    One nice feature for this app is to someway be able to sync your user defined objects list to multiple devices. Now you would have to create the list on every device that you use

    I use the Android Syncscan with my EQ6r pro via wifi adapter. I don't have a view of polaris so per the help menu I first do a two star alignment, then do a syncscan polar alignment off of a neighboring star. I then slew back to home and then switch over to astrophotography tool and plate solve. This works very well for me. I tried loading eqmod/astrophotography tool off of the alignment star but I could not find a way to sync the alignment data from syncscan to eqmod. I have to go back to home first and then platesolve in APT.

    I use it on my 10 inch flextube dobsonian, with the small wifi remote. And when it downloads the Alt/AZ coordinates (and elevation over sea-level?) from my smartphone, it works like a dream, but when the connection (or I) fails, it moves around in any direction. I was not sure if I should use it with the Celestron SkySync GPS accessory or on its own ? I got the SkySync also, but have not figured out how to use it. With the hand controller or the Star-Sense controller ????

    Why wont the moon and the sun be mentioned in the app when they are both above the horizon? I have got my other problem sorted now all I have to do is get SynScan and Sky Safari to talk to the mount. Cheers Robert Aust'

    The location will be where your server is located if you do not use a smart phone. So, connect by wifi through your smart phone first - all location and time will load correctly.then, open the app on your computer and again connect. Now you can run APT or NINA, etc through ASCOM.

    How do you get it to connect to home network over wifi? It works when you are using it as a hot spot but the moment you change the settings to use a router it just doesn't connect and remains active as a hot spot mode.

    How do I know if the tracking is working or is there somehting I need to enable to allow it to actually track? I am a new owner of the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi and was using it last night for the very first time. If I set my exposure time to anything above 10 seconds (using an ZWO ASI224), the image was trailing. I am not sure if once you go to an object the tracking automatically should start or if I have to do something to make sure it will stay centered while gathering infromation from the sky. As I was looking at the object in the preview mode (or live mode) the object would travel across the screen over time rather than stay in the center. Basically it seemed like the go to function worked amazingly well, outside of slightly off alignement fixes once the object was in view which was because I am brand new to it all, but the tracking was not there...? Is there a setting or something I need to turn on in order for it to actually track the object I am looking at? Any information would be appriciated. Thank you.
    Edit: Incase it matters, I was using the app on an IPhone last night.

    What happened to the diagnostics feature? It isn't there anymore...
    I could really do with it because I'm constantly having conversation timeout issues in Station Mode, with NINA and PHD2, even though I have a very good connection.
    It's like a request going to the mount gets lost, or else the mount doesn't respond every so often.

    Living in the Great Lakes area of Ontario , Canada, Polaris would seem to be an obvious target for 1 star alignment, yet it's not on the list. Indeed Polaris for anyone in the Northern hemisphere would seem obvious. I'm not understanding the choices for SynScan star listings.

    • @kfowler8
      @kfowler8 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Polaris is not on the list because it's assumed you've polar aligned to it to begin with. It needs something else.

    Question: After you run Polar Alignment, do you need to run the regular alignment process again. Like for 2-3 stars? If so do you need to hit Reset Alignment first? Thanks

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, once polar aligned you can align the mount to the stars. Polar alignment aligns the polar axis where the star alignment orients the mount to the position on Earth.

    I have a problem with my new Star Adventurer GTi. It does not appear to be emitting a WIFI signal my mobile phone or tablet cant identify the mount unless I put the WIFI adapter in. My phone and tablet will connect with the adapter but the mount won't move, I get a vibrating sound when I press the arrows. And when I select a deep sky object and press go to the numbers alter as though the mount is going there but it is not moving. It works okay with the computer but not my phone or tablet. My phone and tablet have GPS and all other sensors. I have been through this video twice now and the manual and cant see what the problem is.

    Hi there, I just got my first telescope a skywatcher skymax 102 on a AZ-Go2 wifi mount. I am experimenting with the Synscan software but I am really worried I wreck my telescope setting the software to find something thats on the other side of the planet. Is that possible?

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From Tech Support: You will not mess up the mount playing with the app. The app should only let you go to visible targets. As long as there is no pier strike (which is hard with this scope), the mount should run fine, with fresh batteries.

    I have just received my GTi and I am beginning to unpick the synscan app, still waiting on clear skies but that's the norm. I would love to see an option for shooting mosaics in the app. I'm sure there are ways of doing it with computer control but I haven't a clue how to even try that.

    I bought a Sky Watcher AZ GTi mount and tripod. The mount had a right ascension clutch issue, so I sent it for repair.
    I wanted a backup go to mount, so I bought a Celestron 90 SLT. Big mistake. Alignment required manually training on three stars. I have bad sky and can't see three stars with my cataracts. So, I couldn't align it. Sad. I returned the Celestron and kept looking for another go to.
    Then, I stumbled across the Sky Watcher Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTI 150P Collapsible Tabletop GoTo Dobsonian Telescope. Wow! A 150mm Newtonian reflector at 8 pounds? Never seen one of those, before. I had to fashion a new focuser and a shroud, but after that I had a optical tube and mount which weighed less than 20 pounds. Perfect for an elder, feeble fellow wanting to do electronic assisted astronomy!
    The SynScan Pro application is absolutely outstanding as are Sky Watcher products! 😊

      Mine does the same. I hate this mount, telescope and app. Sadly the worst present I've ever been brought.
      Mine is now trying to break itself, does yours do this? As in, I'll align with mars, tell it to look at the moon and instead of going to the moon it goes completely the opposite direction, tries to turn the telescope all the way over itself so that it clicks and grinds inside the mount. Apparently "they do this some times". I'm so angry about this, the shop won't take it back as they only accept 30 day returns and talking a partner into spending their entire budget is perfectly acceptable. Probably the shortest hobby I've ever had. Anyone want to buy a telescope?

    In basic equatorial mode (polar aligned) but not doing star alignment, it seems one needs to go to settings to deselect 0.5X Sidereal and select 1x Sidereal as well as tell tracker to track. Question. When using star alignment and goto, does the app know to set the correct tracking speeds?

    What shutter release cord do you need to allow use of the intervalometer from the synscan app? I have the eqm-35i. Thanks.

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Stuart, the EMQ-35 doesn't actually have a SNAP port so you can't plug your camera directly to the mount. Depending on your camera, you'll need a regular intervalometer or wifi camera control from your phone.

    I am confused. I have a new Eq6 pro mount. First of all, a cell phone that needs a WiFi network isn't of any use to me at a dark sky site. I came here cause I want to know how to operate this mount and I did get a pamphlet with SynScan on the cover and an image of the hand controller. i would consider running this from a laptop in the field but the google store reviews of users really trashed it in terms of ratings.

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Joe, the SynScan app does not need any cell phone service to operate. The WiFi adapter included with the mount emits its own WiFi signal that the phone will connect to. Go to your WiFi settings, and you will be able to connect to the mount's signal even in the middle of nowhere.

    At the very end of this otherwise inteligible presentation it goes off the rails. Kevin references "how to" pair SynScan with SkySafari Pro. What I heard next was gibberish. The adage is if you can't dazzle them with brillance, then baffle them with bullshit. duh?
