I recently tapped in an ideal parent figure. Suddenly I could see the whole family, with me as a four year old, taking a slow Sunday walk by a gentle river, the autumn sun shining through the mist. Maybe I fell and hurt a knee, but I was being taken care of with a band aid and lots of hugs and kisses, and then sent back on my adventures when my tears had dried. I have never felt someone being so proud of me, never felt so intensely loved and cherished. It's amazing. When I have difficulty falling asleep, ruminating about my day, that parent figure sits by my bed, gently stroking my head, telling me in a reassuring voice "for today, you don't need to save the world anymore." I imagine them being there for me during my teenage years, when my heart got broken for the first time. The talks during our legendary Saturday brunches would help me make sense of it all. And while it's all imaginary, it feels natural and like a real memory. I can feel whole.

Hi! Your video about the 3 stages of trauma healing was really helpful. Do you think you could make a video going into detail about stage 1? you mentioned how it's often neglected and sometimes it can take months or even years to complete it. could you make a video talking more about phase 1?

How often do you get clients getting insight from their protective figures?

Pretty often. However sometimes clients struggle with the protective figure if they never had one in real life :/
