    Really appreciate this guide. I've had Hondas all my life, from a Fit, to a K20 Civic Si, AP2 S2000, etc.. but the NSX has always been my dream car since the 90s, and now that I can finally afford one, they have doubled in price lol. Regardless, I will have one eventually, sooner or later. Can't wait..

    The other thing I would mention is that there are two companies that have a variety of replacement parts. MITA motorsports, and science of speed. Also nothing on this car is cheap. My center console had some wrinkled areas in the corners and I just thought I would buy a new center consul plastic, but it was $600. It is a Honda in reliability but the price to replace anything it’s not like other Hondas.

    Corrective maintenance which is cheap is to replace all the 30 years old small fuses. This actually fixed my SRS and intermittent wiper on the nsx.

      That’s a great idea! Need to look into that myself. Appreciate it.

    Informative video for those in the market. It’s good to learn what may impact the purchase of a NSX before not after you own it.

    Thanks for the tips. I remember watching videos that also mentioned the snap ring, harmonic balancer I'm the crank pulley and the butterfly screws as things that could lead to something catastrophic if not addressed. The NSX feels like it's got a great community with useful information and just generally looking out for one another 😊

      The NSX community is a good one. The car is awesome. Great combo.

    Informative video!
    I'm just waiting to trade in my low mileage 1996 Honda Prelude VTEC for a last production year first generation NSX. It will be a dream come true!

    I’ve been looking forward getting one but I fear about like what if it’s hard to find around.

    Missed the biggest ticket item which is probably the window regulators. Also the drive for the antenna...which is probably what happened to yours ;)

    I really appreciate these buyers guide videos you produce. I'm currently looking into a 91 NSX that's spent most of it's life in Colorado. Is there any legitimate reasons that I should I be concerned about undercarriage rust issues. Also appears to have had a total body respray. Is this a red flag that should not be ignored?

    • @DriversTherapy
      @DriversTherapy  ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn’t hurt to get clear photos of the undercarriage or if you can in person, inspect it on a lift. Corrosion and rust is still a concern with the NSX because there are many types of metals used that can be affected. A CarFax or a proper inspection will tell you if the car was in an accident. It would raise a red flag if the was repainted without a good reason.

    I would also mention the window regulator issue. The end of the cable can break the plastic housing on the regulator which causes the window to fall down into the door. Not something that you want to happen on a rainy day (if you ever drive it in the rain). I think Science of Speed or Dali makes a “fix” that they call the “window regulator thingy”, or something like that. Curious what year your NSX is. I have a 91 red with same ivory interior that I have had for about 24 years. I also like your antenna. I have a stock antenna that doesn’t fully retract. Is it hard to replace?

    • @DriversTherapy
      @DriversTherapy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thank you for sharing some additional information. My NSX is a 1991. The antenna is from a S2000 and is easy to install.
