Matt, ek weet jy is Engels, so as jy nie hierdie verstaan nie sal ek dit Engels probeer sê.
Hi Matt, I just love your videos, the background perspective and stories, beautiful photography and music you are giving Clay Croft of X-Overland a definate run for his money. I watch many of these, and have been to Kgalagadi, to Serengeti, mad about Baviaans, did your Kouga Mountian route to Kareedouw and many others. Keep it going do are doing a great Job it is so entertaining. Blessings to you and Nicole. Regards Robert Moffat
What a lovely ride thus far. What a pity that Huxley is not with you on this one. I assume that it is for the rabies danger or park regulations. Enjoy the rest of your trip and thank you for inviting us along for the drive. Much love from Vanrhynsdorp
Hi Matt, been following your trips for a while now and really enjoy them because it is similar to what my wife and I do. Especially your last video on the Kgalagadi. We actually live in the park and run a community owned lodge called !Xaus Lodge. Had we known you were up here we could have organised a get together. But hey maybe next time. It is such a special place. Regards Anthony
Awesome video as usual! You really manage to showcase the countryside so well! As a dutch guy I had a little giggle over de verneukpan. Someone was not happy when they named that place! Your food always looks delicious too and I’m going to have to get myself a braairek now! Looking forward to the next episode.
Ja boet. When I lived in Canada, we'd do a guys camp every year, and we'd have to pack everything away before bed or the bears and other critters would make a right mess of the site. So we just kept everything we had in ready to go coolers or cold bags. Trash and left overs were burnt on the fire, cans and plastic were kept in a bag high on a tree. Luckily we never had any major hassles. Juslaaikit, I miss those days.
That was a good video mate. Wife and I enjoyed it. After The work we did on the rewiring of our camper trailer, we are heading out into outback Western Australia soon for a shakedown trip. Love wild camping in the outback. 😉👍
Great video! Loved the way the interior of the Modcab came out! Those guys that did it for you should sell it! Quick question, coming from a setup that did not have air suspension and now one that has, do you have any negatives about it? I might consider it in the future, but I am always in 2 minds about it. Will it affect my wheel travel etc. (I have a Fortuner).
The only negative is that you lose some axle articulation. So your wheel travel will be reduced. I’m not sure that you would be able to carry enough weight on a fortuner to justify air bags to be honest! A normal suspension upgrade would make more sense.
@@mattdubber Yes, that is my concern as well in terms of loosing travel. The problem with my Fortuner is mostly when I tow (have a look at Fortuner, they all look up while towing), and this is with OME suspension. Will do a coil upgrade and see if that helps before looking at air helpers.
For what it's worth. I'm not certain what tyre pressure you operate at but my experience is that airing down low whilst still on hard gravel with sharp stones results in punctures often of the nasty sidewall variety. Once you hit the sand then lowering pressure substantially becomes mandatory especially as conditions get more difficult with inclines, softness and the like.
This is not Du-bai, but we’re blessed with something money can’t-buy!!! Thanks for that reminder Matt.
That place is one artificial hellhole that will most probably self implode in a couple of years in the future.😂
And I hope it NEVER becomes Dubai! You can develop and advance without skycrapers, fakery, and over-the-top things.
Camping under the African sky hits differently! 🌌 Between the campfires and the wild trails.
Thanks

I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks in the Kgalagadi TFP this year. It's a magic place. Great vid. Cheers from Australia!

Man did the jimney dirty😂 jimney driver probably gets further than a fully kitted hilux in that sand. Great video💪🏻
Nah all the Jimny jokes are just a bit of fun🤓 It was great having the Jimny there.

Lovvvveeee your videos !!!
Good to see the actual trip, met you guys briefly at the Engen in Graaff-Reinet that Saterday morning when it all started
Hi Matt, I usually take a spade and dig a small round hole (like a fire pit) for my fire on Verneukpan. Keeps the wind off the fire.
I think am gonna love this channel
Jackals at Rooiputs are next level! From that day I always take two pairs of plakkies
A fan from 🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼
Amazing content Matt!
once again. THANKS.
Would be interesting to see how well a Meshtastic system would work on this trip. Great footage.
Jimny Will go where all the big bakkies go and further
Jimny!!
@@qualityfun8304 spell check 🙈🙈🙈
As long as you carrying enough fuel 😅
@@tristanhall5971 it only takes 1 jerry can and you sorted.
Beautiful video and episode, Matt! ❤Just out of interest, how much does your vehicle weigh now after the modifications?
This is my trip is my dream

i spy a suzuki jimny in there how did that cope with the drive?
Really well! Just didn’t have much capacity to carry fuel and luggage. Probably better suited to shorter trips but very capable nonetheless.
Hi Matt. Love the memories, we also did this route. I want to ask you with regards to the camper. Does it seal tight enough to keep the dust out?
Yes, extremely well sealed. You’ll see in later elisodes when we go through the fine riverbed dust, none gets in.
Please give us the pin GPS way point where you camped on Verneukpan
Ha ha, you said, "fork-off"
That jacket at Rooiputs is known as “Nigel” :)

The pressures on gravel are not that low, not low enough for the sidewall to be exposed.
What solar panel do you have on your roof?
Matt who did you book the Botswana parks though?
Thanks bud
Botswana Footprints as well as DWNP.
Ahhh yesss! The madlad is back. Lekker!.❤🇿🇦👍🏿
Thanks
