I never watch hoof gp but I totally agree with Sonja. I like these and watch them often since they do such good work. Longer video at the end would be great to see the end result!!! Thanks guys
What I'm always the most surprised at, is how the horses will easily let you lift up their foot and hold it for long periods of time. Even in cases when the hooves have been neglected for a long time, they do this. It seems like they understand that now everything is going to get better.
No. The hoof is like your fingernail above the cuticle line. You don't feel anything when you're triming your nails & not all horses stand still. That's the result of training that starts at a foals age.
The point is: 1. Is the horse reacting to being handled? 2. Is the horse reacting because the clipping off of hoof pieces is causing a pain sensation? I'm hypothesizing that wild caught & untrained, poorly trained, &/ naturally hyper nervous horses are reacting to being handled. The poster is asking if the horse is experiencing physical pain sensation due to the clipping off of hoof pieces.
Who would have thunk that a horse pedicure would have been so darn fascinating, let alone see how calm those horses are while it’s done. They must know how great it’s gonna be for them; smart animals! 🐎
I really appreciate that you didn't spend 10,000 years explaining that you're gonna trim the hoove in the beginning, you just did the thing, I like it.
WOW! I love watching a student vs. a seasoned professional do this. Those that are seasoned make difficult things look easy and you come away feeling like it's no big deal, but when you watch someone who is just learning and the movements are not yet second nature, it gives you a richer understanding of just how difficult the skill is. Not to say that this guy is doing a bad job and making it look hard, not at all. Beautiful job. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful job. This horse has obviously had their feet done at some point in the past as the horse was very well behaved. I love watching how you guys shape and heat the shoe. It’s amazing. My horse is barefoot right now but a hot shoeing will always be a good fit.
I am surprised at some of the neglected horses and donkeys that they get in there. They really do a service. Horses are so intelligent… they look at their hooves… they know when the farrier is done… they have fancy feet.
Такое мастерство обработки копыт и изготовления подков вызывает огромное уважение👍👏 видно, что люди любят и свою работу и животных...Это очень тяжёлый труд💪
What an amazing transformation - congratulations on doing a wonderful job! The best part for me was listening to the sound of the nippers cutting through the hoof horn - it’s so relaxing and satisfying because I know the horse will be much more comfortable after the trim.
Amazing...Sat totally at peace with the whole process. The end definitely justified by the hard work put in....actually inspires me to want to follow this as a career...(my age...not possible) but I wish I had seen this kinda stuff when I was younger....would have had a purpose in life....
Ahh, straight to the business. No yapping about new house updates, or upcoming stuff on the channel. Hoof, there it is, now fixing it, done.❤️ My kind of video.
I don’t know why, but if find these videos very satisfying. I love seeing the horses get the care they need, but I must say it looks like backbreaking work!
This work trade should be highly respected and paid top dollar. Just back breaking muscle wrenching work. Just amazing to see the results of such hard work.💞💞
It’s amazing what you can do with a sharp nipper, rasp and a knife. Cup the sole, clean up the frog, rasp level. Might touch up the hoof on the outside. I still trim my own horses. As a woman who’s 54 years old with most of my life on the back of a horse, It’s becoming harder and harder to get around all four feet 😫😵💫 Thank the good Lord I was able to tag along with my brother. After a couple years I was able to finish for him. Pretty basic stuff. Nip the nails , clench and clean up the hoof so it looks nice. All the tricks and new supplies the farrier has at their disposal is a whole new level. Respect for this job skill is seriously underrated.

I do not have any animals but this came across my phone. This is very interesting and I thought it might hurt them but as I’m watching & learning it doesn’t. They trust you all to care for them. Some other videos it breaks my heart that some people will neglect their animals not this video. However I have been watching other videos like this one. I know I love to get my feet pedicure soo I couldn’t even imagine how these beautiful horses feel. Great job!! 👏🏾 ❤️💙❤️💙🐴😍
Might not be negligence at all . There's situation where it could be difficult to "go to the farrier" . Where I use to live, the farrier came or go to the farm or the event he's needed . Going to the farrier stand something "outta the limits" a kindan infringement what's decent ... The help yourself n grab it if you're allowed sort of a mindset ... Whatever, worth the effort to came for the horses ... Dare, care, ride safe, clean, have fun ... From France with .
What I'd really love to see is the entire process with explanations why you are doing what you are doing. 1. See the horse walk in to see it's gait. 2. The trim and balance of all four hooves. 3. Why you choose to create a shoe verses using a stock shoe. 4. How the horse walks after all four shoes are done. Yes, this would make for a longer video, however, we would gain a much better appreciation for all of the hard work and training that goes into your job.
Maybe it's not all sunshine in May, but I wish at least part of my working life allowed me to work with horses and be as good as the farrier appears to be What satisfying work!
My mare used to like to stretch when they put her foot up on the stand. The feedback the farrier gets comes in the form of improved gait along changes in the foot (widening of the frog, better angles in the wall, etc) over time.
Beautiful ❤️ but I'd really wish you'd let us see them walk when they're finished. I'm curious to see the difference in their gait before and after
Someone’s been watching hoof gp videos
I agree

@@gloworm6387 most other animals hate having their nails (etc.) cut, it is amazing how well trained horses can be
try that to a wild horse and let's compare results

As far as I am informed (horse keeping for 55 years) the German farriers/trimmers have to serve an apprenticeship for three years.

Hey,...you all always do such good work. We have 2 horses & they live on our property & our horses get trimmed every 7-8 weeks.

Nicely done, love to see the horse walking before and after.

You are a master craftsman!❤❤❤
I've always wondered.... How long does it take for a hoof to go from the completed nicely trimmed state to the condition it was in at the beginning?
One of the nicest shoeing jobs I've ever seen. Especially love the precision of your nails.
Maravilloso trabajo,lo hace perfecto 🤠
Spectacular shoe job and horse was so good. They trust you ❤
Beautiful, work of art. Good job, Master at your Craft 👍
Beautiful work! I sure the horse is grateful!
Rarely nothing to says bout .
Well done .
Kinda state of the art reference point you made here .
Thanks.
Wow! This is real craftsmanship.
The sound made by the hoof nipper every time you clamp down is so satisfying 😋

You are a master at your craft.❤
Picture perfect. Thank you for sharing.🐴
Looks like new spiffy shoes once the job’s completed. 😍
Amazing transformation, I imagine that the horse can now gallop around, rather then hobble in pain.
thank you guys foe helping these horses
I love seeing these horses getting attention to make them more comfortable. My question is:are these rescues?
Beautiful result! Great job.
Beautiful workmanship. Your should be proud my friend. 😉👊
Do you have to shoe all of the hooves when one is bad or just the one? Very interesting videos. I really enjoys watching your craft.
Generally done in pairs or a full set, but there may be times when only one requires attention.
Thanks
A true artist of the craft!
Amazing skill 😍
Clean.
I love that.
You make a very hard job look so easy. Question. Do the horses like the attention they get feet? Do you get feedback from them?
Yeah, they say Thankyou and job well done and leave positive reviews on yelp. They’re horses, don’t know what level of ‘feedback’ you expecting
My mare used to like to stretch when they put her foot up on the stand. The feedback the farrier gets comes in the form of improved gait along changes in the foot (widening of the frog, better angles in the wall, etc) over time.
