Modified Dubuque Rig Walleye
In my mind a Drop shot is sunk with a weight & a Dubuque Rig is sunk with a heavy jig.
The traditional Dubuque rig is meant for current & river fishing. With a heavy jig on bottom, three way connection with a leader & lighter jig above. In my mind it’s a double jig rig.
Well we’re not fishing in a river, it’s a reservoir. So I modified the rig & put in a 1/0 single hook like a drop shot rig. A great rig for precise fishing, use it just like a drop shot rig.
You can sit stationary or move around slow, down a break line or on structure like humps. Even change your bait on any of the hooks from minnows to leeches or crawlers. Either way it puts walleye in the boat & that’s all that matters to me.

Can definitely switch up bait choices on the jig or drop shot hook to figure out what they prefer where. It’s a dandy technique, one would be surprised which fish eat the jig off bottom & up higher.

Or a stacker rig a guy could call it, I was fishing the Dubuque rig then changed out the 3 way for a drop shot hook.
