- English - Manor Loop is all quiet now. Regional Victorian Railways Broad Gauge Passenger Trains ran to and from Geelong ran via the suburban Werribee tracks for over 100 years. In 2018 these same trains now run via the Regional Rail Link via Tarneit and Wyndham Vale. This section of Broad Gauge track is now only used for freight and transfer trains along with the odd request by V/Line to run trains via the old Werribee Suburban Line route when there is a problem with the Regional Rail Link.
These trains were filmed in June 2015 and as you can see there were plenty of passenger trains to and from Geelong during the morning peak. The Overland to Adelaide also made an appearance on the Standard Gauge Track and freight trains regularly use the Standard Gauge track as well.
There is a mix of V/Line N Class Locomotive Hauled and V/Locity Passenger Trains and the Great Southern Railway Overland to Adelaide on the Standard Gauge track hauled by an NR Class Locomotive.
Filmed 9th June 2015 Manor Loop near Werribee

I got my new computer working so you'll see a few more uploads now.
If that's what passes for "The Overland" (7:08) then I feel the end is near for Melbourne to Adelaide passenger trains. That is a shadow of the former service, and that's what it was a "service". This "service" is a joke, played by the greedy new Rail Companies, to force people from using interstate rail, into the greedy hands of their competitors, the bus companies. Bring back State control of our rail networks.Oh, how I miss the old days.
It's only running due to Government subsidy from Victoria and SA. It can't compete with air on price and convenience and that's the reality.
I saw a Freight Train go through the Regional Rail link recently... is it normal for Freight to through there, or is it sometimes?

It's not common but the freights can run that way if required.
