Nice little video Clare. But as a Yorkshireman I’ll give you some advice for your puds. Start off with the Plain Flour in a bowl with a pinch of salt. Make a well in the middle and add the eggs. Beat together to a thick batter. Then add the Milk a little bit at a time until your batter is smooth. Put the batter in the fridge for at least an hour to settle before cooking. Put your oven on to highest setting and get your fat really hot (Lard is better than oil too). Add the batter to the pan/tray and cook on highest setting for about 10 minutes to get the pud to rise. Then turn down the heat to Gas Mark 7 (or 220 degrees) and let cook for another 5 to 10 minutes. 11:58 And DON’T OPEN THE OVEN DOOR until it’s cooked lol. It’s easy to get flat puds by opening the oven door. Second tip is measurements. Use equal amounts with the Flour and Eggs….So 4 ounces of Flour with 4 Eggs, 6 ounces with 6 Eggs etc. Then for the milk it’s about half a pint for six Eggs/Flour and work around for more or less quantities. Third tip….ignore the bloody idiots who tell you it’s a waste of electricity, or your using too many Eggs for Yorkshire Puddings. Good food is worth doing properly!
@ very welcome luvvy, just watching your Shepherds Pie video (Cottage/Cumberland Pie lol). I love down to earth creators so you’ve got a new subscriber 🥰
Use the vegetable water you cooked your vegetables in to add to gravy instead of plain water, you get gorgeous flavour and most importantly the goodness xx
No one makes proper gravy these days. Not even when you go out to a restaurant. You can tell the difference with proper homemade gravy and gravy granules or bisto it comes nothing near proper homemade!
I would sear the joint first in a little oil to brown it. And I would lay it on a bed of sliced onions then pour over beef stock. Add a bay leaf too. 👍
Me too then I add onions to my fry pan cook them lightly! Then add to slow cooker! I put boiled water into my frying pan and boil it up , you get the flavor from onion ! I add a little Worcestershire sauce and cook !

Slow cooker and air fryer are very low electricity units to run, the oven would have needed to be used much longer and cost much more had the potatoes and/or meat been cooked that way. As it was the oven was only used for a shorter while for the pudding and veg. Economic way of cooking. Let’s be positive about people’s different approaches and learn from each other.

Roast beef in the slow cooker is yummy...i do beef and lamb in mine til it falls apart. i always add a dollop of mustard in with the beef..and mint sauce too....another tip is to use the water you boiled your veg in for the gravy for extra flavour or better still add them to the slow cooker in the last hour of cooking the meat so all flavours combine. I never cut crosses in my sprouts as you don't need to... they can go a bit mushy cos the water gets into them when cut xx

Hi, a slow cooker costs about 5p per hour so 25p for that plus 40 mins for the oven at 200 degrees is about 90p. Cost of air fryer for 20 mins 20p. Cost of hob for 10 mins 8p. Boil kettle for hob 3p. So about £1.46 all together
I would have definitely rinsed the meat under cold water just to clean and get the blood from it, i wouldn't put straight into air fryer without cleaning it.
