I am a diehard Dead Space fan and have consumed every piece of Dead Space media I could over the years. You are the first "Didn't Know" video to actually tell me things I didn't know! Awesome!!!
I so badly want to see what the original vision of DS3 was. A survival horror with the DS formula in a frozen hellscape while unveiling the origins of the markers and the brother moons? Absolutely brilliant. The DS4 leaks also sound interesting and incredible.
EA doing what they do best, ruining game franchises for millions of people. DS1 and DS2 are awesome. After playing through them all again last year, DS3 was pretty lacking (which is a lot for me to say, cause when I was younger, it was one of my top 3 favorite games). Wouldn't actually mind them also remastering 2, redoing 3 all together, and finishing it out with a 4th installment. Just my humble opinion.
@@fliper975 I think my biggest issue with 3 is it's meant to be co op and your literally missing out on a ton of shit both story and loot wise playing it solo. There is so much that you miss. I think co op would make basically any game better and more enjoyable but not done like that tho.
Facts for anyone who's making a co-op game the co-op should be just with another controller not online because when it goes down you can never play the game Co-op again and it completely ruins the game
1:13:35 Just throwing my two cents in; It's easily possible for the sprawl to house 1mil people. The ishimura is a mining ship, and most of it's mass is dedicated to it's engines, mining facilities, hydroponics, medical facilities, landing decks for ships - with the crew decks taking up a tiny portion of it's space, maybe max. 10-15%. Then concider that the sprawl has pretty compact, stacked flats like the cassini towers, families can onsist of more than just two people, (babies count too) And the fact that the sprawl has two sides, the upper half and the lower half, and that most of the government sector and such is on the moon itself, it's very easy to put 1mil people in that massive station, since it's a city that's not just horizontally expanding like on a planet, but can expand in all directions along the moon
It would be cool (and this is assuming they remake dead space 2) and they remake dead space 3, but give us the intended version. Then maybe an actual conclusion with a dead space 4, but that’s just wishful thinking.
I'm actually not the biggest fan of the whole Shadow Isaac idea for Dead Space 3, mainly because I'd like to assume Isaac conquerored most of his Marker influence at the end of Dead Space 2.
If dead space 4 comes out ever my mind will be blown away I want to know what happened after the dlc.if they somehow bring the og team then only it is possible.
@@dyno017rhino Well, it could be a combination of both things, taking what, admittedly little, good ideas from the of and from the intended version. Boom, perfect idea.
It bums me out how overlooked 3 is. Sure, the development was rocky. At the time EA had taken its stance on singleplayer games, favoring multiplayer, thus forcing Visceral to incorporate a last minute and somewhat incohesive co op experience. It had a lackluster pay to win micro transaction system for weapon parts. The vast majority of the game is in fact, not in dead space, but on an alien moon. All of these factors lend to the idea that it was just a bad game, but it wasn’t. It is by far Gunnar Wright’s best portrayal as Isaac Clarke. The rivalry between Isaac and Norton is authentic and tense, the budding relationship between Isaac and Carver results in a very satisfying ending, and of course the finale (The Awakened DLC) REALLY brings the series back to its roots and closes the trilogy off on the most criminally underrated cliff hangers of gaming history. The lore that is explored and deepened in Dead Space 3 with Unitology, the markers, the brethren moons, and the Sovereign Colonies really makes it stand out to those who appreciate world building and immersion. I wont argue that it’s the scariest of the series, but if you love Dead Space for more than just existing as a survival horror game, the third game is a must play. The weapon crafting system and length of story easily makes it the most replayable of all games, and its expansive inventory of badass suits is the cherry on top.

I swear the flytrap necromorph appeared briefly in Dead Space 2. It was in the very beginning when Isaac is still running in that straight jacket. When Isaac runs into two security guards. Well freaking done. Side note: on my first trip through Dead Space via the Remake (I already knew the spoiler of the chapter titles), game is really fun and impressive. Fact #102! In the original game from time to time a necromorph will swipe his tail across the top of your screen as your camera turns. It's so quick that the human eye can just make it out as a moving shadow. I found it to be quite the horrifying feature considering how many times these lovely aliens pop up behind you, adds so much to the overall scare value for so little a detail!
Dead space 1 and 2 were amazing!! With the remake doing great I hope they are allowed to do 2 and if that does super well, maybe we will finally get a third game!
As for the population of the ishimura vs the sprawl its not about size. Ishimura was for work so the only people there were employees, the sprawl is basically a whole city meaning theres familes and people who just happen to be there at the time. So it makes sense that the sprawl is way more populated per square ft compared to the Ishimura. Think new york vs cargo ship
I hope they look back and see how big of a gold mine they burned to the ground themselves! The Remake is simply astounding! Also it's crazy to see how well both DeadSpace 1 and 2 hold up today.
I freaking love Dead Space and it is my favorite horror franchise of all time along with Alien. Look forward to seeing more videos from you and seeing ya in Twitch!
I never play horror games because I hate them. I went so blind into dead space remake that I didn't even know that it was one. Now half way through and it might be one of the best games i've ever played. Thank you.
Honestly, fact 100 is pretty troubling. I believe it's the same in the remake, and unlike the original, her office is actually labeled as her office... And on the theory about Isaac possibly killing survivors, as the remake reveals that the other two people that survived aboard the Kellion have the ability to watch the security feeds and don't call out Isaac for attacking humans, I can only guess Isaac isn't hallucinating. Granted, Daniels does reveal she's also hallucinating in a few sections of the game and is the one that's looking at the feeds the most, so who knows.
I never played any of the Dead Space games but when the remake came out, I was on board! I'm just getting to the point of no return yesterday (left the Ishimura) and some of the ambient sounds in the games, squishy noises, metal rattling, vent crawling had me on edge nearly the entire playthrough so far. So uh... I'm looking forward to the Dead Space 2 remake /wink 😎
I'm in the minority to mention the sequel was solid, but the horror tensions felt significantly reduced, just because EA wanted it to reach towards a mainstream audience.
I’ve been dying to find the dead space novels. I’m a little surprised they haven’t been converted into a digital version. Any sellers of the original paperbacks or hardcovers are selling them for over $100 and I just can’t justify that
You know, you could go the way with parrots, cone hats, and ships. Because if they aren't making it available, it's not like they're losing money. Either make it available or don't complain EA 😂
With the huge success of Motive's work for the remake we could honestly see them remaking the other dead space. heck we could 3 getting remade and this time maybe done right this time? Maybe shadow isaac could make a comeback.. someday
Here's my pitch for Best of Both Carver starts off as usual, but after they get separated when the cultists kill the first Extraction team, he's suddenly more cooperative and willing to go what Issac says. To a worrying degree. Bit by bit, until the end reveals that Carver has been dead since the cultists attempted to execute Issac. The thing is, Issac would be the *only* one to have gotten away. Carver has been killed, but Issac hallucinated him to cope with the trauma, and to suppress the new trauma of anyone he comes to know dying in a horrific way
Maybe Hideki Ishimura was deliberately kept alive, and influenced by the Marker, to discover the Shock Point Drive as a means of inevitability spreading/ expanding the network of Markers in the universe?
On number 73 you have to remember that the Ishimura is a Mining Ship, so the vast majority of its space is going to be dedicated to industrial applications and not residency, kind of like how a Cargo Ship is going to hold less people than a Cruise Liner. As a real world comparison, Manhatten Island in New York is around 13 miles long and has an estimated population of 1.6 million people. Now that obviously isn't in space but it shows that you can pack people into that space quite handily.
The clocks most likely all say 12 because either A. They still reset after blackouts in the future (because cheep will always win i guess) B. It represents the Doomsday clock, of which midnight represents the end of the world.
For video game inspirations I feel that the re clone Martian Gothic: Unification on psx was a huge inspiration. Undead enemies that will never stay dead, a bacterial infection that combines multiple bodies together, small monsters made from human flesh, an alien artificat that emits a signal that controls the bacteria(which looks abit like the marker) and makes people crazy/see visions/dreams/violent that activates after being excavated on Mars, one main character going to find his girlfriend, being on a crew sent out to find out why mars went silent. One world government etc.
AWESOME video, 2Spooky! Also, thanks for making a "101" facts video that doesn't simply have obvious facts like "Number 1: Dead Space is a horror game by EA! Number 2: The original was developed by Visercal Games! Number 3...." Like a certain OTHER 101 facts series on TH-cam....
1:03:50 I suspect the HUD for SCUBA divers that person was thinking of was actually a dive computer. Dive computers measure parameters and perform calculations to display useful information to the diver. However, most dive computers are worn on the wrist because it’s far more convenient to look at your wrist than it is to have your dive partner look at your back and relay the information to you via pantomime. They may have mentally combined dive computers with pressure gauges on gas cylinders…although these gauges aren’t typically seen on back mounted SCUBA cylinders because again, _pantomime._ Whatever the case, it was an absolutely brilliant idea and baked the UI into the world in a way that made sense and AND looked really cool.
rule of thumb in filmmaking (idk if it’s the same for game development). the budget you find on the internet doesn’t include marketing, but to find the average (not an exact number, but still fairly reliable), double the reported budget and that’s the total budget including marketing
As someone who never played the original my only exposure to dead space was the downfall animated movie and rn I’m playing the remake and loving the atmosphere I feel like I always have to look over my shoulder it boggles my mind to hear that they shift away from this in the later games. 🤦🏽♂️
Isn’t interesting that the necromorphs use the vents to get around and used that method of ambush to kill the crew of the ishimura, yet a majority of the vents are intact whilst issac is onboard?
it is honestly devastating to know that despite the series clearly being super successful amongst gamers and critics, EA just got needlessly greedy which was the reason DS3 became what it is

All games, comics, graphic novel, the two novels, the two briefcase guns, both blue rays, posters, lithographs, hardcover strat guides & more. Easily in my top three favorites game series. Destroyed when Visceral was ended & overjoyed when the new game came out.
I always thought the ishimura had a crew and auxiliary colony crew, making it much more populated on launch compared to the crew expected to stay on the ship full time

Ishimura was for work so the only people there were employees, the sprawl is basically a whole city meaning theres familes and people who just happen to be there at the time. So it makes sense that the sprawl is way more populated per square ft compared to the Ishimura. Think new york vs cargo ship
I look at the sprawl like hadlys hope from aliens
the people in the comments: "you should make a vid about (insert franchies of video he's already made )" HE ALREADY DID!!!
Haven't watched 2spooky in literally years cool to find him again
Man, me and my best friend just recently beat dead space 3 together and I have to say it’s one of my favorite games ever especially for CO-OP
You ALWAYS rock it bro. Stay awesome and great work on this Dead Space joint. Luv the lore
+2Spooky 101 Facts about Black Clover.
First time in this channel but this dead space video is amazing. I learned a lot. Thank you.
Glenn’s idea for dead space originally is basically what the Callisto protocol is
Just found your channel and I love it, keep up the awesome work because that was the best 101 fact list I have ever seen!
1:20:33 that Behelit OST is chef's kiss
I enjoyed Callisto. Since they released new game plus for it in a recent update, I am currently replaying it while I wait on the dead space remake.
101 facts about Mass Effect
Wow what a really in-depth video you kinda went off on this, plenty of actual good facts, interesting explanations of each fact, nice man good video
Bro just make 50 facts about Bob Ross! 😭
I hope they look back and see how big of a gold mine they burned to the ground themselves! The Remake is simply astounding! Also it's crazy to see how well both DeadSpace 1 and 2 hold up today.
regarding dead space skins in other games, theres one in Unfortunate Spacemen that's of the intermediate engineering RIG
Return of the spooky king
Love the video and keep up the great work 2spooky
Went back to do a playthrough of DS1, the sound design for 2008 was on another level. Arguably better than some triple A titles released today
I freaking love Dead Space and it is my favorite horror franchise of all time along with Alien. Look forward to seeing more videos from you and seeing ya in Twitch!
Dead space remake is very good I have played up to chapter 6 I’m still playing it now.
I never play horror games because I hate them. I went so blind into dead space remake that I didn't even know that it was one.
Now half way through and it might be one of the best games i've ever played. Thank you.
I've no lifed the remake since it released. I cant seem to stop thinking about it. The markers speaking to me!!
Dissection combat and no hud were mind blowing and the atmosphere, scariest game ever imo.
Dead space 2s multiplayer was goated. They even had dev events where you could play with the devs. It was awesome.
I never played any of the Dead Space games but when the remake came out, I was on board! I'm just getting to the point of no return yesterday (left the Ishimura) and some of the ambient sounds in the games, squishy noises, metal rattling, vent crawling had me on edge nearly the entire playthrough so far.
So uh... I'm looking forward to the Dead Space 2 remake /wink
😎
I'm in the minority to mention the sequel was solid, but the horror tensions felt significantly reduced, just because EA wanted it to reach towards a mainstream audience.
I’ve been dying to find the dead space novels. I’m a little surprised they haven’t been converted into a digital version. Any sellers of the original paperbacks or hardcovers are selling them for over $100 and I just can’t justify that
tell me about it they overprice all of it, ridiculous just a comic 😂
You know, you could go the way with parrots, cone hats, and ships. Because if they aren't making it available, it's not like they're losing money. Either make it available or don't complain EA 😂
Nothing like corporate greed to kill a good game
With the huge success of Motive's work for the remake we could honestly see them remaking the other dead space. heck we could 3 getting remade and this time maybe done right this time? Maybe shadow isaac could make a comeback.. someday
Here's my pitch for Best of Both
Carver starts off as usual, but after they get separated when the cultists kill the first Extraction team, he's suddenly more cooperative and willing to go what Issac says. To a worrying degree. Bit by bit, until the end reveals that Carver has been dead since the cultists attempted to execute Issac. The thing is, Issac would be the *only* one to have gotten away. Carver has been killed, but Issac hallucinated him to cope with the trauma, and to suppress the new trauma of anyone he comes to know dying in a horrific way
this is insanely high quality for a facts list video, good work
Absolutely amazing content!!! Thank you for an awesome hour and a half :)
Maybe Hideki Ishimura was deliberately kept alive, and influenced by the Marker, to discover the Shock Point Drive as a means of inevitability spreading/ expanding the network of Markers in the universe?
Should release slightly remastered every game ,movie ,and comic in one disc super worth the money
The clocks most likely all say 12 because either
A. They still reset after blackouts in the future (because cheep will always win i guess)
Also, thanks for making a "101" facts video that doesn't simply have obvious facts like
"Number 1: Dead Space is a horror game by EA!
Number 2: The original was developed by Visercal Games!
Number 3...."
Like a certain OTHER 101 facts series on TH-cam....
They may have mentally combined dive computers with pressure gauges on gas cylinders…although these gauges aren’t typically seen on back mounted SCUBA cylinders because again, _pantomime._
Whatever the case, it was an absolutely brilliant idea and baked the UI into the world in a way that made sense and AND looked really cool.
rule of thumb in filmmaking (idk if it’s the same for game development). the budget you find on the internet doesn’t include marketing, but to find the average (not an exact number, but still fairly reliable), double the reported budget and that’s the total budget including marketing
Fantastic video, great job!
I remember playing Dead space 1 & 2 on release, didn't know there was so much side media made about it!
Thank you ❤
it is honestly devastating to know that despite the series clearly being super successful amongst gamers and critics, EA just got needlessly greedy which was the reason DS3 became what it is
i would LOVE to see a 101 The Forest facts, especially with sotf coming out soon
I hate horror games, but I enjoy learning about them. Your video went into great detail on a lot of stuff and it really helped make my day. Amazing job ^_^
I feel like i wish i didn't now know Fact 101.
Cheers for the video mate.
The mobile game was insanely good back in the day, it hasn't aged well, but I really liked it.
This man put so much effort into this single video, what an absolute mad lad. I loved every moment of this video, keep up the great work.
I will say I do prefer Dead Space 2 to 1, but I still love the first game. The remake was fantastic from what I have seen, and the third game............is the Spiderman 3 of the series
I’m one of those saps that sucked up anything Dead Space. All games, comics, graphic novel, the two novels, the two briefcase guns, both blue rays, posters, lithographs, hardcover strat guides & more. Easily in my top three favorites game series. Destroyed when Visceral was ended & overjoyed when the new game came out.
great video man loved it!!
I always thought the ishimura had a crew and auxiliary colony crew, making it much more populated on launch compared to the crew expected to stay on the ship full time
I honestly hope they remake the second game and they’re redo the third one. 🤞
Thanks for the video, as i am now sure that i have consumed every last piece of Dead Space relevant media there is
I really want to play the reboot, but I'm not buying a whole other console JUST to play it!! I'll save up but I won't be playing it any time soon.
If ever get an dead space live action movie I would absolutely watch it because dead space is my favorite game
I thought the folder they kept all the body horrors in was called the "Nightmare Folder".
Fantastic video with some awesome information. Very good way to pay respects to such an iconic series. However, everytime I heard you say “visrial” instead of “visceral” I got a slight urge to stab my ear drums with a pencil.
I remember watching you back when I first mad the noob saibot vid. So ya much love❤❤
I thoroughly loved Dead Space 3.
I have platinum'd all *three games, but go back to DS3 more than the others
*edit- all four games, as of yesterday
Dude, I fuckin love the dead space memes. Shit had me cracking up
