What Have I Been Up To? | Life Beyond Schizoaffective Disorder

- In this video I give an update on my mental health but also talk about my experience at Katsucon earlier this year and my life as an 18th century historical revolutionary war reenactor. While I don’t plan on doing these very often, do let me know if you like it, so I can be sure to do another one at some point in the future.
Schizoaffective disorder-I have schizoaffective bipolar type-is a complex condition that includes symptoms of schizophrenia-such as delusions and hallucinations-but also symptoms of a mood disorder-either major depression, or in my case, bipolar.
But life is more than mental illness, I need to be sure to say that. So this is my life, beyond my schizoaffective disorder.
Enjoy! :)

Hey! Good news! I just got a job as a veterinary assistant. I feel better too and useful. I hope I will stay employed for at least another five years. ( I have SZA bipolar type)
Congrats 🎉 I work at the SPCA as a volunteer (schizophrenic) trying to get a paid position there or anywhere! Well done to you !
Possible for you to do this wonderful job of yours well... Forever? Well nevertheless. Thanks!
👍
OMG CONGRATS GOOD LUCK!
Great video. Thank you for showing all of us that we’re okay and that we do have a life despite our struggles.
Thank you so much!!!! I think it’s important to show that people are more than the illness. That there is a wonderful life to be lived outside the h*** that the brain creates. Glad you liked the vid and thanks again!!!
It took me a while to decide whether I should say this or not, so here we go. I too struggle with body image issues. I am very skinny and missing my top row of teeth (I had them cut out at a very young age, and no it wasn't due to drugs). But we never really see ourselves the way others see us. I think you're really pretty personally (not am advance, just a male's perspective) I have strughled with mental health since childhood, and alot of it is because my body image issues extend outside of myself. People constantly call me a meth head, spread rumors about me etc. All because of the way I look and behave (it os obvious I have issues.) I said all that to say, and I know it is easier said than done, just don't be to hard on yourself. Love your channel , it has been tremendously helpful for me in navigating my own psychosis. You'll probably make some dude really happy one day. Best wishes.
Thank you for this. Truly. 🐝
@@SchizoKitzo keep your head up. I am glad you are doing well.
Similar situation her
@@CherylCherbear im to shy, trying to change that. Just scarednof being creepy when I want to tell a woman I think she looks pretty...cause that's how I usually get treated...
Ya ive been on disabled most of my life and actually working full time for part of it. I plan to go back to work full time when i get back to the tri cities from spokane where i am now. I cant wait until im married, fully supporting me and my wife with full time work, and being happy and going to church.
Thanks so much for sharing this life update! It was awesome to hear about all the great things you've had going on lately. Katsucon looked like such a blast - your cosplays slayed and the bee merch you found was really cute! (Whatever artist designed that bee bag so that the bee sits on your shoulder is a genius!) The reenactment looked really fun too and I'm glad that's been bringing you joy. And yay for that podcast episode - it was great and I hope lots of people listen to it. I especially enjoyed hearing about all the things you've been doing to de-stress (because yes, I agree, de-stressing is so important). I'd be curious to see how acupressure feels and whether it might help in addition to my current stress relievers of swimming and music. Thank you again for giving us this glimpse into your life, and I hope things continue to go well for your mental health! :)
Aww thanks for such a kind comment! Katsu was SUCH A BLAST and I hope I get to go again next year or the year after. That bee bag is now my lunch bag and it brings me immense amounts of joy whenever I do use it!!! I wish I remembered the artist but I lost the tag :( And I’m glad you enjoyed the podcast and I hope others do too, it was fun! Stay awesome, GC!
It was a good presentation of what you do when you are not in TH-cam! Thank you, you have a beautiful smile by the way.
I loved your video and I’m glad you’re doing ok and sleeping better!
I absolutely love these videos. It's a good reminder that I am not alone and even better not doomed. Thank you for real Kit! Keep buzzin' around!

My biggest is dealing with the simulation
You’re awesome. Your videos are helpful to me.
Thanks! ^_^
So great to see you at Guilford reenactment this year. Great to hear you are doing better with the sleep schedule. I may have to try the acupressure mat as my sleep schedule is off too. ❤ Julie
This is interesting because I know about Guilford college but I think you mean something else. 😃
Thanks for commenting Julie! See ya soon!
I think it's great and fun to keep us up to date on what you've been up to. :)
Awesome! I totally plan on doing it again one day
I find these videos very helpful. I have had schizoaffective for about 15years now so this is a big thing for me
Glad to help!
Thanks for sharing the names of some of the videogames

more videos like this please.
I recently had a conversation with one of my voices about whether my voices are real or not. We were able to conclude only that I definitely hear voices. But anyway, love the life update video and wish you all the best.
Omg this is a relatable comment. Been there! And glad you liked the video!
I really like this style of video! The podcast was great and the bee tote is so cute. I'm on a drive to be more relaxed too. I use a weighted blanket and aroma diffuser, and I just got Rune Factory 5 to de-stress with as well. :)
thanks for the feedback and I hope your own relaxation goals get achieved!
@@SchizoKitzo Thank you!
You are wonderful
Thanks!
I want to try one of those accupressure mats. Btw, you are so pretty!!!
They’re so helpful, and thank you!!!! ^_^
That's such a nice video, I'm glad you're doing well. I loved the re-enactment and convention events. By the way, is the coffee from 18th century just roasted ground coffee added to a pot? If so it's something we make here in Bosnia, and it's really strong, which is to my liking (we have espresso and all that modern stuff too, but old traditional way is ground coffee into the boiling pot). Cheers :)
The coffee we make is! It’s finely ground (we use espresso ground) and yup we just put it in little cloth bag in the pot. Super cool that you do it too! It’s good stuff and I crave it when I’m not at events. Is there a name for it in Bosnia? Or is it just coffee?
@@SchizoKitzo No particular name, just coffee. Usually when you go to somebody's place and they offer you coffee it's the traditional one. And actually, there's a method to making it, goes something like this, if you're interested. You get a bag of ground roasted coffee, or even better, whole roasted beans which you then grind in a manual (traditional way) or modern electric grinder. Then you put several teaspoons of that ground coffee in a pot, you pour about 3/4 of almost near boiling water, and keep the pot on fire until coffee and water combine and start to raise to the top. Then you take the mug off fire and let the top layer of coffee subside and you pour the rest 1/4 of water over it, trying to get as much of that ground top layer to drop below so it can be absorbed into water even more (sorry I'm probably butchering english here ;) Then you mix the remaining top layer with spoon so even more remains fall to the bottom, and what remains is a nice smooth cream like substance. Pour that in small cups and preferably use sugar because it can be really strong. That's coffee (kafa, kahva, kava) here :)
Hey Kit! I have the same diagnosis as you and I had no luck with mood stabilizers and have highs sometimes but I only go up a little bit fortunately. I can't ever use intoxicants because I'm lost as it is.
I destress by playing video games too... ilike role/playing games. Reminds me of you get experience in the game like you get experience in real life. Then you move forward in rial life like you do in the game.
❤
Your cosplays are awesome 😮😮
Thank you! They are my pride and joy
I am glad that apparently your depression meds seem to be working better. 🎉
They are doing great!
Hii, i hope u r well (: Did u use Adderral to help ehen u went back to school? Please let me know, i'm on antidepressants but my mind is still not clear, i still have adhd and find it so hard to focus. I couldn't finish University because of my illnesses. But i really want to study.
No I don’t have ADHD
How was the combat medicine going?
How about playing camp follower during the Napoleonic wars. Some subtle differences back East. Thanks for a Great one! Did not see movie.
I had been considering one of those mats because you never really know if these things work
It’s seriously amazing
I think I’m being mentally abused and gaslight by a narcissist. That with all the other stress and things is making my head spin.
I guess " doom eternal" = out of the question 😂😂
Ur full of it. Ur out of ideas and not smart to make something new
Damn bro, chill. If you don't like the channel watch something else.
How old are you? Greetings from Venezuela, South America.
