Also having Aspergers and being ADHD, dyslexia and being partially blind growing up in an abusive household but also being blessed with a wonderful imagination, I identify with him. My son is dyslexic, bu teacher realised that he was not just a naughty child and spoke to me. Her husband was a psychologist whose main interest was problem teenagers. My son was only eight, but she saw a very bright little boy behind the face he showed the world and recommended a wonderful woman who did only occupational therapy with these children. There was no remedial work at all . She maintained that if she could get them before the age of eight, the brain could be retrained. It worked and the difference was amazing. The truth is that most dyslexic children have above average IQs and most are boys. I am so proud of him and his achievements. He is in his 50s now and has made such a success of his life. And it is all thanks to a teacher who took the time and a brilliant and lovely therapist.

There's something to be said for a childhood that includes early learning and exposure to new places and new people every year. I was an Army brat during WWII; we followed my Dad from Texas border posts to Kansas to California and back to West Texas, wherever he was posted, was reading by age 4, went to first grade at age five, a different school every year, always the youngest in the class even in college. To this day, I read rather than watch TV - though some TH-cam channels have captured me, obviously. His kind of innovation was not mine. I was an artist and graphic designer, but I understand what he means by ideas exploding in his head.

Bullying is quite common in schools around southern Africa especially Botswana and South Africa and I was a victim first hand back in my primary school days in Botswana. Those kids bullied me so much that it damaged me psychologically and as a result I became short tempered, passive aggressive towards people and rage started building up in me as I grew older. My parents always wondered why I changed into that person but it was my defense mechanism to avoid getting hurt. Thanks to the Lords mercy I no longer have this rage in me but i still get passive aggressive once in a while but I still have faith that the lord will remove it.

The funny irony about this is that children don’t need transformations! It’s adults that do! The moment a child realizes their uniqueness, a bit of loneliness settles in. Sometimes other children come in to give comfort and support but it’s done psychically, telepathically. Other times, hardships come in to polish a soul. They’re not alone though although the experience could feel very new because they are in fact little beings not in earth for very long learning the ropes. School is a very interesting place where self awareness arises at different points uniquely for each child. It’s fascinating really.

Why? It's only unbearable when a person with such a mind is forced to interact with those whose thoughts are... lacking. To never run out of things to want to learn, explore, or create is wonderful. Boredom only happens when there is constraints on the ability to pursue such. Oh, and small talk... or seemingly endless jabber of someone droning on about unimportant details.
