9:37 It's as George Lucas said in the Clone Wars writers' meeting in 2010: "The core of the Force-I mean, you got the dark side, the light side, one is selfless, one is selfish [...] when you go to the dark side is it goes out of balance and you get really selfish and you forget about everybody … because when you get selfish you get stuff, or you want stuff, and when you want stuff and you get stuff then you are afraid somebody is going to take it away from you. [...] Where joy, by giving to other people, you can’t think about yourself, and therefore there’s no pain. But the pleasure factor of greed and of selfishness is a short-lived experience, therefore you’re constantly trying to replenish it, but of course the more you replenish it, the harder it is to, so you have to keep upping the ante. You’re actually afraid of the pain of not having the joy. So that is ultimately the core of the whole dark side/light side of the Force. And everything flows from that. Obviously the Sith are always unhappy because they never get enough of anything they want. Mostly, their selfishness centers around power and control. And the struggle is always to be able to let go of all that stuff."
Wow, very well said by the man himself 👏👏. Funnily enough, I actually never heard him say that before! I'm just glad that my words were validated by George🔥
I love how Ewan gives all he has to portray a broken Jedi, tormented by his past, his exile and an annoying kid that nearly got him killed more than one time. I have plenty of issues with the show, but none of those is related to Obi-Wan himself.
Me too. I read/watched a lot of hateful reviews of the Kenobi series and just didn't see it. Yeah, I admit, there's things I would change if I could, but all in all I enjoyed it. I also really understood Obi-Wan, having gone through times of great triumphs and great failures and trying to reclaim myself. I'm not sure how to feel about Reva. She was a great idea, but something didn't translate well- either the plot line, her personality, the improbabilities. I don't know. I can't put my finger on it. Other villains in the Star Wars universe are imprinted on our brains- Palpatine, Darth Vader, Jabba, Dooku, heck even Darth Maul who only said maybe a couple lines! 😂😂😂😂 The thing is- most of the baddies in recent years are very unremarkable. These writers and directors don't know how to bring about a memorable bad guy anymore.
Obi Wan has always been my favorite character. The truest Jedi. Everything about his character involves the act of over coming his own failures. While always being true to his beliefs in the teachings of the Jedi. Like many Jedi he started by losing his family, then almost not being picked as a padwan. His master initially doesn't care for him and tells him he's to weak in the force to ever become a great Jedi. Then he ends up training the chosen one only to have that apprentice turn to the dark side. Along the way loses the love of his life. In the end he watches the order he has modeled his life with their teachings crumble from thousands to just a handful. He is then tasked with protecting the son of his apprentice, a child that the hopes of any future for the Jedi is placed on his shoulders. In the end Kenobi gives his mortal life to give a chance to his new apprentice. Kenobi was what a Jedi was supposed to be and at the same time may have been one of the main reasons the Jedi fell. What a great story he had. Anakin, and Luke were supposed to be who they ended up being. Kenobi was not. He fought for everything he had, and in the end gave everything including his own life to a cause that abandoned him. He was truly the greatest Jedi. Not the most powerful, not the best fighter. Not the most gifted. Yet still the greatest Jedi.
I think Reva was a good and important character. It was nice to see the perspective of a youngling who survived order 66. It further shows how evil and impactful that act was. She was also a good villain. Very menacing. Much better than kylo lol
@@shade.cinema he grew up with his own trauma, so I get your point about a friend turning into a monster. It ain’t easy but if you can get through what you thought was impossible, then what can’t you do?
It also explains, why he was so willing to return to the fight again in A New Hope even after all the trauma and sacrifice of the Clone Wars, as he returned to it again in this show and was in a purer state of mind, as he knew, that he wasn't responsible for Anikans fall.
Pound-for-pound Obi-Wan Kenobi is the greatest Jedi ever and this series only solidified that. I enjoyed almost everything about the show, I think it'll be remembered extremely well over time.
Obi Wan Kenobi's journey in this series mirrors Darth Maul's story in CW and Rebels. Darth Maul is found living in a cave for a decade, fixated on the past, talking quietly about his master but is called back into action and things seem to be going well for him until he's terrified to sense his past in the form of Palpatine arriving, choking the people around him, beating Maul in a fight badly but not killing him as he has plans for him down the road...JUST like Obi Wan and Darth Vader. In Maul's case, afterwards, he remained fixated on the path and in a way, was cursed to repeat the cycle due to not adapting his life style. Obi Wan is in danger of making the same mistake as Owen himself points out "Like you trained his father?" However, during his re-match with Vader, he learns that the connections he's made along the way are what help give him strength to follow the will of the force. Now on the same level of understanding of Qui Gon Jinn, he overcomes Vader, his guilt and his by the books ways, admitting Luke needs to grow up with a family, like what Anakin needed but never got (Duel of the Fates). He's now able to see Qui Gon and we next see Kenobi in the Rebels Episode, Twin Suns, facing his longest nemeses, Darth Maul. The two since the beginning have been the opposite side of their coin, partaking in the same journey and now the duel answers who made the correct decisions in said journeys. It's Obi Wan. He learned from his past mistakes and became more wise and powerful because of it while Maul remained fixated on the past in an endless cycle of hatred. Because of this, Obi Wan succeeds in guiding Luke Skywalker on the path of brining balance to the force.
It goes back to the whole selfish vs. selfless argument I made in the video. Maul was fixated on the fight because his ego as a force user was at stake. Obi-Wan let his personal feelings go and accepted the situation. Maul did everything for revenge, which he paid the ultimate price for.
Because Anakin was still hiding within the shroud of Vader I do believe it was Anakin that told Obi Wan that he wasn't responsible, to spare him the guilt. As you see the duality of fading blue from the blue light saber on his face. It's only when he tells Obi Wan that Vader killed Anakin with a sadistic smile you see the color shifts to red to represent Darth Vader taking back control.
Your explanation as to why Obi-Wan could not see Qui-Gon was pretty satisfying for me. Though we still need an explanation as to why Yoda could not see him
The biggest problem i have with obi-wan's character in the show is that we know he agreed to watch over luke and train him when he was ready.. But in the show he just cuts himself off from the force, so how would he be able to properly train luke if he himself refuses to use the force?
I address this in the video, but I'll reiterate it here for you. He basically lost the will to fight due to his traumatic experience fighting Anakin, and became apathetic about the whole thing. Mans worked a 9-5 for years. That would break anyone. Also, the Force is like a muscle. If you don't use it for long enough, your ability to use it is severely weaker than at your prime.
@@shade.cinemathis is not an acceptable response. we see that obi wan is completely accepting of his charge to watch/train Luke at the end of Ep. 3 (footage that begins your video) he has already faced Anakin and seen the rise of Vader. he understands his “purpose” in remaining by Luke is important
@@shade.cinema firstly, the Force is a fictional power from a fictional movie, so any use of it is 'unrealistic' and saying that any one use is more unrealistic than the other is ridiculous. It should be judged by what it means for the character, the best example being Luke in episode 8 using the force projection, that shows his growth and power and yet people hated it because they hadn't seen it before and they just wanted cool action, which would have been unrealistic for the character and writing, not some arbitrary list of rules for fake movie powers
@dashrendar412 hmm... Maybe they meant that it's unrealistic within the boundaries of the Force. It seems as though the Force under Disney is becoming more and more of a Deus Ex Machina type thing instead of a mysterious source of power.
@@shade.cinema I would agree if it weren't for the fact that people don't seem to want the Force to be mysterious, because they want it to fit in a box they put it in. It stifles creativity to hold yourself to "well some fans say you can't use the force like this so I guess we can't do something new or interesting that we haven't seen before" if the failure is on the story or the writing then that's one thing but if it's "that doesn't fit my list of force abilities that I made up" then no writer should be held to that
@@realdashrendarI agree, but at the same time, I think that innovative and new ideas in regard to the Force can work, as long as it doesn't break continuity of the series (Force Heal being a prime example of this)
I thought the character of Obi-Wan was well-drawn. I didn't really have a problem with him. I think that where the show failed (in my eyes, anyway) was in the characters they chose to include with Obi-Wan. Leia should *not* have been part of the show. I thought the actress did a fine job, but having them together breaks canon, as does having him meet Luke. The other problem with using Leia is that it drained all the tension from the show. We know nothing's going to happen to Leia, Obi-Wan, or Luke, or to Uncle Owen or Aunt Beru. The only one who was in any danger was Reva, and they didn't even have the decency to kill *her*. (Not that i thought the actress did a bad job, but that was the one character who was in actual danger that we might have cared about.) What I think they should've done instead is to focus on Obi-Wan helping people go on the Path. A Jedi Underground Railroad would've been an interesting thing to explore for more than 5 minutes.
I think a lot of these shows that look into past characters in between series or as prequels automatically lose tension just because you already know the direction in which their story is ending. But a Jedi Path storyline would make more sense. I did really like the interactions between Obi-Wan and Leia. It gave Obi-Wan more of a reason to seek out his Jedi abilities again, which culminates in him completing his self forgiveness arc.
A fantastic analysis. You managed to put my thoughts in words. You deserve a lot more subscribers. Today you gained a new one. Thanks a lot and may the Force be with you. PS. Leia was an annoying spoiled little brat here.
Eh to be honest I'm the only person here that did not find her pretty annoying or that bratty. And come on her personally she's got that somewhat Spunky attitude and that's what she should become in the original trilogy even if she leads the Rebellion. I think I've already regret this.
When I see a character at full power at the end of one film or show and then at their lowest point in the next one, it always reminds me of video games like God of War, where Kratos would always get de-powered at the start of a game just so you could build him up again 😁
I agree the main problem is Reva Vader duels because it can’t really be canon because it ruins their duel in the original trilogy I like this obi wan because it makes sense he has ptsd and called himself off from the force and the two suns growing down on him they really should have made Reva the main villain not Vader and I like the bold liya to caring
Great video. The show had many problems, but Obi-Wan and Vader weren't part of the problem. I always wanted a story set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope with Ewan McGregor, exploring Obi-Wan's struggle to live with the fact that the Jedi Order is no more, that his apprentice Anakin Skywalker is gone, see him crippled with nightmares, suffering from PTSD, and finding his way back. Not only we got that, but the icing on the cake was that Vader played by Hayden Christensen was a part of it and we got a satisfying conclusion for these two characters. The show overall was pretty mid, but the final showdown between Obi-Wan and Vader is my favorite moment in the entire franchise.
actually, vader and obi were the problem... at least in them actually meeting and fighting before a new hope which directly contradict's canon/lore (and yes it does, lucas himself stated in interviews for the prequels that revenge of the sith was the last time they met till a new hope)
@ninvusoogoar6098 The show wouldn't work without them clashing at some point. Also, it makes sense imo because Vader was fighting cautiously in Episode 4, but in reality, he should be hot-headed going into that fight. After their duel in Kenobi, Vader probably realized that his brash nature caused his loss, so he took a more calculated and reserved approach to "defeat" Obi-Wan.
@@shade.cinemait doesnt make sense at all dude... it breaks the lore/canon full stop. the show doesnt work with him, all they had to do was adapt the kenobi novel that takes place during this time. a nice simple character study where he needs to come to terms with order 66 and the empire while also watching over luke while trying to defend him and others without letting anyone know you have the force in any way. also let us be real here. kenobi would of killed vader after beating him which is also LORE BREAKING!!!!!!! in canon during this time, this is vader at his peak... he would of completely slaughtered kenobi in this stage of his life. it is a lose, lose situation bro. either vader wins and he kills kenobi, or kenobi wins and he has to kill vader.... lets put aside the fact them fighting in this is bad and breaks established canon (canon fucking matters man) kenobi was perfectly fine leaving anakin to die, burn, and melt to death because of order 66... cut to a decade later and anakin has survived and has done far more harm to the galaxy than he did during order 66.... you are kenobi and you finally beat vader, then you realize (or think you realize) that he is too far gone, you cannot leave him alive. you know he will cause untold amount of suffering and the emperor during this time needs to rely on vader to take care of critical missions and such. vader will kill countless more if you let him live... this is why disney star wars frustrates me, and why many casual star wars fans upset me. they both do not even know or care about the canon and just do bad fanfiction shit like this. everything you said in this comment, is just wrong on so many levels....
@@shade.cinema not to mention kenobi is not that strong in the force to lift dozens and dozens of boulders and shoot them at vader like a Gatling gun... kenobi's strength was not in saber combat, nor was it in force power, but from his calm collected peace, his wit and clever mind. disney star wars is made by people who actively hate star wars for non star wars fans who casually have the shows on in the back ground while doing other things like the laundry. only to look up and pay attention when they hear combat noises, then quickly go back to doing other things. so long as the graphics are decent, the music is nostalgic and decent and it looks like star wars. then they will think it is good because it was on a surface level entertaining to them. but if you actually pay attention and you cannot turn your brain off, like playing diablo 4 the longer you watch disney star wars the more you learn to dislike it. it is okay if people enjoy this trash. i unironically LOVE the syfy channel "original" monster movies like frankenfish, or sharktopus. but you will NEVER catch me trying to say they are good movies, they are trash. but i still enjoy them despite it being bad. if you enjoy kenobi flaws and all, cool. but but do not confuse your personal enjoyment and factual canon/lore in the established universe.
I love the arc, the circumstances to get Obi-Wan through the beats could've been far better written. The series is more disappointing, if anything, largely from plot contrivances or points that I'd argue are unrelated to Obi-wan.
@AlphaAurora I haven't read the book. Tbh I don't really follow the Legends timeline, although there are really cool stuff like Darth Bane, the Vong and Jacen Solo.
Cool video, I enjoyed watching, but the feedback static sound was way too loud and jump scared me. I also really liked the bits where you were a bit deadpan, "Ben doesn't give a shit" etc.
Thank you for the feedback! Just for future reference, what do you mean by feedback sound? Do you mean when the video transitions from one segment to the other?
This is how the sequels failed Luke. Episode 7 should have shown Luke's failures and ultimate fall to the disillusioned hermit he became rather than make it some kind of shocking reveal. The last we saw Luke, he had risked his life to redeem his father. How could this be the same man that considered striking down his nephew? Those events occurring offscreen were a huge failure on the part of the directors. But they chose fan service over story telling with TFA.
I think him trusting Ben to not turn to the dark, and then Ben turning anyway would make more sense. Because at that point, the mindset he had for many years cost him his Jedi Order. It honestly sucks seeing Force users exist after episode 6 because my second or third thought is "I can't wait to see that guy get killed by Kylo"
Ewan did the best he could with a terrible story and directors and writers who know nothing about star wars. They killed the character of obi wan and made a mockery of the OT
I think that the story and the writing in general could have been way better. This video is mainly about Obi-Wan's arc from the show, which I think is fantastic
Great show, i was waiting for it to be bad but didnt see it, there's tiny parts but easily overlooked as its so small, most people don't get it because they have never experienced such feelings. Yoda is the real coward of star wars, ahsoka, fives and obi one are the best.
Qui-Gon was definitely powerful, but Obi-Wan is a different person altogether. He's not as attuned to the Force as Qui-Gon, but he is relentless in his training, which is what brings him over the top.
People crap on this series. Hell, they crap on Andor and even Rogue One. Methinks they’re all a fleshing out of the original universe created back in the 1970’s and I appreciate them all. (except for the sequel trilogy, those sucked. Kathleen Kennedy needs to keep her mits off this, it’s too big for her)
Put some thought into an actually comprehensive storyline for the sequel series and eliminate jar jar? You gotta better Star Wars. Either way, you got Star Wars and it’s good stuff. Personally, I’m watching this instead of Real Housewives, ya know. Hahaha.
The best part of the Kenobi series was Ewan and Hayden. Unfortunately they spent way TOO MUCH time on Leia and mostly REVA, who totally DESTROYED the series. I wish they'd give us a season 2 and omit Reva and just focus on Obi-Wan and Darth. Your analysis is exceptional and completely in tune with the fact that Darth was imprisoned by his fate and so was Obi-Wan's, they both suffered.
Thank you so much! I know that show is really flawed, but I really liked Obi-Wan's arc and I thought about making a video on it because no one talked about his journey. Thank you for watching 💪💪
Obi-Wan may have been perfect but the overall plot sucked They made the Imperials complete morons Case and point, the scene where Obi-Wan sneaks into the Fortress Inquisitorium trough an underwater access The exact same way Kal Kestis did in Fallen Jedi Order, which takes place roughly FIVE YEARS PRIOR So here you have the Empire, a terrifying force to be reckoned with and the terror the Rebels want to get rid of. Some Jedi sneaks into the Inquisitor HQ, manages to defeat an Inquisitor and then comes face to face/helmet with THE Darth Vader. By miracle the Jedi manages to escape by cracking the reinforced glass, which holds billions of liters of water outside, with the Force. Now the reaction of Vader and Palpatine would be to heavily monitor such entrances and make the glass even tougher, right? Wrong. Instead they completely ignore this, remove the Star Destroyer previously orbiting the planet and make the glass now breakable by a few blaster shots. With things like this it's a miracle the Empire lasted that long
@@shade.cinema Which is fine The show is called Obi-Wan so I expect Obi-Wan to be the center star and have 80% screentime But... An escort quest with little girl Leia, a few flash backs and a duel with Darth Vader isn't gonna fill an entire show And to make Obi-Wan rise by dropping everything else is certainly not a good idea
@shadecinemapodcast what story arc? He started looking after Luke and it ended with him looking after like…. After almost getting him fucking killed. The only story arc was him being a complete fuckup and retarded (even more then the empire) hiding leia under his armpit like he was trying to get a free movie ticket or the fact he couldn’t walk around a gate in the middle of nowhere. The only thing of significance to happen in this show is leia got a holster or belt or some shit. Not one thing in this show makes an ounce of difference all it does is shit on beloved characters that actual writers wrote, you know the Disney way.
you mention a 10 year retiremant but why the hell use mike tyson instead of george foreman? lol foreman littterally retired for 10 years! and came back to win the championship at aged 45!
I don't really watch boxing tbh so I used Tyson because I know he went to prison and came back as a monster. Had I known about Foreman's retirement and return, I probably would have used footage of him
@@shade.cinema This show multiplies itself by zero. The only story / moment worth telling was Obi-Wan meeting Qui-Gon. Except this moment, there is nothing in this show that is of any importance, or affects any of the characters, or the entirety of Star Wars in any way. And that's including that duel which had the same exact outcome as the last one. And including Obi-Wan finding out Vader is alive after what ten years? This show is literally just nothing
@vincentbarbes7672 you didn't answer the question I initially asked. Did you watch the video? I'm not here to defend the merits of the show. I'm just explaining why I like Obi-Wan's arc.
@@shade.cinema Your analysis serves to justify a weak plot. Obi-Wan had a better arc in literally every other Star Wars film or show that he has ever appeared in. Better arc than in his own show smh
It wasn't a bad show and I enjoyed watching it. But I think they dropped the ball with the obi wan character. At the beginning he's a broken man, but this is wrong Obi wan is supposed to be the perfect student of the force he wouldn't be sad or broken. He would be focused on his mission and he had trained himself to let go of the past. Even after all that he went through. Also he would have not left Luke unprotected by leaving the planet, that was his mission and responsibility. He won't abandon his burden for anything not even Leia she wasn't who he swore to protect.(the Leia idea is probably the most reasonable plot idea for him leaving tbf) I understand he needed a story arc to make it interesting but the fact is, obi wan was supposed to be the grand example of what a Jedi should be even though he wasn't that powerful(always thought he was the weakest Jedi on the council while he was a member) if every Jedi had had his discipline it wouldn't have been destroyed.
@@shade.cinema true but still essentially a useless Jedi because he would have died heroically shocked to death by the emperor if Vader didn't go shit I better kill the Sith and bring balance to the force lol good video none the less
@seanowens1073 completely disagree. Luke was the reason that Vader turned back to the light. He , as a Jedi, managed to save his friends on numerous occasions, and remember, he blew up the first death star. So I don't think he's useless. He's the reason the Empire fell.
@@shade.cinema look was the reason Vader was redeemed but he still would have died in return of the Jedi if Vader didn't turn last second and the reason why Luke was useless Jedi if Vader was some random dude and he never turned you think Luke would be alive at the end of return of the Jedi?
@@seanowens1073The reason he would have died is because he discarded his weapon to show that he will never turn to the dark. Remember, he beat Vader in the duel beforehand, and only allowed himself to be electrocuted to force his father to make a choice. Luke was extremely powerful. So much so that Palpatine considered replacing Vader with Luke.
@@shade.cinema it's not debatable. Even George Lucas himself has said this. He's merely the catalyst for Anakin to turn back to the light. Even when he turns evil and becomes Vader, Anakin is the chosen one. George Lucas also said this.
The acting was 10/10. The writing was the worst i've ever seen. Reeva is basically the one punch man of starwars, and her entire character could be completely written out if they payed attention to their own story. And Kenobi leaves tatooine in EP 1 luke is some throw away moment. "Hello there" It is a catastrophe.
@shadecinemapodcast, not an opinion it dropped off almost a third of its viewers from the premiere episode to the finale which saw mandalorian start with half as many viewers in season 3 as season 2 ended and now Ashoka has pulled in half of those numbers. Literally TH-camrs get more views in a few hours then obi-wan did in the first 5 days of streaming because Disney failed so badly at star wars they turned the biggest MOVIE franchise of all time into a failing streaming show franchise. There’s nothing to defend about Disney Star Wars, Disney shitcanned the EU when they bought star wars and are now literally making every major book into shows but changing the lead from Luke who they hate to incompetent women who no one cares about ie Rey, reva or Ashoka and her team of diverse screwups… which are all female. Not only that they made the great female character leia an arrogant shit
@scott8448 I don't even disagree with this. I just think that Obi-Wan's arc was well written is all. The shows themselves don't do well because of Disney's bad reputation with fans for hit or miss content. Andor was, in my opinion, some of the best Star Wars ever written, while Mandalorian Season 3 was mid af. Ahsoka is pretty good so far but it's too soon to call it a success or a failure
he was meh, the script was TERRRIBAD. even WORSE, the actor shouldn't have called out fans for being racist, lol. how can u even judge an entire, or even portion of a huge... ok, large, fanbase? more like "Obi-wan" got a call from a CEO, and they just used him as their mouthpiece, with this ongoing divide & conquer strat, that worked at first, until even the dumbest mfs realized, OH... PLUS, THAT LORE DOES NOT CONNECT TO THIS MESS. Kenobi was another backdoor, use legacy character to prop up new diverse female character, ultimately putting one of the FINAL NAILS, in the coffin, that contains the mutilated corpse, of a once beloved IP. and I say all this, and IM NOT EVEN A FAN, lol. that died the day me and my girl, walked out the theater, after hearing Jar Jar speak. I do enjoy the clown show, however.
@shadecinemapodcast I agree with that (haven’t seen Ashoka nor do I want to at this point) Disney has bought Star Wars down that far all fans see when they think of Star Wars is apathy; we don’t give a shit anymore hence why the best Star Wars show since Fanboys (and I’ll fight anyone that says that isn’t star wars or star treks greatest film in decades) was completely ignored.
9:37 It's as George Lucas said in the Clone Wars writers' meeting in 2010:
"The core of the Force-I mean, you got the dark side, the light side, one is selfless, one is selfish [...] when you go to the dark side is it goes out of balance and you get really selfish and you forget about everybody … because when you get selfish you get stuff, or you want stuff, and when you want stuff and you get stuff then you are afraid somebody is going to take it away from you. So that is ultimately the core of the whole dark side/light side of the Force. And everything flows from that. Obviously the Sith are always unhappy because they never get enough of anything they want. Mostly, their selfishness centers around power and control. I disagree about the show being great, but it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it!💪
Great channel, man! Hope you keep at it
Thank you bro I appreciate that 🙏
Obi Wan Kenobi's journey in this series mirrors Darth Maul's story in CW and Rebels.

@@shade.cinema oh I’ve seen Andor, adored it!
I think Vader wanted to convince himself most of all that Anakin was killed by him, not necessarily to prove it to Obi-Wan

"That use of the Force was so unrealistic" perfectly shows the problem with the Star Wars fandom nowadays
Interesting take 🤔 Can you elaborate?
It stifles creativity to hold yourself to "well some fans say you can't use the force like this so I guess we can't do something new or interesting that we haven't seen before" if the failure is on the story or the writing then that's one thing but if it's "that doesn't fit my list of force abilities that I made up" then no writer should be held to that
@@realdashrendarI agree, but at the same time, I think that innovative and new ideas in regard to the Force can work, as long as it doesn't break continuity of the series (Force Heal being a prime example of this)
I agree with your topic of the video. I just with the show didn't break lore and become the leia show. They could have done it without breaking lore.
Thank you! And I agree 👍
The Obi-Wan series is about overcoming trauma.
(Not that i thought the actress did a bad job, but that was the one character who was in actual danger that we might have cared about.)
What I think they should've done instead is to focus on Obi-Wan helping people go on the Path.
Is it still 9 to 5 on a planet with 2 suns?
Damn... I didn't even think of that 🧠🤯. I guess the suns rise and set around the same time. They look like they're close enough to each other
A fantastic analysis. You managed to put my thoughts in words.
You deserve a lot more subscribers. Today you gained a new one.
Thanks a lot and may the Force be with you.
PS. Leia was an annoying spoiled little brat here.
Thank you man, I really appreciate that 🙏. May the Force be with you as well.
P.S. Of course, she's a spoiled brat. She's a princess 😂😂😂
It's like the story of Kratos between God of War 3 and 4
@@shade.cinema Yeah, GOW was notorious for that, so naturally was the first example that came to mind 😂

I get really tired of these redemption arcs in Star Wars. When are we gonna see a no-nonsense villain who will just be vanquished by the good guys?
Good video
Thank you!!
Thank you! I fully concur 🔥🔥
actually, vader and obi were the problem... at least in them actually meeting and fighting before a new hope which directly contradict's canon/lore (and yes it does, lucas himself stated in interviews for the prequels that revenge of the sith was the last time they met till a new hope)
That's exactly what I think. It seems as though the story took a back seat to Obi-Wan's arc.
@@shade.cinema did you like the old EU Kenobi novel? Goes through something similar, but keeps Obi wan on Tatooine on a short side novel

@@shade.cinema I think so the transition sound effects r a tad bit jarring
@blackmagyk Alright, I'll work on that. Thank you for the feedback, brother!💪💪
@@shade.cinema I agree 100%. It sucks knowing that Kylo is either going to kill them or turn them dark.
Ewan did the best he could with a terrible story and directors and writers who know nothing about star wars. They killed the character of obi wan and made a mockery of the OT
I think that the story and the writing in general could have been way better. This video is mainly about Obi-Wan's arc from the show, which I think is fantastic
Obi-Wan could jump over Dath Maul, just not a 4ft laser boomgate
Great show, i was waiting for it to be bad but didnt see it, there's tiny parts but easily overlooked as its so small, most people don't get it because they have never experienced such feelings. Yoda is the real coward of star wars, ahsoka, fives and obi one are the best.
Let's be real, Reva wasn't a compelling villain, and her redemption felt very forced. Besides that I liked the story
somewhat
We could expect Qui-Gon Jinn to be very powerful and he trained Obi Wan so that's saying something
Qui-Gon was definitely powerful, but Obi-Wan is a different person altogether. He's not as attuned to the Force as Qui-Gon, but he is relentless in his training, which is what brings him over the top.
What did you do?!
I got stabbed by Darth Vader twice and somehow survived...
They should have called the show Reva because Obi-Wan was shoved to the side and was made a side character when the story focused on Reva instead.
I disagree. Obi-Wan was clearly the main character of the show. Shows can focus on multiple characters and their arcs.
People crap on this series. Hell, they crap on Andor and even Rogue One. Methinks they’re all a fleshing out of the original universe created back in the 1970’s and I appreciate them all. They made the Imperials complete morons
Case and point, the scene where Obi-Wan sneaks into the Fortress Inquisitorium trough an underwater access
The exact same way Kal Kestis did in Fallen Jedi Order, which takes place roughly FIVE YEARS PRIOR
So here you have the Empire, a terrifying force to be reckoned with and the terror the Rebels want to get rid of.
With things like this it's a miracle the Empire lasted that long
It seems as though all of the energy in terms of writing went into Obi-Wan's character arc and nothing else 😂

He won't abandon his burden for anything not even Leia she wasn't who he swore to protect.(the Leia idea is probably the most reasonable plot idea for him leaving tbf)
I understand he needed a story arc to make it interesting but the fact is, obi wan was supposed to be the grand example of what a Jedi should be even though he wasn't that powerful(always thought he was the weakest Jedi on the council while he was a member) if every Jedi had had his discipline it wouldn't have been destroyed.

Obi-wan was absolutely terrible.
