It’s so nice to watch your videos about the villa, it’s like a return to a past life... two years ago I was an architect, director of a company - great prospects and plans for the future, always opposed violence, a pacifist... now I’m in uniform, military , the main tasks are to live a little longer in order to drive away the occupiers...my children no longer cry from the bombings, my eldest son, 13 years old, flatly refused to hide during the last shelling and said that he would rather die than go to school without sleep...dozens of dead friends and 3 cousins...2 years pain, survival and stress... Your videos are a reminder of that time, as if from a past life - carefree, promising with a happy future... Thank you for the cool video.

the emotional toll on building your own home is quite an endeavour. my process, much smaller place and much less planning is 1 year (excluding designing process: which is 6 months). u are very positive about your proccess, so, kudos to you. me, in the other hands: has bunch of hair pulling moments. plans changed, design changes, finishing decisions changes. but nothing quite as rewarding as building things from scratch. almost like raising a kid 😁. i wonder if there's anybody out there who get everything smoothly, drama free.

Just wondering if you chose to do your land freehold or lease? I was planning to do freehold but a couple of people have suggested to lease instead but I think I’d feel better owning it. Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your process 😊
Foreigners cannot buy freehold....there were some schemes in the past but those carry so much risk, it is not work it (IMHO). Get yourself a very reputable notary and they can guide you in securing a safe leasehold property.
You can never own land as a foreigner...just rent until dead. Cannot be inherited either
@@dennissein2119 You can open an Indonesian company and buy the land freehold as a foreigner. And if I buy with an Indonesian company, it is protected by international courts so any disputes about the land can be resolved either inside or outside of Indonesia.

You have an interior designer and an interior decorator.
An interior designer is more highly trained while a decorator is a glorified scatter cushion thrower who chooses nice towels and bedding.
Your interior designer should be working closely with your architect.
An architect still relies on a structural engineer.
When you really know what you want you are better off working in conjunction with a good architect rather than having everything dictated to you, after all you are the one living in the space.
