Tbf saturn port sucking was because of carmack being a stuck up, and the 3do one was made by one person in 10 weeks bc they were forced to release it for christmas
To be honest, the worst version of doom is up to other’s preference, as all Doom ports [except the ports nowadays] have their flaws, yet have positives. For example, the 3DO version had the best music, yet had bad controls, frame rate, and graphics. The Snes port had low performance, but the controller has enough buttons to use, while the 32X version doesn’t. Even tho, most ports have an excuse for not being good, like the Saturn and 3DO version. But the ones that have no positives or an excuse are the worst versions of the game. And personally, I will have to agree with the 32X version being the worst, as you basically have low performance, and not enough buttons [unless you own a 6 button controller but if you don’t, have a great time 🙂] You don’t really have to agree with me either, as it’s up to your preference, but it’s just my own opinion, is all.
3DO Doom is unplayable. Yeah, the SNES and Saturn have low frame rates as well but 3DO also gives you super laggy controls, it's like your character is swimming through molasses, the input lag is so bad.
@@avideogamemaster The SNES version is 100000% valid just for its sheer audacity and limit-pushing factor. It was developed by A SINGLE MAN on his free time and shown to the boys at iD, who apparently responded to it with an enthusiastic "HELL YEAH!" and passed it along to their console publishers at Midway for official release. That man would later develop the Bleem! PS1 emulator for PC and Dreamcast AROUND THE SAME TIME THE PS1 WAS BEING SOLD IN STORES, so yeah, I can see why John Carmack took a liking to him and his stuff. And it has levels more faithful to the PC version than the Jaguar version that iD themselves developed! Also, you have to admit that bright red cart is just plain SEXY. Mmmmm.
Agreed, he just thinks that the 32X port is the worst simply because it has content missing, which is ridiculous, because while the content missing is a big minus point, the game still plays pretty smooth, unlike the 3DO and Saturn ports

In my opinion as a former journalist who was working at Game Informer when Xbox released, you should have gone with Kabuki Warriors. Our editor-in-chief beat the game with his ass. He slapped the hamburger controller on his butt until he killed the last boss.
True Sad Story: When I was 13 I got an original Xbox for my birthday, 2 weeks after it came out. Toys R Us, at the time, only sold the system in a bundle. $500, extra controller, choice of 3 games. I couldn't convince my parents to let me get Halo among them, so I wound-up getting Tony Hawk 2X (wooo), Amped Snowboarding (booo), and fuckin" Shrek (massive booooo). lol
Tony Hawk 2X was the best version of that game. Being able to unlock all the levels of the first game and manual through them was the best. Good pick up on your part.
Oh god, I played that Gundam game - one part you could have mentioned is that not only could you just walk onto an enemy base and win, _so can they._ One early Zeon mission took me 10+ attempts because the Gundam would just walk past me as I shot at it, and by the time I turned my slow-ass Zaku around it had won without firing a shot.
