Enjoyed watching even though it was shop furniture I felt that you took much pride in your work and it showed in the beauty of your craftsmanship. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Just loved watching you work so carefully. A treat. Note exceptionally clean floor and work area. Mower and wheel barrow flush and square to your shop. Would never think to suggest any of your methods you are so good. I am 77yrs and messed with wood all my life. Houses, boats, cabinets, caravans, tables so I know when I see fine work. I regrettably am rough and rushed but currently have 2 vans on the go..keep losing and finding tools..opposite to you my apologies....
When you strip down pallets try using a pneumatic punch nailer to drive out the nails backwards. It knocks even the toughest nail out in one go and the nails are straight for reuse. BTW, I love your broomhandle mauser push stick.
Excellent Job! You do realize, of course, now you have to make videos that make the rest of your shop look that. beautiful. :~) I like your style of video: All work with no talk and making something beautiful out of scraps. My favorite woodworking TH-camr is Epic Upcycling which uses this format and for this (and your skills), you just received a new subscriber and hopefully many many more to come. Thanks!
Just found your channel. Awesome work. I’m remodeling my shop and was planning to build all my cabinets, considering pallets to keep the cost down. After watching you, I’m definitely doing it. I’ll have to buy the nail punch gun. Don’t have the patience to take all those nails out.😂 can’t wait to see what you build next.
That’s a great lookin piece. Love how it turned out. I enjoyed this build. Love that you made it out of a pallet. I saw other comments making reference to Epic Upcycling and agree with them. Great video. hope to see more. Just subscribed.
While watching this, I'm reminded of @EpicUpCycling, another channel I really enjoy. This was a great video of the process. I was kind of wondering about the planning, as you could have done the dados for the drawer dividers before gluing up the box. But then I thought, how often do I start a project without a full set of plans; just start "winging it". Then I just sat back and began to relax and enjoy the artful way you walked through the build. Awesome job!!! BTW, Love the Bible verse on your logo too.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yeah, planning and order of operations are a few things I should work on. I asked myself the very same question about the dados after I had the doves glued up! Lol. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it!
This is just beautiful. The lovely tiger stripes in the wood really give it a nice touch. I think another one with the same outer dimensions, with one drawer at the bottom, but bigger drawers to sit next to it on the bench would look really awesome. Maybe one with 2 doors and a shelf behind ? This would look just right in my study, all my art supplies organised.
Lovely job, and lovely to watch. I appreciate the less talky talk talk and the more do it channels. Thanks for sharing your work. There's a channel called Epic Upcycling that has a similar ethos that you might be interested in. Looking forward to your next project.
Beautiful piece. It was so cool to see you use a variety of power tools and hand tools, as best as I could tell just because you wanted to use it. You're an amazing craftsman, and you made an excellent video. Thanks for sharing this. I look forward to the next one!
Excellent work, the hot glue trick for filling cracks, that’s the first time I’ve seen that. I really hope this is the first of many videos to come, I really enjoy just seeing the build happen. This looks amazing.
Master piece😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Amazing work and knowledge. Inspite I'm a woman It would be a dream for me to be able to make such an incredible piece. BRAVO!! Greetings from Italy
Really, really appreciate your style. There are far too many woodworking youtube channels that lead people to believe they need thousands upon thousands of dollars of equipment in order to make beautiful things. The truth is, the most important skill in woodworking is problem solving. Answering the question, "How can I create something with the tools that I do have?" Anyway, I subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your fine work.
I really appreciate the comment! I agree completely. I mean if you have those tools, thats great, but definitely not necessary. Use what you have, be creative in how you get things done and sprinkle in a little patience. Thats really all there is to it. Dont get me wrong, there are days i wish all my tools rhymed with best fool but... Anyway, thanks for the sub! New video coming soon!
What a great job and beautiful piece of furniture! Thanks so much for the kind words! I don't think its too nice for a shop piece and I think one's shop should have pieces that represent one's work in some way. Appreciate your comment and sentiments.
@@SBWoodworks750 You made it look brilliant out of pallet wood that most people would have thrown out, really looking forward to more content if you have the time😁
That technique with the hot glue creates a wonderful spalted look. You have a new subscriber! I really enjoy upcycling videos - and silent long form variety. As for this piece of art, try a coin flip - maybe. Then again, a shop elf might move it indoors when you're not around.
Thanks so much for the comment. The hot glue is far less messy than epoxy and gives a similar appearance. I have found it best when the cracks are bigger than you would want to fill with glue and saw dust but smaller than an epoxy pour would warrant. Appreciate the kind words and sub!
Hi, great video and workmanship! What was that finish you were using from the mason jar? And that was a great way to apply wax using a brush. I'm going to try that as well.
Thanks so much! The finish is equal parts oil based poly, mineral spirits, and boiled linseed oil. If you dont want it to amber quite as much, you can replace the linseed oil with a good food grade mineral oil. You will just want to wait a little longer between coats when applying.
There are two things i really like about this vid. 1, Just simple hand tool woodworking without comment 2, A simple 'normal person' workshop which inspires people who just have ordinary tools. I do hope you get to keep all your fingers though.
Thank you! I appreciate the comments. Yes, you don't have to have tools that rhyme with best fool to create nice things. Also yes, I too hope to keep all my fingers. Probably should keep them further from that blade. 😒

At the cost of "good lumber" by the board foot vs your calories per board foot, you sir made out like a bandit!😊 Great video and an outstanding functional art piece you created. Kudos friend. Hey, thanks so much for the kind words! Yeah, with cracks smaller than an epoxy mess is worth and larger than you would want to fill with glue and sawdust, the black hot glue works nicely. Can be ordered right on Amazon. Just use an aluminum block to press it after application. Makes it a lot easier to scrape off before sanding. Again, thanks for the sub and the watch!
I assume you are referring to the finishing stage? It is just paste wax. I do a few coats of a house mix finish(equal parts oil based poly, mineral spirits and mineral oil) then use a coat of paste wax and buff out after it dries.
