I have imprinted on every foal that has been born on my farm. We always started with in the first 2 to 4 hours they are born. I would continue that until they were weaned and would continue if I kept them or sold them . God bless ❤

How long would you work on this when starting to teach this? Thank you for taking time to explaining what you are doing and how to do it.

As long as the horse is mentally engaged. And you see progress. Most of us don't have an unlimited amount of time. If I know my time is limited I will work until I see some progress and end once the horse has given to the pressure. You can always work on it the next time as long as you end in a good place.

Thank you so much for sharing this, it is enlightening. I absolutely adore Pearl and can't wait to see her on the other end of her training. I used to own a horse and miss everything that goes with the experience. Unfortunately my Dr. forgot to mention I have osteoporosis and I fractured a vertebrae when riding a rental horse. Now I get my horse fix watching wonderful videos like yours and Route 66. Be well

My am glad you explained the real reason why horses like their lips. And the reasoning behind of every training method you do. You should make a book from start to finish with pictures explaining every step taking reactions of Pearl. I would by a copy. Thank you. God Bless.

This isn't something you see every day! We used to have some neighbors that trained horses and it was really cool to watch. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful horse you have there and you all are awesome! 😊💗👍

Nice explanations, Pearl will evolve quite nicely in to a well rounded horse with your expert guidance, and will make a lovely all rounder partner for some lucky person!

Moses, how do you know how much weight a horse can hold. For instance, a 250 lb man…too big for a pony? Is the weight of supplies you transport any different than human weight on the back? I was thinking about Prince Jack, could an adult ride on his back? I noticed you had him pulling you and Alan on a cart, which I assume is different because it’s pulling weight with a cart with wheels. This is a lot of questions, maybe you’d rather explain in a video. Thanks, I really admire the knowledge and experience you have accumulated. Peace & Blessings to your family and animals.

Human weight and dead weight is totally different. How much they can carry all depends on their maturity and how long they are going to be carrying it. Also how high impact the ride will be. If they have too fine of a bone structure then they won't be able to carry as much weight for as long. I am a big guy but my daughters pony Cowboy can carry me just fine. I have doctored calves on him and he had no issues chasing and holding the calves I'd roped. An adult could ride Prince Jack for a short amount of time. A child could ride him longer. Once he gets more mature he can go longer. In the video Prince Jack was only pulling Allen and I for a short amount time on fairly level ground. He pulled Polly and I about 5 miles one day up some slight hills but we gave him his time and allowed him to work slowly. You have to know the animal and their limitations. I always work into everything slowly and pay close attention to the animal. I have owned some 14 hand horses that could ride you all day hold a bull and I have owned some 16 hand horses that couldn't stand to be rode more than 6 hours. It all depends on the animal and their physical condition. Hope this helps.
