I remember when Plato first came on the scene and was blitzing the field and of course Matt was a privateer only later to both be in the reimagined BTCC. I of course prefered the mid 90's era of BTCC the most with the skinny tyres and tucked wheels with an inch or two of travel, curb hopping at 120mph! And of course Duke Video, mail order VHS! I've converted my VHS tapes and have them all as digital files for safe keeping. I don't own a VHS player now which is a shame. Absolutely brilliant stuff! Thanks again Johnny, Jason, and Matt!

I'm geniunly astounished by the fact that this interview has so little views. This good quality insight of how it was back in those days, the banter between both key players,... this comes round maybe once in a decade.
I know Patreon etc. but I feel as though someone should be commissioning this, I'm grateful but feeling a bit guilty watching it if I'm honest. It's proper TV episode structure and not standard car/TH-cam really.

Someone at the BBC needs to see Johnny's content and realise Top Gear has had its day. This is literally 100% more interesting than any top gear episodes in the last few years.
As much as they hated each other, in recent years they have chilled out and have become "frenemies". Neal even said earlier this year it wasn't the same without having Plato in the series and that he missed him!
Jonny, how am I only finding this now..... you simply have to do more of these sit-downs with legends of motorsport. You let the boys talk without bamboozling them with questions racing toward an ad break..... makes for a natural conversational flow and then the funnies come out. What a cracking couple of vids. The Chris Harris chat was also brilliant... just feels like a couple blokes at the pub. Bravo mate. Yours is THE underrated online car channel.

Love this, it’s just three lads chatting about racing. I like the fact that the language isn’t sanitised but it isn’t offensive either . It flows naturally. Loving the stories as well,definitely not from the official record books. Really enjoying these shows.

Cracking video Jonny. BTCC is the best racing series for me. It’s down to Earth, tickets are affordable, the cars relatable the support races are great and, most importantly of all, it’s probably the closest racing out there. They don’t take prisoners. To stand close to the start/finish straight, just a feet from the cars flashing past and hearing the sheer noise, is about as close to actually being in the cars as you can get. Epic stuff.

This is really great i grew up a Plato fan hated Neal it so good to see them together after all the battles and bangs they had with each other, big respect to both and you for making it happen
This really is something quite special. Given the rivalry which has existed between these two legends, frequently bitter and confrontational, it's great to see the fundamental RESPECT that they both clearly have for each other. It reminds me of Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank- bitter rivals, openly 'disliked' each other, but they subsequently developed a huge amount of mutual respect for each other. after realising that they actually needed each other to bring out their very best performance. It's great to see that Plato and Matt get on so well now- two giants of motorsport!

This is brilliant! As a German living in Germany we don't get good access to BTCC live feeds. But as a motorsport fan there are some BTCC drivers I have followed for the past years. And the BTCC games were also epic! I'd also prefer BTCC over the "new" DTM cause it reminds me of the "old" DTM from the 80ies and 90ies. The cars are less complicated (on the outside at least). with not so much aero stuff and gimmicks. And what you get is good old bumper to bumper racing. As a hobby photographer my dream is to go to a BTCC race at Brands Hatch my favourite British race track. Even better would be having the track to oneself for photos, a legend BTCC driver and an iconic/ classic BTCC car. Keep up this great format. Best of luck and I hope to spend my vacation soon again in the UK.

Fantastic When you have nothing to prove,and you know your in demand for what you did/was apart off, as much as what your going to do. That is the sweet spot to get an interview, And to have both Jason and Matt was bloody fantastic Touching to hear Matt have regrets over his first marriage,and I always thought Jason took a gamble too much in lots of races (but I guess he did alright ,red mist aside). It was a privilege to hear all 3 of you talk,and I genuinely think since changing to the late brake show,this is as good as any car related content gets,be it on film,TV or TH-cam👍 Can't wait for part 2 when hopefully the knives (metaphorically speaking) come out.😲

This was brilliant. Such a good interview. I was at that race at Silverstone when Matt Neal rolled the Mazda. First race I'd ever been to, and when it happened everyone started running towards it to see what happened. I joined them - my dad went totally mental.

I am an Anglophile living in the States. I got my license in 1998 and bought a Ford SVT Contour in 2000. This is the American version of the Mondeo ST220, which was essentially a VERY mild version of a touring car. Every time I see the touring car races from the late 90's early 00's it really brings me back.
My favourite two drivers of BTCC, legends. Edit: It’s palpable how much respect is clearly held between these two... a MASSIVE rivalry which will never die, but as they’ve grown older they seem to have become almost like brothers. Touring cars would never have been the same without the impact of these two.

As a hobby photographer my dream is to go to a BTCC race at Brands Hatch my favourite British race track. Even better would be having the track to oneself for photos, a legend BTCC driver and an iconic/ classic BTCC car. Keep up this great format. Best of luck and I hope to spend my vacation soon again in the UK.

Touching to hear Matt have regrets over his first marriage,and I always thought Jason took a gamble too much in lots of races (but I guess he did alright ,red mist aside).
It was a privilege to hear all 3 of you talk,and I genuinely think since changing to the late brake show,this is as good as any car related content gets,be it on film,TV or TH-cam👍

This was brilliant. Such a good interview. I was at that race at Silverstone when Matt Neal rolled the Mazda. First race I'd ever been to, and when it happened everyone started running towards it to see what happened. I joined them - my dad went totally mental.

I am an Anglophile living in the States. I got my license in 1998 and bought a Ford SVT Contour in 2000. This is the American version of the Mondeo ST220, which was essentially a VERY mild version of a touring car. Every time I see the touring car races from the late 90's early 00's it really brings me back.
What a legends and what a place. I would not be able to concentrate around those cars, simply amazing!
My favourite two drivers of BTCC, legends.
Edit: It’s palpable how much respect is clearly held between these two... a MASSIVE rivalry which will never die, but as they’ve grown older they seem to have become almost like brothers. Touring cars would never have been the same without the impact of these two.
