At first, I thought the surrounding Tzeentch warriors walking out of the treeline were previously NURGLE Warriors, Vilitch had just dominated their minds when he waved his magic staff. Which I thought would be a faction mechanic at the start of battles, like with Slaanesh.
I honestly thought I wouldn't care too much for Vilitch (and that's with me being a Tzeentch fan), but this trailer has me convinced. Now he might be my first playthrough.
They both looks awesome but the newer one does seem a tad anemic compared to the older one One thing I don't like about some of the heavily armoured Chaos dudes is the exposed necks, they're otherwise like tanks but then their necks just scream stab/slash me
It's worth mentioning that the AoS model you showed is a "generic" Curseling rather than Vilitch. He didn't survive the transition from End Times to AoS and lost Special Character status.
I knew that Vilitch the Damned would be a very interesting champion of chaos. It is interesting to add Chaos Dragons of Tzeentch and Arcanites of Tzeentch. I think adding some lords such as Egrimm van Horstmann.
His left shoulder and part of chest is unarmored but the guy just had to throw the javelin into the armored part lol. Maybe the Nurgle warrior doesn't like gore so he wanted to hit the armor, but then again the Blood DLC isn't out yet so he wouldn't see any gore regardless. :x
The aesthetic and movement i hope is translated i to the game. Seeing nurgle warrior hunched over and as they approach really fits them and seeing Vilich pretty much ‘activate’ his forces would be super cool to see.
A thing of note is that they don't have the ability to change regional winds of magic like Kairos. So to get the high winds buff, they'll have to be in channeling stance a majority of the time, which hopefully won't slow down the campaign too much.
From what I have played so far, channeling stance is not that much of a dropback. It only really hits when you spend multiple turns in a settlement recruiting.
Which lords had exciting skill-trees that could let you choose between two different forms to make them more exciting. Like that mod for Eltharion where you could either keep him as "The Warden" or change him into "The Blind".
While the idea is cool, I dont think it would make too much sense since Vilitch was sorta punished for failing during the End Times. It would also be difficult to justify it in the Skill tree...youd have to do 2 seperate Trees or atleast Hero specific Traits which are bound to the completion of a quest to unlock...
I knew people who heard voices,I knew people who had Tapeworms, really big ones. Never knew of people who had sentient giant spell casting tapeworms coming out of their asses. I guess its Tzeentch's jam but Slaanesh is licking its lips! 😅
@@Asraeks it's just truly a disappointing dlc that everyone is jumping onto because of nice looking trailers ffs they wasted time giving them a roc mechanic which no one likes that before they made them have actually unique mechanics themselves not a good first dlc at all
@@Asraeks They aren't paywalling any units. The units are part of the patch that comes with the DLC, all the DLC does is unlock the new LLs. So you'll still be able to use mortal units with the monogod factions even if you don't buy the DLC.
I hope his mortal units get some sort of Glamour debuff like Drycha's elves, making Vilitch and any daemon units much stronger as a tradeoff, I think it'd fit thematically but also use an interesting mechanic we haven't seen much of.
Who knows if Vilich has some ability that allows his brother to take back control when low on hp, maybe removing spellcasting but boosting other stats. That sure would be cool
Personally I think vassals are quite neat in TW:WH3, its not TW:3K but its a nice thematic touch, though it would be nice if the AI would use vassalisation more in that regard.
Not a fan of Tzeentch, but damn Vilitch looks amazing. I love how his big brother shows no emotion or pain. His movements seem robotic in nature. He reminds me of the Terminator, and I love it.
As much as Vilitch is neat, I really want to see Aekold Helbrass come into TW: Warhammer because he's possibly the most unique Chaos Champion GW ever made.
@@gaddag1477 Tbf, a lot of them didn’t have mounts but got one, lokhir, Ikkit, Teclis and more. Sometimes a mount really adds to the model. Also some NEED a mount option to have even some chance of being competitive. Plenty don’t some do. Besides, I’m all for the optional mount, since it increases gameplay options, which as a video game is really important. An optional mount means people can ignore it if they want lore accurate.
the only nitpick I have is I think they should have given the mask from the Tzeentch cultist to the Marauders instead of the generic Marauder Helmet. But I'm sure mods can do a lot to make marked Marauders more thematic.

In regards to granting combat abilities to your vassals, I think it's intended to be used in conjunction with the "Borrow Army" alliance option. We've seen that WoC can vassalize more than just Norscans, so you could end up doing battles as Greenskins or Bretonnians with barrier this way.
Good thing chaos warriors/chosen are slow and ogres have good shooting. I am pretty sure that is literally their only viable tool against chosen halberds with a barrier. Otherwise they will get absolutely mulched.
They only heal if they can get away from damage and between artillery bombardment on the approach and other missiles they may just be a waste of doubloons like past chosen who were hardly worth it in multiplayer because elite infantry gets cumstered and dumpstered the most easily compared to other elite units. Kinda hope they're viable tho actually 😬
If they're going the way of making the marked tzeentch warriors mindless automata like the Thousand Sons from 40K I am absolutely thrilled, but I got a feeling they won't take it that far
A thing about the Twisted Twin from the Sound of it Casting and being in melee causes his Spellmastery, MD and MA to go up. But it's not one or the other if he casts his MD and MA will go up and if he fights in battle his Spellmastery will still go up.
I like to play on normal difficulty for a chill time and I found that the AI chaos factions would usually not do well against the forces of order. All this will balance it out I'm sure.
I must admit I was confused when I received the teaser email which just had a forest and a single set of eyes lighting up. I assumed it had to be Vilitch but I couldn't see the connection until now. Very nice trailer - CA do them so well. Looking forward to Gorequeen.
My best guess is adding poison and barriers to vassals helps with autoresolve values. But fighting with them can just be helpful. Barrier means they can take the brunt of initial damage during engagements as you purposely lag behind them, and poison..... well Nurgle already has a ton og poison but I guess it means you can spread the poison around even more..... and use the vassal as a meat shield still. More health or minor regen(like 1 per second) for Festus would have been better if ya ask me.
Nice storytelling on the twins' lore. Very cool, very Warhammer story. Poor Tomb Kings, it's hard to think of what tools the TK have that can deal with any of the Chaos factions, esp when most of the Mortal world is trying to banish them as well.
Vessel of Chaos granting winds whenever the enemy miscasts could be cool. Would probably have to be paired with something that increases miscast chance to work properly. It would also work in multiplayer, while lowering enemy reserves and increasing your own probably wouldn't (especially in domination where he might not be deployed at the start of the battle) and I don't see CA making a character's signature item/ability non-functional in multiplayer. Seems more Tzeentch-y than lowering enemy WoM. Make sure there are lots of spells going off but all the enemy spells backfire. Going by the trailer, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a way to make units unbreakable in campaign. I don't really see lobotomised warriors running.
Indy what do you think about nurgle mortal models ? Mainly chosen and chaos warriors. I get downvoted to oblivion in reddit when I mention how lack luster they are compared to the other chaos warriors it's as if you can't critique CA. But critiquing CA is what got as the big chaos horses and better doom knights in first place.

Also, both Tzeentchian and Slaaneshi reskins of the warriors units look awesome thus far (I did not like the Nurgle ones). Looking forward to Valkia's reveal next week and of course Vilitch's Let's Play tomorrow!
Now largely cause I suck, Tzeentch and Slaanesh were always so hard to manage cause of their slow replenishment and micro tactics. But with the idea of warriors of chaos, which have(or had don't know what's changed yet) replenishment I'm really excited. Cause now I can have mo options and have potentially better replenishment. So hopefully playing Azazel and Vilitch will be better experiences than N;kari and Kairos. Super excited all around for champions of chaos and IE, it's gonna be great! Also love how Azazel starts north of cathay in realms of chaos but then Vilitch kinda(Sort of) starts there now in IE.
In my game 1/2 campaigns I would make a Chaos Sorcerer Lord named Vilitch with an embedded Exalted hero named Thomund. Thomund had a small amount of adaptational heroism in those campaigns since I imagined that Thomund was the only one to show kindness to Vilitch in his youth which is why they aren't merged in that timeline.
Where did you get the end times info? I read the books yet i keep hearing about things that werent in them. I'm starting to wonder if i missed some books!
there's the novels, then there's the narrative armybooks with some of the rules. Siege of Averheim was late, probably in End Times Archaon (the narrative armybook)

Just to nitpick, I wished Vilitch had a shorter "cord" connecting him to his brother. They probably did it because of some animation, he looks like the end of a tentacle instead of tumor. But again, Tormin's body is so big that he needs it to move around and be noticiable
They're going with the 8th edition named champions, minus Sigvald since he was already in. So there was little chance of Egrimm in this DLC. He'll probably come in the future, I'm more worried for Aekold Helbrass since Egrimm might take his only chance of getting a slot.
Yo, indy, just wondering what out of the three trailers shown so far has the weakest chosen and warriors models, and what your reason is. For me, it's Nurgle, but that being said, I am happy Nurgle lords are getting their own staff.
I hate to say it but vassals really need a different mechanic to be interesting. Think the FoC corruption special missions. Just shake it up a bit. Maybe even a spin on the imperial assistance missions

CA has really been knocking it out of the park with bringing these weirder and more grotesque TT figures to 3d animated models.

They're going with the 8th edition named champions, minus Sigvald since he was already in. So there was little chance of Egrimm in this DLC.
He'll probably come in the future, I'm more worried for Aekold Helbrass since Egrimm might take his only chance of getting a slot.

I hate to say it but vassals really need a different mechanic to be interesting. Think the FoC corruption special missions. Just shake it up a bit. Maybe even a spin on the imperial assistance missions

no not Ettins, just called Warshrine Beasts. they are their own thing and only serve as carriers for the Warshrine, wont be a separate unit
