How to Dismantle a Pallet - QUICK & EASY with Simple Tool

  • After dismantling a few pallets for my dream workshop project, I have found the quick and easy working sequence, with only simple tool. I would like to share how I strip the pallet with only a sledgehammer, claw hammer and some scrap wooden blocks. It took me average of 15 minutes to dismantling a pallet, but of course it depends on the type of pallets.
    I hope this is helpful. Thanks for watching.

    IMPRESSIVE! This is a good lesson on 'If there is a will, there is a way', and you don't need a garage full of tools to get the job done.

    Now that's what I call "smart working". And I like how you used the tools you restored to dismantle the pallet, another thing I appreciate about your videos is that you don't play annoying background music like most TH-camrs do, most of the time I won't even watch a video more than 1 minute if there is annoying background music, thank you.

    Thanks for taking the time to share. Very simple technique for breaking down pallets, as already mentioned elsewhere, without a garage full of specialist tools. I've got a pallet sitting outside as I write - came with a delivery of OSB - and I think I'll give your method a go right now.

    No I haven’t looked at the comments yet, so maybe someone has said this but first I wanna say I’m an old guy, so I’m not bending down and crawling around on the floor and playing whack-a-mole with these pallets I was fortunate enough to find one of those pry tools on Facebook marketplace for 30 bucks so it was worth it for me.however, I would suggest for her to maybe make some kind of table and then find a piece of wood, log enough that extends the entire length of the pallet and cut, however many other little prop boards that she needs, so she just hast to put everything in once wacko slide him to the middle wackos pull the big board out, stick a little prop boards on the other side and take care of the other side. I think I’d save her a lot of time. Again, I haven’t read the comments so if somebody’s already said this, forgive me. Good luck to you young lady. It’s always good to see people utilizing resources that are available mostly for free and turning them in to something useful.

    • @Timri3681

      Oh yeah! Those twisted ones, I've recently come across nails that have these little copper-looking barbs, such a *PAIN* to pull! And if the head breaks off, pretty much impossible to work out of the wood!

    I usually hate people commenting security concerns, and now I am doing it myself… when I was a child, I did something similar and managed to run a rusty nail right through my hand. Dad drove me to hospital, mum bought me a LEGO-ship for being so brave… :-)
    Please, get yourself in the habit to put wood with nails in it always “face down“, so the nails point to the ground. The day WILL come you are just steping back for reaching that screwdriver and… someone has to get you a LEGO ship. And those are expensive!

    • @theymaker125

  • @davesullivan8073
    @davesullivan8073 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like it but I’m an old man so the bending over and the extra time it takes to be knocking the nails out on the floor and stuff probably wouldn’t go this route I usually cut the nails too about an inch or two and then knock them out it’s a lot easier the girl had great skills though

    Not so easy if the nails are spiral or ring shank which is more common. Easy if straight plain old 8d nails were used.

    Isnt this black part mold? And how do you use such wood if there is mold on it? Can you simply put it into a thicknesser? Wont it then go into the air and when working in a small room without a lot of fresh air this could be really bad for the health no? I also today disassebled a pallet that looked better but similar at some points and im not sure how to handle those.
