I need to decorate my studio more!! Curious if you have any suggestions for the space! And let me know if you followed through on my little cleaning challenge 🥰
I just took it as a little painting break while watching, but I know the struggle because I am the messy type as well. But at the same time, I feel the difference of working in a tidy space. It's so much easier to concentrate on the art then!
10/10 recommend picture ledges! I have such a hard time getting the motivation to hang art up, but picture ledges allowed me to put one system up once, and it’s wayyyy easier to switch out art as I make/acquire it. Also can still look intentional without having to mat and frame everything. Another art teacher trick to hang up unframed paper art or posters without putting holes through them is to put metal thumbtacks in the wall and get small magnets to sandwich the artwork between. Good luck!
I LOVE PLANTS IN MY SPACE TOO. Grounds me so much yet fuels that magic i know i have within me when i draw. Idk what it is. Your plants look amazing and i also want a massive monstera
Hi! I recommend a flexible gallery wall system! I have one I made in my studio, and it's great to be able to quickly hang works in progress or pieces that inspire me. I also find that having unfinished works hanging where I can see them, my subconscious gives me new insights into each piece as I walk by. I built mine from clips and strings hanging from a curtain rod, but a peg wall system might be good for heavier works like panels and canvases. (This is also great storage for wet art, keeps it off of work surfaces)!😊
My partner is a mechanic and I am a full time artist. We have both said to each other for years that if our space (my studio and his auto shop) are cluttered and in disarray, we feel like our brains are in a disarray, too. We just both accept that when we work, we are tornadoes, and then we need to hit the reset button on our spaces after a project is completed or we get literally nothing accomplished.
I'm almost done with it!! my creator friend Sloan put me onto it, she has a super long video essay covering the entire series that I started watching, was like "oh fuck this show looks good" and pressed pause so I could watch the entire show before finishing her video essay lol
Hey Kelsey, great response to Morgue's video. Commenting here so your art vids get the engagement and not the drama. Also I'm trying to clean my desk right now :) Keep it up, enjoying this balance of art and business vids.
I absolutely cannot work in a cluttered or dirty space. I almost get a bit OCD about it (previously diagnosed lol) and I have to clean at least my workroom if not all the general living areas, and I have to take a shower first 😂 maybe it’s an energy thing, maybe it’s an ocd thing idk lol btw you always have helpful and relevant info and I really enjoy your channel
when I saw your pen/camera drawers I immediately thought drawer inserts could help tremendously (I made mine from old tissue boxes so not necessarily something to spend money on)
cool videos, i have to reorganize my office evry three months feels like, i only have a bedroom in an aprtment to work in, but i manage to do computer art and printing, mounting and cuttting vinyl and decals. thanks for the videos :)
For me it's the opposite. The physical spaces are neat but my digital spaces... oh boy! And I also have sooo many tabs/windows open all the time..... :D
For my studio walls, my favorite thing t do is to hang artwork that I made when I was in a peak state of creative flow. Even if the results aren't my tope faves, seeing them primes my brain to go back to that state :)

You know that blanket sponsor you had a while ago, should get one of them with your art on it for the couch.
I have one tucked away actually, I'll get it out!

Oh my god, I loveeeee The Mentalist!!! It was so fundamental to my teen years

So funny to see this come up because I just realized how much I was struggling to focus this week, and did a huge clean/revamp to my space.
I have ADHD and my mantra with keeping my space clean and clutter-free is "A cluttered space is a cluttered mind"
I love your giant toolbox! That's so smart.
Thank you!! The shallow drawers are perfect for art supplies

I too wish to own a jungle- now if only Briar would stop eating the plants while they are still wee weak babies.

thanks for the challenge--I finally got my basket of laundry folded ahaha

Yeii can’t wait for next video!
Hang your paintings everywhere! Great for video backgrounds, too 👍
I spy Patrick Jane!
Also what if your fans sent you prints and artwork to hang up? Or would that be too chaotic? Haha!
Yesss I’ve been loving the mentalist!!
@@KelseyRodriguez So good! I've watched it like three times.
Love your channel; can you drop a link to the plant pot system you were talking about?
yeah here’s an amazon affiliate link! amzn.to/3NsjCv3
where did you get the black drawers from? the ones you were putting paints back into?
Home Depot! it's a big Husky tool chest

Put more plants, or maybe more plants, o maybe art materials and your own art like real artist.
