This is amazing when you have a sick child. I tried this when my daughter had her tonsils removed. Just added peas and carrots. She loved it and when she feels queezy, she’ll ask for this. Mind you she is a very picky eater.

I absolutely feel you because even to set up, prep, cook and film at same time is very tedious. However you made it look seamlessly easy! Not to talk about EDITING it in style like you do consumes a lot of tome and energy! It looks yum!many thanks from joycestyleofcooking and enjoy your day ❤
Pretty much like Jook, except your process is so much easier to make then what I've been doing. I never think of it as slimming meal as it can be a whole meal in itself, it you add in Chinese Parsley, pickled daikon, char siu,, green onions, slivers of fried egg, or using roasted duck/chicken or adding chili oil to it. Hmmm, great hot meal on cold snowy or wet days with fried gyoza or mandoo. Going to try it when I get a chance.
Thank you for the recipe! I am from Russia, and I have never eaten a dish like that. It looks absolutely delicious and heartwarming, I wonder what it tastes like! 🤤✨
Wow! The video and the recipe... Really impressed and I'm definitely gonna make this tomorrow! Thank you so much for the effort and amazing production quality of your content!
Love your channel everytime me and my daughter cook we always say it in a fun way after we taste our cooking ..."Asian at Home"😅😅😅.. we love to say that and we love you for your cheerful and fun way of cooking... love u from Philippines to the moon and back...😘😘😘😅😅😅...we enjoy every video of yours...thank you for sharing .🙂
Hi in the Philippines porridge rice or lugaw (Tagalog) that’s our part of our comfort food. You should plan to visit Philippines, there’s a lot of beautiful islands in my country. Palawan or Boracay are one of the nicest tourist spots in the Philippines. And there’s more places to explore.
Came back to say I tried this today! I think I did well for my first time because it tasted quite nice. Sadly I only had green onion an sesame oil to garnish ): and I think if I had a bone-in chicken (I used boneless skinless chicken breast) it would be even more flavorful. At the end, I definitely understood that this was the type of dish that you can add lots of toppings to. I think next time I'll get put some furikake flakes....maybe an egg. I googled & saw that ppl put bacon or coriander or dried plums. Kinda like pizza. Anywayyy, 10/10 for me :)
I’ve never tried porridge before😭 but now I want to! This looks so delicious, I will definitely give this recipe a try! Also you look poppin’ ! I love the hair and dress😍✨
Seonkyoung, I made chicken porridge this past Saturday and googled to see if you had a recipe (I always trust your recipes to turn out the best) and you didn't have one. Cut to one day later and you posted one XD ! I looked at a bunch of recipes to make mine and turns out we did it almost entirely the same way :)
I"ve now made this, the tom kha gai soup, spicy garlic eggplant, filipino rice with garlic, green onions and butter, orange chickenless cauliflower, japchae, chilli oil. All your recipes are so good
Making.a richer broth is key to this dish..cook whole chicken or 6 thighs for 3/4 hours with whole onion and one celery stick..big pot to cook stock down to half..take out chicken onion celery..flavor to taste and continue with cooking rice..etc..
Also would love to see your version of Seaweed soup (miyuk guk) ! I lack depth and flavor when I make it but I hope you can create a recipe that’s delicious
sort of like chicken and rice soup? Ive never had homemade chicken and rice soup, but i would think its close to this.Looks pretty good..and super easy to do..Cool..Thanks
That wasn't enough water for mine? I have no clue what I did wrong but 30 mins ( I was simmering it on low) but 30 mins in and the water was almost gone!
That looks really good . i like that she cooked it without any oils at all , its so refreshing to see . Nowadays almost everything is cooked with cooking oils , just wish she didnt add that sesame oil at the end 😭😭
So, just to confirm you used the WOK iron cast? Or was it a different pot? I see the website has different sizes, and wanted to know how many inches the pot in video is. This seems like the perfect amount for my family and I😊.

Yum !! Freakin’ yum!
Could put the link for the wok please? I love the wok
This was awesome!
When boiling the chicken won’t the chicken yuckiness get into the broth?
You're a great cook and funny too! That's what I ❤ about you! Thank you!

When did you add in the carrots and peas?

I love this porridge when I’m not feeling well. My mother used to make this on my sick days. But it’s also good on a really cold day💜 Love it 💜
The best on a cold winter day or when not feeling well
This reminds me of Disney cartoons’ Mulans breakfast at the soldiers camp. Love!!
