Nice little video Clare. But as a Yorkshireman I’ll give you some advice for your puds.
Start off with the Plain Flour in a bowl with a pinch of salt. Make a well in the middle and add the eggs.
Beat together to a thick batter. Then add the Milk a little bit at a time until your batter is smooth.
Put the batter in the fridge for at least an hour to settle before cooking.
Put your oven on to highest setting and get your fat really hot (Lard is better than oil too).
Add the batter to the pan/tray and cook on highest setting for about 10 minutes to get the pud to rise. Then turn down the heat to Gas Mark 7 (or 220 degrees) and let cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.
11:58 And DON’T OPEN THE OVEN DOOR until it’s cooked lol. It’s easy to get flat puds by opening the oven door.
Second tip is measurements. Use equal amounts with the Flour and Eggs….So 4 ounces of Flour with 4 Eggs, 6 ounces with 6 Eggs etc. Then for the milk it’s about half a pint for six Eggs/Flour and work around for more or less quantities.
Third tip….ignore the bloody idiots who tell you it’s a waste of electricity, or your using too many Eggs for Yorkshire Puddings. Good food is worth doing properly!

No one makes proper gravy these days. Not even when you go out to a restaurant. You can tell the difference with proper homemade gravy and gravy granules or bisto it comes nothing near proper homemade!

Lady is right about using veg liquid, thought everyone knew that.
ROAST BEEF never. Using slow cooker oven and air fryer what a waist or electricity.
Potatoes plated several minuets before anything else, dinner could not have been hot, 25:37

    • @sheenavaughan2717
      @sheenavaughan2717 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Slow cooker and air fryer are very low electricity units to run, the oven would have needed to be used much longer and cost much more had the potatoes and/or meat been cooked that way. As it was the oven was only used for a shorter while for the pudding and veg.
      Economic way of cooking.
Let’s be positive about people’s different approaches and learn from each other.

Roast beef in the slow cooker is yummy...i do beef and lamb in mine til it falls apart. i always add a dollop of mustard in with the beef..and mint sauce too....another tip is to use the water you boiled your veg in for the gravy for extra flavour or better still add them to the slow cooker in the last hour of cooking the meat so all flavours combine. I never cut crosses in my sprouts as you don't need to... they can go a bit mushy cos the water gets into them when cut xx

Always add liquids to the flour not the other way around this way avoids lumps. Then let the batter rest for at least 2-3 hours so the flour can fully swell, not 20 mins in a fridge. You beat the hell out of your batter no need if you follow these tips.

This is not a Roast Beef Dinner. 'Roasting' is a dry cooking method which takes place inside an oven or over hot coals.

@CatCat-v5g true, I wanted to show you can cook the beef in the slow cooker and still make the other parts of a roast beef dinner.

I think many of us in the North just refer to meat and veg and Yorshirepudding as a roast dinner. Ohften we say shall we have a Sunday dinner even on a weekday.

How many eggs would you use for a Yorkshire pudding big enough for 4 people?

Your comment is ridiculous! You use as many eggs as needed for the amount of puddings you need.

I cannot understand you just using the oven to do your Yorkshire pudding. Waste of electricity. Just needed to put the roast potatoes in then halfway through cooking you could have put your pudding on then. Why put a cross in the sprouts. No need. They get waterlogged otherwise.

    • @claresfoodhaven

Yes I could have done the roasties in the oven but they take about 50 mins in this oven

Not a waste of electricity at all and definitely needed for proper home cooked food.

@normabyde4766 she can't cook as an amateur either! All her techniques are wrong!
Even a home cook can tell you that. She needs to learn a variety of home cooking techniques and skills first.
