen before, and it is absolutely my favourite Bond story, even vs. the movies.
The split-screen multiplayer plus bots literally made up so much of my childhood. It was the go-to game for my friends and I.
It absolutely 100% still holds up today, especially if you emulate the GameCube version via Dolphin, but it so needs a remake. The controls leave a lot to be desired especially with how slow the sensitivity is.
But it's still so worth it.
Definitely Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms. Would also love to see a remake of Drakan: The Ancient Gates
I would also add Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance I & II.

I still fondly recall telling a friend that Bully 2 would release eventually. That was back in 2010

Personally for me, Soul Caliber II was the best of the series. It wasn't bogged down with bad characters or bad story, it was just about perfect. I would like it remade.
I remember Rogue Galaxy being quite hard, at first at least.
Finding myself having to heal SO often and having my party members die all the time during the tutorial area.
It was a nice change from the usual boring, sleep inducing tutorials.
Maxing out weapon mastery was a total chore tho.
It is a good game but too long. Finished it in 60 hours. Games like Ys 8, Trials of Mana remake, and Tales of Berseria have ideal length for action jrpg imo.

Ico with modern controls and hitboxes would be amazing. Godhand just needs more releases, that game is amazing. PS2 is such a deep library, I love playing all these games that I missed while playing JRPGs back in that era. LOVE Onimusha, sad that it's pretty much overshadowed by DMC at this point. Both are great. Rogue Galaxy is just a real gem.

It was a really good game, except for the terrible design leading up to the final boss. Here's the process:
1) Save point
2) 40 minutes of unskippable cut scenes and minibosses.
3) Boss kills you in 10 seconds.
I only tried the boss twice. I'm sure there was some pattern to his attacks that I needed to learn, but having to spend forty minutes trying to get to him for each attempt drained away all my enthusiasm.
Still, great game up to that point.
I'm 100% against remakes because more often than not they change the original story and atmosphere during development
I can agree to a certain extent as remakes are a hit or miss, generally. Shadow of the Colossus has a remake that should've emphasized the memorable beauty somehow made on PS2 technology, but instead makes changes that don't feel the same as the original fans fell in love with in the first place.
I remember Chaos Legion and I can safely say that game does NOT need any remake or remaster. It can stay forgotten. I love Devil May Cry and Dynasty Warriors and thought it would be a mixture of both but it had some of the most tedious hack and slash gameplay of all time. Too bad because it's soundtrack was god tier.
Glad to see some love for Haunting Ground, but surprised games like Primal or Ghosthunter weren't included.
Downhill Domination, Death By Degrees, SSX3, and Jet X2O would also be a blast remade.

With all due reapect, I am sick and tired of remakes. Rather, I’d like to see all of these franchises get new sequels. A remake, in my eyes, is the same as staying in the past, while a new game would be moving forward.
If you put the year of release of the game next to the game's title on the top right corner it would be great.
I got chaos legion for Christmas the year it came out and I loved it. It was the hardest hack n slash on the ps2 I remember playing

Such a great game!
Was hoping to see lifeline on here. Mostly due to its unique gameplay mechanic of using a headset to control a character. With modern tech, I feel could easily fix the games faulty voice recognition. A developer could even give the story multiple endings depending on how one manages their relationship with the protagonist.
Rogue Galaxy is a weird one. The fighting kinda devolves into you 1-2 shotting every enemy in a normal encounter with an AoE skill. Then when you reach a boss, it either becomes an item spamfest, or you have to carefully solo them, due to how useless the AI is. There is a great RPG buried beneath the flawed combat, but it would take a lot of polish to make it shine.

Crazy how nobody ever mentions Blood Omen, Soul Reaver or the Legacy of Kain series as a whole. They are absolutely amazing.

After playing RE4R id absolutely love a Code Veronica Remake in the RE engine, no tank controls though.👍🏿👍🏿

Project eden great coop game , driver parallel lines, the suffering 1 and 2 ,second sight , psi ops, hulk ultimate destruction.
Something about ps2 worlds that feel so much more adventurous to me. (Could be nostalgia)

I do partly agree that RE: Code Veronica is a black sheep of the family. I often think that RE Zero is more black sheepish than that. Not sure if I explained that right. Anyways, great list and always looking forward to you videos.
With Final Fantasy games, the Devil May Cry series, Katamari Damacy, Okami, and the Jak and Daxter trilogy already remade/remastered, you really gotta think about this one for a moment. Oh! I know one! Dirge of Cerberus. It's a nice game, but could have used more freedom of movement, like in the Devil May Cry series. There were so many areas with invisible barriers, it was frustrating while the game had almost achieved greatness.
I've forgotten that Capcom used to make awesome games. I would love for God Hand to have a remake or just a remaster. Onimusha dawn of dreams as well.
I forgot that Capcom made games other than Resident Evil.
I feel like if they remade Resident Evil Outbreak, it would do a lot better. It first came out when internet gaming was new to consoles, and while the core was decent, some of the trips and hurdles of online play could very much be smoothed out.
Maybe keep the camera perspective, smooth out controls, and fix up the communication and online play, then boom! Co-op story focused RE goodnes
Chaos Legion, God Hand and Onimusha would be my instabuy if they remake them.
I recently started playing Summoner for the first time and I think it and its sequel would be great for remakes/remasters. There are just so many PS2 games that deserve to be brought to this generation lmao
- Castlevania: Lament of Innocence / Curse of Darkness
- Jak & Dakter
- Spyro / Crash
- Sly Cooper
- God of War 1/2 (perhaps cliché, but since the ps5 can play god of war 3 but not the first two series games) ....
Ico is a great choice. But I think you should have mentioned the Matrix games. At least Path of Neo.
Although I'd prefer remaster, as I don't trust people these days to remake it properly, Shadow Hearts 1 and 2 would be my pick. Nothing special: just updated appearance and maybe a couple quality of life improvements, and we'd be set! No touching the story.
