Genesis - a fantastic band, my all time favourite in fact! Great music from both their eras - the Peter Gabriel era of the early 70’s and the more pop sounding, Phil Collins era. I love both eras.
Genesis. Wow. What an amazing band!!! I’ve known these guys from the early 90’s. Tony Banks was the founder. With him, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford , just made the band so wonderful.
Clayton Pascoe - Mike Rutherford, Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks were the founders in 1968... Phil Collins just came later in 1971 as a drummer. Then he's become their singer and co-composer so far in 1976. This is really here their final original album of 1991, even if they actually made another last one, very different, with an unlikely singer, in the late 90's.
I really love this song and the lyrics to it. If you just sit and listen to the words it's so awesome how everything in this situation is in this world. It's just the way of the world and there's right and there's wrong. It's like having god helping him write these songs because there right on point.
It's a shame there is no live recording of this song. For me and maybe others, Way of the world is the best song Genesis has ever released. Phenomenal 👍🏻
This is when you know you are listening to good music and it has a meaning to just about everyone of his songs. We have seen a blue sky and the red sky plus it's the way of the world. I'm grateful to be in my 50s and still moving forward.
I have so many of Phil Collins and Genesis songs and love every one of them. The only thing that I can't figure out is witch song is my favorite because like I said I truly love them all. I'm a huge fan and went to several concerts and had a great time at every one of them. I'm also glad that they have a hall of fame plus a Star at Hollywood.
Always liked this song. Never bought a Genesis album in my life, but did by 'I Can't Dance' on Cassette Single years ago. Should at least get there greatest hits one day. I like their music. Good solid band.
Daniel Thomas Andrew Daly For the longest time, I had the "We Can't Dance" tape. Then, as I clicked on the link for the song, I saw the year of release, 1991. The first thought that crossed my mind? "Fuck me, it's been that long already..."
+Daniel Thomas Andrew Daly 2 other MUST HAVE Genesis albums: "The Lamb" (PG's high point) and "Seconds Out": arguably the greatest live album ever recorded.
Honestly One Of Genesis' best. An extremely underrated track and album this is. Such great lyrics, and instrumental to it. One of my favorites. Genesis, is a true one of a kind. Legends.
This song is so atmospheric and relaxing. It has a great message too! I always think of Simba walking up Pride Rock when the rain is coming down with this song.
Suddenly I got nostalgic for the 90s and got transported to when I was a kid listening to this album as well as watching The Lion King on the VCR. Those were the days. :)
To paraphrase: If you take the the tears, from crying eyes, will the hurt just disappear, put a pair of drumsticks, in the hands of a frightened boy, will he show no fear?...That became my inspiration @ 6 years old at the Boys & Girls club on 92nd and Harold st, in Portland, Oregon to start playing. I haven't stopped since.
Jim Smith. You are the stupid one. If you can not just enjoy a great song then do not listen. There is no reason to yell your crap. So shut your dirty mouth.
I started to play drum thanks to this song and the whole album. Can't understand why people complains about this production, just only because is more "earable" than the others...maybe pop, and so what??
Listening to this you must think how low is nowaday's music is...this song is perfect, this was the first band that got me into Music and I consider myself lucky
completely right. though phil probably wasn't famous when he was a teenager. also a problem with today's music. a song like the one here couldn't have been written by someone so young.
@SPeacock Thank you, this notice is interesting for me. But a piece (from around 4:10) of it was used on the end titles of VHS of "We Can't Dance Tour".
Powerful song that came from a powerful album that proved Genesis had alot more glory years ahead of them with Phil collins but unfortunately this was the last studio album Genesis had with Phil.
Miguel Mendes I agree. I always felt this was a hidden gem & should’ve been a single. It’s amazing how many catchy songs, by popular artists, never made it onto the radio back in the 80’s/90’s.
No accident that it didn't climb the charts. It's political and it was too critical for its era. As awesome as it is, telling people that your polarised world order is baloney wouldn't have passed too well in popular media.
fabulous song that deserves to be known and listened again and again by billions of people
Definitely .
I still think this song and "dreaming while you sleep" are the best songs on this album.
This song brings tears to my eyes.
This song deserved millions of views, very underrated
God, I love this album.
Me too, it's my favorite Genesis album
Genesis - a fantastic band, my all time favourite in fact! Great music from both their eras - the Peter Gabriel era of the early 70’s and the more pop sounding, Phil Collins era. I love both eras.
Rutherford's backbeat bass grooves, Banks brandishes with brilliance on the boards, and Phil's drum pattern makes this track uber chill.

You are very very correct! I agree with you: God inspired this letter.
It's a shame there is no live recording of this song. For me and maybe others, Way of the world is the best song Genesis has ever released. Phenomenal 👍🏻

No matter what colour we are on the outside, we are all the same colour on the inside. Let’s hope that humanity won’t forget that.

Easy for me: most favourite is always Abacab.
I'm 38 years old and still listening to these like it's still 1991. Little league baseball days, before I went to prison and veered off the wrong path
Hopefully, these days, you're doing better.
Always liked this song. Never bought a Genesis album in my life, but did by 'I Can't Dance' on Cassette Single years ago. Should at least get there greatest hits one day. I like their music. Good solid band.

Suddenly I got nostalgic for the 90s and got transported to when I was a kid listening to this album as well as watching The Lion King on the VCR. Those were the days. :)
Phil compositions are simple story telling

Denise Davis Ditto driving the last spike is OK too. This is my favourite Genesis Album-----------Memories!!!

As a 14 year old I get excited about getting a job that I could possibly like more than school, man time must pass fast.
Zontar82 lol funny I only cared if me tissue in bra was just so
Zontar82 I by listening to thia song remember the good great wonderful times
arguably one of the best albums by Genesis next to Invisible Touch.
Elyse Solomonson I agree. The Gabriel snobs are wrong. Collins are more musically gifted imo.
But everyone has their opinion.
Jim Smith shut the hell up, you opinionated fucktard
Arguably. Listen to Trick of the Tail and Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.
bellyofanarchitect It's one of the best albums end of!!
Invisible Touch was mainly AOR slop. Only Domino, Tonight and the Brazilian are worth playing on a loop
Remind me my chikdhood, fantastic song!!
Someone who's a teenager who also loves Genesis?
Brilliant spiritual sprinkling! At 58
Magnifica canción! Y musicalmente!!! Excelente...
Saudades de um tempo que não volta mais eu era feliz e não sabia hoje só lembranças quando ouço músicas como essa .

Genesis we miss you so much
amazing song

Mack Sarnie yeah
So they’re griping that it sounds too good? SMH. Ppl always gotta bitch about something. The production was perfect on this song.

Father had this on the cassette single with HOLD ON MY HEART.
Also with the Aussie live version of "Your Own Special Way"
Well at least he had ONE listenable track on it. I've always liked this
***** Yes, always loved that- sounds great through surround speakers!
This song always reminds me of summer
A lot of Phil Collins tunes bring out the Summer in all of us. 😏👍😎

Another of Phil's heart breaking songs
Wasn't Mike Rutherford the main songwriter of this song?
This song is awesome.
Way of the world is a great song by Phil Collins & Genesis circa 1991!
Great Genesis song real depth and meaning.
Great keyboards from Banks. One of the better non single tracks on WCD.
j'aime!!!

A radio-friendly tune DRIPPING with charisma---the boys do it again!
+S.A. Hogan Yeah, great song. Too bad it wasn't released as a single. I think it would've done pretty well.

Linda música...................

even when popped and commercialized, genesis talent shines through. it's no foxtrot, like it just the same though.
Listening to this you must think how low is nowaday's music is...this song is perfect, this was the first band that got me into Music and I consider myself lucky

@SPeacock Thank you, this notice is interesting for me. But a piece (from around 4:10) of it was used on the end titles of VHS of "We Can't Dance Tour".

This is The B-side to Hold On My Heart
Powerful song that came from a powerful album that proved Genesis had alot more glory years ahead of them with Phil collins but unfortunately this was the last studio album Genesis had with Phil.
2022 👌💯❤️
Enough hooks to be a single instead of Tell me Why. I think it would have fared much better on the charts.
Miguel Mendes I agree. I always felt this was a hidden gem & should’ve been a single. It’s amazing how many catchy songs, by popular artists, never made it onto the radio back in the 80’s/90’s.
It actually was released as the B - Side to Hold on My Heart which peaked at #16
No accident that it didn't climb the charts. It's political and it was too critical for its era. As awesome as it is, telling people that your polarised world order is baloney wouldn't have passed too well in popular media.
[] It never made the charts because it wasn’t released as a single.
Tell me why was one of several tracks that should never have made the album.
