- This is the ULTIMATE full size Mercedes sedan. The AMG S63 has a 4.0L Bi-Turbo V8 that pumps out 603HP & is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It's power is transferred to the ground through Mercedes' 4Matic AWD system. It's exterior has unique AMG bodywork and option 20in forged wheels. On the inside you will seat in the lap of luxury and have plenty of room for your passengers. Does the Mercedes AMG S63 have enough performance for the price?

It's pretty amazing that Merc / AMG were able to get fuel economy that efficient out of that big old V8. I'm sure some of it comes from the bi turbos, but those are still better fuel numbers than 6 cylinders were making 10 - 15 years ago. Out of a V8 pushing over 600+ hp. That's honestly super impressive.

Fantastic review, my man. I just got a 2020 S 63 AMG and I'm extremely addicted to it. I lose sleep a lot because I can't really sleep in anticipation of getting up to drive the next day. I drive aimlessly at times because the car is so thrilling to drive. Not to mention it's a head turner. Amazing car. Very few will experience the breath taking joy of driving an S Class. I'm grateful for the experience. New sub here. Keep it up.
I can TOTALLY understand your pen about this car, was/is the same way with my 2022 Audi A8 L. Black on Black, Black option package, rear wheel steering, the total package. Not gloating, bragging or bloating about this car, those who own such vehicles are in a rare category. I absolutely LOVE my car, compliments most EVERYWHERE I go...Yet, after driving the AMG S63, driving experience has NOT been the same...what if's driving me crazy!
How has the reliability been?
No major repairs needed. Regular maintenance so far.
Sometimes I watch a Raiti's Rides video and I literally can't believe what I'm seeing. What I'm seeing is a half mad Joe Raiti racing through nearly deserted Florida streets and laughing maniacally. I love it!
Good job Joe always kicking butt with the reviews. Love the clip at the end where it was just you in the car hoping that we got a good perspective. Keep it up it adds a nice touch to your audience.
I drove the S class and then the RR Ghost. Credit to the S class as I enjoyed the interior more. Although there’s nothing like pulling up somewhere with the Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood. 😎

Raschaud Farmer the end result matters not the journey. The Ghost: some of the materials inside were disappointing. The plastic switch gear - it should be metal at that price point (the steering wheel is an example) Ghost II didn’t move anything along from Ghost I.
I prefer the design S-class interior design and there are nice touches with the ambient lighting and the way it’s done. I was more impressed with the S-Class.

@@dsell37 my 2015 bmw 750li has been a champ ... i drive from LA to SF and LA to Vegas a lot have over 110,000 miles and never a issue ... i'm right at that 5 year that you talk about but i have 8 - 9 years worth of miles of what people who buy these cars usually do ,, i guess we'll wait and see but i'm waiting until the (2021) new interior benz S class is 1 year old maybe 2 year and then i'll get rid of the 7 series and get that Benz .... i def agree with you guys never buy or lease brand new , wait 1 - 2 years and the price to drop 30%

What an amazing review of an amazing car, this AMG product is one of the best hands down. I am in awe after seeing the exquisite interior, the finish on this product is the best i've seen plus with that performance i think 130,000 dollars is a bargain.

Hey, Joey! I've always loved looking for AMG videos on the E, S and GTR classes. This car is one of a kind. I believe the S63, beats the Audi S8 and BMW M750Li. I would choose the benz over those but everyone has their own opinion and choice. God bless you guys.

One thing to note is he keeps saying "I wish they would've." Thing is that the options that were missing were by the buyer's choice of options and not MB leaving it out or doing it wrong. Just worth noting for those who didn't know
Joe - In regards to accelerator/brake pedal design, would suggest the use of the phrase "truncated dome design with rubber domes with/through a brushed aluminum surface plate". Write technical reports for a living and that design is similar to handicapped crosswalk identification pavement surface design. One of a million suggestions I'm sure. Love the vids. Keep em coming.

With your love for good engine covers I'd figure you'd love to know that the engine cover for all the 4.0 V8's from Mercedes (or at least the 63 AMG's) are functionally part of the engines cooling, as you can see the twin air ducts connected to it.

Considering this is a luxury car, first and foremost, despite an AMG engine, I can do without the carbon fiber and the [thankfully] missing trunk wing scoop. The seat controls being moved to the door is one of my favorite features in any car. On a scale from 0-perfect, I’d put it at about 95% for me.
I am still enjoying my 2012 CL 63 and really thinking about getting an upgrade to the S63 coupe.... But I have had no problem whatsoever with this 8 years on....S63 is really really gorgeous thou

Nice review! One thing though the facelift and power changed in the 2018 model upgraded from the 2017. So this 2019 is the same as 2018 in terms of power/torque. Also the performance numbers you mentioned of 0-60 in 3 secs and 11.2 1/4 is the lighter E63 AMG not the S63. The S63 is 0-60 in 3.4 secs and 11.6 at 121 1/4.

Back in 2015 I leased a s63 AMG,that car was like being in a boat,now I drive a 2020 flying spur,i only lease cars because once the warranty is over that’s when you start seeing problems with your car

Even though by now they are immensely distant,vastly different cousins, it doesn't surprise me in the least that the platform provided by Mercedes-Benz are found on two of the most powerful sedans in the world, this AMG S63, and the Charger Hellcat.
Certainly it comes as no surprise that any vehicle that has any Benz "DNA" will be one of the most durable cars on earth.
